”You know them?!”

Fang Zhikang’s eyes widened in excitement as he stood up.

Dr. Zhang nodded, ”In our intensive care unit, there’s a vegetative patient named Ye Jingyi. Mr. Jiang comes every day to give her acupuncture and massage. He must be a relative of this Ye Jingyi.”

”Is that so?” Fang Zhikang exclaimed in astonishment and quickly left the office.

Upon reaching the surveillance room, Fang Zhikang pulled up the footage of Jiang Chen’s arrival that morning and saw that Jiang Chen indeed stayed in the intensive care unit for a while before leaving. He instantly understood.

”Dr. Zhang,” Fang Zhikang said with a solemn expression, ”inform the nursing department to assign more staff to Ye Jingyi, to keep a special watch. That Mr. Jiang is no ordinary person; we should treat his relative well. We might need to rely on Mr. Jiang in the future.”

Dr. Zhang nodded and left the surveillance room to make arrangements.

...

After leaving the hospital, Jiang Chen drove toward Qingyun Clinic.

Suddenly, he furrowed his brows slightly and stared straight ahead at the road.

He saw a red Porsche suddenly pull into the non-motorized lane, knocking down an old man on an electric bike.

At that moment, the Porsche’s door opened and an extravagantly dressed, flamboyant woman stepped out. Approaching the old man, she cursed loudly, ”You decrepit old fool, why are you blocking the way? Do you want to die?!”

The old man was a bit stunned and said in surprise, ”Young lady, I was in the non-motorized...”

”Slap—”

A crisp sound echoed as, before the old man could finish speaking, the woman slapped him across the face and continued cursing, ”I don’t care where you were walking. Now my car is scratched. How are you going to compensate me? Can you afford it? You old good-for-nothing, get out of the way and hurry up and die!”

Her words were insane, utterly shameless.

However, the onlookers who gathered around merely shook their heads in silence, with no one stepping forward to stop her. They simply couldn’t afford to provoke someone so wealthy, powerful, and shameless.

But upon hearing the woman’s words from his car, Jiang Chen felt a surge of anger and slammed on the accelerator.

”Boom!”

”Crash! Screech—”

The massive Knight XV collided with the Porsche, sending it several meters away. The rear end of the Porsche caved in, while Jiang Chen’s Knight remained undamaged.

Startled, the woman glanced at her car and screamed, ”Ah! My car! It’s brand new!”

The door of the Knight opened, and Jiang Chen stepped out.

”You bastard! Are you blind? Didn’t you see my car parked here? You’re going to pay for my car!” the woman yelled at Jiang Chen.

With a cold smile, Jiang Chen retorted, pointing at the woman’s nose, ”Is this the place for you to park? Is this where you should be driving? You hit an old man and not only failed to apologize but also assaulted him? Do you think being rich makes you so great?”

”You...”

The woman, chest heaving with anger and unable to retort, attempted to slap Jiang Chen across the face in a fit of rage.

”Slap!”

A sharp slap rang out. Jiang Chen, reacting faster, slapped the woman across her face. She swayed, nearly toppling over, and her planned slap fell through.

”You dare to hit me? You’re dead!” the woman cried in anger, pointing at Jiang Chen and screaming, before she began to dial a number on her phone.

Jiang Chen ignored the woman and turned his attention to the old man. Noticing that something about the old man’s expression was off, he raised an eyebrow and reached out to examine him.

”Young man, don’t worry about me, get going, that girl is definitely going to call someone to deal with you!” the elderly man said anxiously as he looked at Jiang Chen.

”Yes! Young man, hurry up and leave!”

”Go now, this woman looks like she’s kept by someone; she must have connections!”

”Brother, I admire your courage, but you should really hurry up and go. If you stay any longer, you’ll get in trouble!”

Bystanders were also urging Jiang Chen to leave.

Jiang Chen chuckled and shook his head: ”Since I’ve stepped in, I’m going to see it through to the end!”

Upon hearing this, the old man looked at Jiang Chen with admiration, took out his cell phone to make a call, only to realize after taking it out that the phone had been damaged by the impact.

”Young man, could I borrow your phone for a moment?” the elderly man said softly to Jiang Chen, who was checking on him.

Jiang Chen had finished his examination; the old man’s injuries weren’t serious, just a dislocation of the hip bone caused by the collision.

Jiang Chen took out his phone and handed it to the old man, then reached out to properly set the old man’s hip bone.

After taking a look at Jiang Chen, the old man dialed a number and quietly recounted the incident that had just happened.

Jiang Chen didn’t listen closely to the old man’s call, only knowing that the old man was calling his son.

Crack!

With a crisp sound, Jiang Chen massaged the old man’s hip bone, then looked up and asked, ”Old man, try and see if it still hurts?”

”Eh?” The old man had just hung up the phone and couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise. It had been very uncomfortable just a moment ago, but now the pain had suddenly gone away. Turning to look at Jiang Chen, the old man handed back the phone, expressing his gratitude, ”Young man, thank you, it doesn’t hurt anymore, you’re quite skilled in medicine!”

”It’s nothing, I’m glad it doesn’t hurt anymore!” said Jiang Chen with a humble smile.

The woman stood to the side, watching Jiang Chen and the old man with a cold and resentful look in her eyes, and cursed in her heart, You two bastards, are you chatting now? Just you wait, when my people arrive, I’ll make you pay!

Roar... screech—

A loud rumble sounded, and a vehicle marked ’Public Security’ stopped beside the woman, and a middle-aged man got out.

”Isn’t that Li Tianyong, the head of public security in this area?”

”Yes, what’s he doing here?”

”Could he have been called by that woman?”

”Oh no, the old man and that young guy are going to be in trouble now!”

The crowd recognized the middle-aged man and whispered amongst themselves.

At this time, a man wearing glasses also hurriedly arrived. Just as he was about to enter the scene, he heard what everyone was saying and stopped to look into the circle, then frowned and looked up at Li Tianyong.

”Dear, look at them! That old bastard blocked the road and scratched the car you just bought for me, and that bastard was even worse, he wrecked the car completely and even hit me. You must stand up for me!” At this point, the woman quickly ran to the side of Li Tianyong and whined.

Li Tianyong glanced at the car and his heart ached as he winced. Then he turned around and glared fiercely at Jiang Chen and the old man, cursing angrily:

”Well, I didn’t expect that in the area I oversee, there are such lawless individuals? How dare you crash cars on the street and beat people up?

Do you not have any respect for the law? Huh!

You two bastards, get down on your knees and apologize to Jiaojiao right now, and then compensate! Otherwise, I’ll make sure you’re locked up for life!”

His frantic tirade brought an instant silence to the surroundings.
