Medic Martial Dragon King

”Child, I’ve discussed a hundred billion investment in Dingjing, and my intention is for you to take over this company, and at the same time publicly acknowledge your identity. What do you think?” Elder Master Jiang asked Jiang Chen with a serious face.

”No.”

Jiang Chen resolutely shook his head: ”Grandfather, to be honest, I’m not quite used to this identity yet. I’m not ready to publicly acknowledge any identity at the moment, and as for this company, if possible, let Gong Lin take care of it for now, after all, she’s my wife now.”

Elder Master Jiang was stunned for a moment, and his expression wavered with hesitation.

After a short while, he sighed softly, ”Child, this won’t do! This hundred billion investment is Jiang Family’s asset. If you don’t publicly acknowledge yourself as a direct descendant of the Jiang Family, we can’t give you this investment.

Moreover, there have always been people within the family opposing this matter. I managed to push it through using my identity and prestige, but this can’t last forever. You need to produce results to shut them up.

But if you don’t go public, they’ll have an excuse not to allow the transfer of ownership to you, let alone to Gong Lin—an outsider—a scenario that is absolutely unacceptable, unless...”

”Unless what?” Jiang Chen furrowed his brows and looked at Elder Master Jiang in confusion upon hearing this.

Elder Master Jiang said in a deep voice, ”Unless you agree to reduce the hundred billion capital to ten billion, and this ten billion is my personal property, unrelated to the family. You won’t need to invest in the name of the family. However, by doing so, you’ll get no help from the family in terms of management in the future.

Also, you’ll need to make a promise—to elevate the company from ten billion to a hundred billion in scale within three years. By doing so, I can give you full authority over this ten billion for you to manage as you see fit. How about it?”

”This...”

Jiang Chen was moved, but still hesitated and did not want to agree.

Yet, he then thought about everything that happened in Jinhai and realized he was indeed lacking something.

Wealth! Power! Status!

These things are as important as your own abilities.

Moreover, there are powerful martial artists in this world. The two he had encountered in Jinhai were probably just Royal Realm Martial Artists, and beyond the Royal Realm, there could be higher levels. He wasn’t sure, but he had a feeling there must be.

Whether for himself, for Jing Yi, or for his mother, he needed more wealth, power, and status and to raise his own abilities to a higher level.

Only then could he better protect his loved ones!

After thinking for a long time, Jiang Chen nodded solemnly, ”Alright! I accept! I’ll write this pledge.”

Elder Master Jiang let out a slight smile, as cunning as a fox: ”Good, the pledge is ready. I knew it, this child of mine is just like me and your dad—very headstrong.”

Jiang Chen finished signing the already prepared pledge, and after chatting with Elder Master Jiang for a while, he hurried off to Dingjing’s First Hospital to perform acupuncture and massage on Ye Jingyi.

After seeing Jiang Chen off, Butler Lu returned to the room and looked at Elder Master Jiang with admiration, ”Master, the young master did sign the pledge, just as you anticipated.”

Elder Master Jiang smiled shrewdly, saying nothing more.

”I also understand your idea, Master. A hundred billion is a lot, but it gets too entangled with the collateral branches. Once it goes deep, it becomes a problem. That’s why you thought of this method.”

Butler Lu explained it all himself and then his face showed a trace of confusion, ”Just... why would you set such a hurdle for the young master? Reaching a hundred billion scale in three years is very hard.”

”It is hard!”

Elder Master Jiang finally spoke, ”But I heard from the Gong Family lad that this child is very capable, and I’ve also looked into his actions in Jinhai. I believe he has the ability. That’s why I made him make this pledge.”

”This... I’ve done my research too, but no matter how capable the young master is, this condition is still too hard,” said Butler Lu, looking blankly at Elder Master Jiang.

Elder Master Jiang wore a sly grin, ”It’s because it’s hard that, if he manages to accomplish it, the opposing voices within the family will diminish greatly once they see his capabilities, making it easier for him to return to the family later with less resistance.”

”But aren’t you afraid the young master won’t be able to fulfill this pledge?” Butler Lu asked again.

Elder Master Jiang smiled affectionately, ”It doesn’t matter if he can’t complete it. In that case, he’ll feel that he owes me, his grandfather. Then, by tugging on his heartstrings and reasoning with him, wouldn’t he come back to my side?

Ever since I learned of his existence, there hasn’t been a moment when I haven’t thought about him coming back to me. Once he returns, even if it costs me this old life, I will help him become the head of the Jiang Family!”

Butler Lu looked deeply at Elder Master Jiang, knowing just how eagerly Elder Master Jiang awaited Jiang Chen’s return, something only someone who was always close to the Master could understand.

In the past, due to the poor background of his daughter-in-law, his son was forced to flee the family home. That departure was permanent, never to see each other again, until recently when he received the news of his son’s death. Elder Master Jiang was filled with immense regret. Upon discovering Jiang Chen’s existence, Elder Master Jiang was overjoyed, heaping all the guilt he felt toward his son and the love for his grandson onto Jiang Chen, hoping fervently to have Jiang Chen by his side to protect him better!

Therefore, the Master came up with this pledge. Although it might seem like manipulating Jiang Chen, it was rife with concern and affection for him.

...

Several days later, a mysterious Yichen Investment Company with ten billion in capital emerged in Dingjing.

With its debut, the company instantly became the focus of attention for everyone in Dingjing.

The major families began speculating which major conglomerate had made such a big move, appearing out of nowhere without any prior indication!

This event also alarmed the Ye Family’s main branch in Dingjing.

In the conference room of the Dingjing Ye Family’s headquarters.

”Family Head, this is truly a tremendous opportunity,” said Ye Jianfei, who was responsible for gathering information on Yichen Company, his face brimming with excitement looking at the Family Head Ye Jianzhong.

The members of the Ye Family all turned to look at Ye Jianfei, their eyes filled with expectation, eager to hear the good news.

Ye Jianchang and Ye Tianming, having been driven out by the Jinhai Ye Family, had also made their way to the Dingjing Ye Family and were now huddled in the corner of the conference room.

”Tell us, what information have you got, and why do you call it a great opportunity?” Ye Jianzhong asked with a keen gaze fixed on Ye Jianfei.

Ye Jianfei immediately began speaking excitedly.
