Medic Martial Dragon King

”I have no idea either!”

Fan Ping shook his head, ”As soon as they arrived, they started attacking, and when I was the only one left, they said I had destroyed the scabbard of the Saint Blade and lost the sword, demanding our whole family’s lives as compensation!”

Jiang Chen was slightly startled and thought of the incident on the train, keenly perceiving that the two men on the train seemed to share some similarities with the men today.

Turning to look at Fan Zhewei, Jiang Chen spoke with a grave voice, ”I’m afraid the people who wanted to blow you up on the train are in cahoots with them.”

”What?!”

”They’re together?!”

Fan Zhewei and Fan Ping exclaimed in shock, completely dumbfounded, their hearts pounding and their bodies trembling.

Seeing that he couldn’t get any more information from Fan Ping, Jiang Chen turned around, bent down, and picked up the scabbard that had fallen to the ground.

”Clang—”

The Tang Sword slid into the scabbard, a perfect fit.

Jiang Chen turned to the Fan father and son, ”I’ll take the scabbard. If those people come again, say the sword was given to me and I ruined the scabbard, and tell them to come find me!”

Unable to glean more news from Fan Ping, Jiang Chen shifted his attention to the group that had come to snatch the sword.

For some reason, he had a strong desire to thoroughly understand the origins of this sword.

”Thank you!”

”Thank you, Mr. Jiang!”

The Fan father and son, with tears of gratitude, spoke out. This was truly saving their family’s lives.

”About this...” Jiang Chen glanced at the bodies of the several men he had killed and hesitated to speak.

”Mr. Jiang, I’ll take care of this, I won’t let it trouble you!” Before Jiang Chen could finish, Fan Ping already took on the task of disposing of the bodies.

”Alright, I’ll leave it to you then, I need to go!” Jiang Chen nodded and then left the Fan residence.

”Mr. Jiang, have a safe journey!”

”Mr. Jiang, have a safe journey!”

Fan Ping and his son respectfully saw Jiang Chen out the door.

...

After leaving the Fan residence, Jiang Chen looked at the hole in the scabbard and a trace of deep thought appeared in his eyes.

Blood Jade, bloodline?

Could it be...

All of a sudden, Jiang Chen remembered the shape of the Blood Jade on the scabbard and the way the Blood Saber resonated with his own bloodline. It was very possible that the piece of Blood Jade that had been removed from the scabbard was the same one he had obtained and absorbed at the Ye Family’s place.

The more he thought about it, the more certain he became, and his interest in the origins of the Blood Saber grew even more.

After that, Jiang Chen wrapped the sword along with its scabbard and took a cab home.

Upon arriving home, Jiang Chen immediately went to his bedroom and carefully examined the Tang Sword again.

”Eh? This sword...”

Jiang Chen looked at the Tang Sword with surprise.

He noticed that the bloody luster of the sword had intensified a bit, and the Blood Fiend Aura had also thickened.

”Could it be...”

Jiang Chen frowned, ”This sword can really feed on blood?! Heh, interesting!”

...

A silent night passed.

In the morning, the crisp ringtone of the cellphone woke up the still-sleeping Jiang Chen.

”Hello!” Groggily opening his eyes, Jiang Chen sleepily answered the phone.

”Young Master, I am Lu Yongnian,” a respectful voice came from the receiver.

Jiang Chen was surprised for a moment, his sleepiness vanished, and he asked in confusion, ”Butler Lu? Is there something the matter?”

”Young Master, the Elder Master has come to Dingjing, and he wishes to meet with you!”

Jiang Chen was slightly startled and fell silent.

He knew who Butler Lu was referring to as the Elder Master, and a complex emotion surged in his heart.

Without Jiang Chen speaking, Butler Lu did not urge him, just quietly waited for Jiang Chen to speak, and for a moment the phone line fell silent.

”Where is he...?” Jiang Chen finally broke the silence.

”At Shenghua Hotel, in the Presidential Suite No. 1, Young Master, come and see the Elder Master, he really wants to see you,” said Butler Lu with a sigh of relief when he heard Jiang Chen speak.

”Alright!”

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Chen got out of bed to wash up.

When he opened the door of his bedroom, the door beside his opened simultaneously, and Gong Lin came out.

Seeing Jiang Chen with a preoccupied look, Gong Lin asked with surprise, ”What’s wrong?”

After hesitating for a bit, Jiang Chen said with a complex expression, ”Elder Master Jiang, that is, the grandfather I’ve never met before, he has come to Dingjing and wants to meet me!”

Gong Lin was taken aback and fell silent for a while before saying, ”Go and see him; after all, he is your relative.”

Gong Lin understood Jiang Chen’s feelings very well. Although they were relatives connected by blood, he didn’t know of their existence since he was young and had grown up through hardships with only his mother, suddenly discovering he had a family was something not easily accepted by anyone!

Jiang Chen nodded and left the house with Gong Lin, his expression complex as he hailed a taxi and headed towards Shenghua Hotel.

”Young Master!”

As soon as Jiang Chen got out of the taxi, a shout rang out, and turning his head, he saw Butler Lu standing at the hotel entrance, smiling at him with relief.

”Butler Lu,” Jiang Chen approached and greeted him.

”Young Master, the Elder Master will be very happy to see you!” Butler Lu said with a light smile.

Jiang Chen was silent for a moment before nodding slightly and following Butler Lu into the hotel.

Inside Presidential Suite No. 1.

Elder Master Jiang sat on the sofa in the living room, looking at the door full of expectation, his eyes revealing emotions of excitement, nervousness, unease, longing, and more.

The door of the suite opened, and Butler Lu walked in with Jiang Chen.

”My child!”

Elder Master Jiang instantly stood up from the sofa, excitedly shouting, his hands involuntarily raising and staring directly at Jiang Chen who was entering.

Jiang Chen looked at the old man before him, his hair white, his face wrinkled, an expression filled with excitement and joy, and the warmth in his eyes immediately calmed the complexity in Jiang Chen’s heart!

”Grand... grandfather,” Jiang Chen’s mouth opened, and he called out the title he hadn’t used for over twenty years with some difficulty.

”Ah!” Elder Master Jiang’s face brightened, and he quickly responded, ”Come, child, have a seat, let’s sit down and talk!”

Jiang Chen took a deep breath to steady his heart and stepped forward to sit next to Elder Master Jiang.

Elder Master Jiang raised his hand, it reached his waist, looking like he wanted to hug Jiang Chen but hesitating to do so.

Butler Lu looked on with expectancy, hoping Jiang Chen would make a move to comfort the old man craving his grandson’s embrace.

Jiang Chen glanced at Elder Master Jiang’s hand, stepped forward, and shared a hug with him.

”Good, good, good child!”

The old man’s eyes filled with tears; from the moment he found out that Jiang Chen existed in the world, Elder Master Jiang had been looking forward to this. Although Jiang Chen had not fully acknowledged the Jiang Family yet, at least he wasn’t overly estranged from him, warming Elder Master Jiang’s heart.

After exchanging pleasantries for a long time, Elder Master Jiang spoke about many matters concerning the Jiang Family and asked Jiang Chen about his younger years. When Elder Master Jiang heard about the tribulations and hardships Jiang Chen faced, he was overwhelmed with emotion, his old tears flowing freely in grief and pity.

This caused Jiang Chen to feel a greater sense of recognition for his grandfather whom he had never met before.

After a long time, Elder Master Jiang brought up the serious matter.
