Chapter 2631: The Blue Fox Family (2)

The Blue Fox family had always been an exceptional existence in the Starry Crescent Land. Due to their unique nature, they were generally very cautious of who they married and had a particular way of practicing. Every member of the clan was very skilled, but they would always be mysterious and keep a low profile. The Blue Fox clan was also known to have a mysterious wizardry barrier that could prevent any outsiders from breaking into their territory.

Gu Xijiu was invited by Lan Waihu to go in once, so she had seen the place before. The architecture on the inside was completely different from anything that she had seen before. Many buildings looked like pyramids that were equipped with a lightning rod at the top. When she first saw it, Gu Xijiu wondered if the Blue Fox clan was somehow linked with the Egyptians. Nonetheless, that question was answered rather easily since all the members looked Chinese. Hence, she did not bother to pursue that idea any further.

Knowing the heritage and mysterious power possessed by the clan, Gu Xijiu thought that the Blue Fox community would be the last to collapse in the Starry Crescent Land. She never expected the place to become Guan Yaning’s residence and even host the other outsiders.

Using her spiritual power, Gu Xijiu levitated into the air to have a better look at her surroundings. She found that the pyramid-like structures of the Blue Fox family still existed, and each of them stood as orderly as before. It did not look like the place had been taken over through any sort of battle.

Besides noticing the pyramids, she also saw Admiral Guan Yaning walking hurriedly with a soldier next to him. She squinted her eyes slightly as she just could not believe how freely he traveled around the place. It would only take her a minute to shoot and kill Guan Yaning on the spot. But, would she want to shoot?

She pinched her fingers together to prepare herself to cast the necessary spell in case she decided to go through with it. Just then, she heard Guan Yaning curse, “Does Lan Yue really think he is the king of this place? Heck! I’m so tired, and he still expects me to go over.”

Gu Xijiu was caught by surprise, and her body went stiff at the remark. She also loosened her fingers in her sleeves. Lan Yue, the current king of the Blue Fox family, was once the fiance of Lan Waihu. He had competed with Yan Chen to get Lan Waihu’s heart, but after that, he gave up and returned to the blue fox clan.

Gu Xijiu had previously befriended him. After several activities together, she had quite a good impression of him as she felt that he was a person who was good at judging situations. She would not be too surprised to find out that this man was the culprit behind all this mess. But how did Lan Yue get involved with Guan Yaning? And, why did the admiral refer to him as the king? She bit her thin lips and followed the two men to learn more.

The territory that belonged to the Blue Fox clan was vast. It was almost the equivalent of a small country, with a radius of about five or six thousand square kilometers. Remembering the layout of the place, Gu Xijiu could tell at once that Guan Yaning’s residence was built in the most central position of the land that belonged to the Blue Fox clan.

Gu Xijiu remembered that this place used to be a huge empty square land. It was the place where the Blue Fox people came to worship. The square was about a hundred kilometers wide, and the end could not be seen. The square tiles that paved the floor were covered with a kind of sapphire. At that time, the square was very eyecatching. But the main attraction was the jade blue foxes that surrounded the place of worship.

The jade blue foxes were huge and came in different shapes and sizes; each one was at least a few feet high. Although their postures were different, all their heads were raised up high as if they were looking up at the sky to worship their creator.

Whenever the Blue Fox people had their prayers, they worshipped these jade blue foxes. Lan Waihu used to explain to Gu Xijiu, that this was the totem of the Blue Fox family, and asked her if they were beautiful. Gu Xijiu did not feel that they were very beautiful per se, but she did find them a bit strange. The fact that they were all looking to the sky was another mystery that she pondered as well.

Of course, the carving and posture of these jade blue foxes were a lot more high end than the typical stone statues. Since it was a totem of the family, Gu Xijiu merely observed it from a distance and did not pay too much attention to them.
