Venerated Venomous Consort

Yun Yanli had the desire to own her body; he wanted to make sure that this woman belonged to him. He brought the wedding dress with him because he thought that Gu Xijiu would resist him. If she really did, he could use her resistance as an excuse for him to get physical. To his dismay, Gu Xijiu did not even try to resist. He wanted her to change her attire, and she did.

Things did not happen the way he had expected, so he was quite disappointed. With a tight smile, he said, “You are unusually obedient today.” Her compliance had taken away his sole excuse to rip off the façade of mutual respect between them.

Gu Xijiu was caught in a daze while staring blankly at the wedding dress. The wedding dress looked familiar to her; it was as if she had worn it before a long, long time ago. She turned to him for assurance, “Do I look good in this wedding dress?”

Astonished, he added with a firm nod, “Yes, you look good.”

“It is a shame that the house has no mirror; I cannot see it myself,” Gu Xijiu expressed her regret and disappointment over the matter.

“I will get you a mirror,” Yun Yanli offered enthusiastically.

He momentarily put aside his perverted intention to attend to her needs. It was not the right time for him to express his perverted obscenities.

Yun Yanli heaved a sigh of regret before exiting.

Gu Xijiu was relieved, as well. She had already figured out the reason for his visit, so she decided not to do anything foolish to trigger him. However, she knew the man well. Having made a firm decision, he would not change his mind so easily.

Soon, Yun Yanli returned with a big bronze mirror and placed it in front of her. The woman in the reflection of the mirror was absolutely exquisite. Yun Yanli was tempted by her beauty again and firmly wrapped his arm around her willowy waist. “Xijiu,” he called out.

Gu Xijiu froze, for she knew any slight resistance would trigger him even more. She acted as if she had never noticed his proximity and his arm on her waist. Intensely, she only gazed at the woman in the mirror in slight remorse. “Too bad,” she sighed.

“What is?” Yun Yanli answered hoarsely.

“I have always wanted a proper wedding night, where I can have a ceremony before sharing the first night together. Fuyi was too eager back then. He did not even promise me a wedding, which has now become my regret.” The experience seemed to reinforce her sense of loss. “Every woman wishes for the perfect wedding,” she added.

Yun Yanli remained quiet. There was a look of uncertainty in his eyes as he began to struggle with his inner thoughts. If he forced her to do it, she would definitely bear a grudge against him. But if he could wait until their wedding night, perhaps it was the best he could do to make up for her regret.

The struggle continued as Yun Yanli remained silent for a moment.

“Yun Yanli, do you really want to marry me?” Gu Xijiu suddenly asked, as if she never noticed the struggle that was ongoing in his heart.

Yun Yanli was caught off guard by her sudden question. “Why do you ask so?” With a smile, he reassured her, “Haven’t you noticed how I feel about you?”

Gu Xijiu softly replied, “I have. Yun Yanli, we used to be friends who have shared good times and bad together. I do not want to picture you as the bad guy that I do today.” She started to talk about their friendship.

Quietly, Yun Yanli was also reminiscing their good times together.

Gu Xijiu sat while holding her knees. “I do not have many to call friends,” she sighed.
