Reborn As Noble

Chapter 679: Two Months to Destiny ( 679 )

”Y-Young master!”

”Please wake up—young master!”

Liana’s voice cracked as she gently patted his cheek. Her hands trembled. His face was pale, lips dry, and his body.

”Hot...” she whispered. ”He’s burning up...”

She looked to Gloria with growing panic.

Gloria pressed her fingers to his neck, then his forehead. A moment of silence.

Then she stood up, turned to the stunned guests, and gave a calm, elegant bow.

”Pardon the disturbance,” she said with a composed voice that only slightly betrayed her anxiety. ”This is our young master, Javier. Son of Count Garius De Armand. It seems he simply... missed us too much.”

A few nobles blinked.

Some chuckled.

Genevieve gasped dramatically and sniffled. ”How touching...”

Liana resisted the urge to cry.

Gloria gave another short bow. ”Please continue the celebration. We’ll see to him at once.”

The music slowly picked back up.

Queen Mylezra had been watching the whole time with unreadable eyes. At Gloria’s words, she gave a small smile, then gracefully walked toward the girls and knelt beside them.

”Let me see him,” she said softly.

Both girls moved aside without hesitation.

Mylezra placed a hand on Javier’s forehead.

”Hmm... just a slight fever. Tired. Nothing life-threatening.”

She lifted her other hand—and a soft golden glow bloomed from her fingertips.

Her magic was refined, elegant, and potent—high-tier elven healing magic.

Warm light seeped into Javier’s skin, easing his temperature and settling his erratic mana.

The tightness in Liana’s chest finally loosened.

Gloria exhaled in relief.

She leaned in slightly and whispered into Liana’s and Gloria’s ears.

”You two take him inside and let him rest. I don’t want anything happening to my future stepson~”

Liana froze.

Gloria blinked.

Mylezra straightened with a wink, then turned gracefully to return to her royal seat as if nothing had happened.

Gloria and Liana both froze.

”Stepson...?”

”Wait... does that mean...?”

”Lord Garius... is going to marry Queen Mylezra!?”

Their eyes slowly turned toward each other—shocked, wide, speechless.

After a moment, they turned their attention back to the boy in their arms.

”...Let’s bring him inside,” Liana whispered, gently brushing dirt from Javier’s cheek.

Gloria nodded. ”Carefully.”

Together, they lifted him—one arm over each shoulder, his weight heavier than expected due to his taller frame.

His head lolled slightly as they moved, but his breathing had stabilized.

They walked through the quiet manor hallway, passing a few stunned servants and elven attendants who quickly stepped aside.

Soon, they reached one of the guest chambers. A wide couch with soft velvet cushions stood near the window, bathed in afternoon light.

They gently laid Javier down.

Liana knelt by his side, brushing the hair from his forehead again. Her lips parted, but no words came out.

Her eyes shimmered, quietly.

”I didn’t know...” she whispered. ”Young master... would go this far.”

”...Just to find us,” Gloria added softly, standing beside her. Her voice trembled. Her usually composed hands clenched into her dress.

”...Maybe it was our mistake...” she murmured, her throat tight. ”We didn’t tell him. We thought it was just a short leave...”

She lowered herself beside Liana, her fingers gently brushing Javier’s sleeve.

”...We’re sorry, young master,” Gloria whispered, tears finally pooling in her eyes. ”We didn’t mean to make you feel left behind...”

Liana didn’t speak. She simply leaned her forehead gently against Javier’s shoulder, letting out a quiet breath.

Their young master came all this way.

Collapsed from exhaustion.

Just to see them.

Meanwhile, outside in the sunlit courtyard, the festive music had returned in full.

Laughter and chatter filled the air.

The wedding celebration continued gracefully, with noble guests raising their glasses and dancing across the stone-paved yard.

Luminous petals drifted from the high vines, casting soft glows across the joyous scene.

Azariah stood beside her husband, her veil now lifted, revealing a radiant smile. She wore a glow of genuine joy—cheeks flushed, hands neatly folded over her chest as she nodded toward approaching guests.

The groom, Edwyrd, still slightly red around the ears, stood close beside her.

He had finally relaxed.

The nerves had melted into pride.

He offered polite bows, greeting nobles and relatives alike, answering playful jests with chuckles, and holding Azariah’s hand.

Genevieve was already sobbing again somewhere behind the flower arrangements, wiping her eyes.

”My handsome son is married~!”

Nobles exchanged whispers, curious about the boy who had collapsed, but none dared speak of it aloud after Queen Mylezra waved it off.

Mylezra smiled gently as she watched the joyous scene before her.

The music had returned, nobles danced in pairs beneath the flower-lit canopy, and the air was filled with the fragrance of elven wine and blooming crystal lilies.

Her gaze swept the courtyard—pausing briefly as she spotted her brother, Rhalyf Loraneiros Sylvaris, the father of the bride.

He was laughing as he poured wine for one of the visiting nobles, clearly enjoying himself. That rare warmth in his smile made her eyes soften.

Beside him, Viessa—his wife and Mylezra’s sister-in-law—was moving gracefully between guests, adjusting decorations, exchanging words, making sure everything remained flawless.

A perfect wedding.

A perfect day.

Inside her mind...

How lovely...

Mylezra’s smile lingered.

Soon... it will be my turn.

How many years has it been?

How long have I waited, watching from afar?

For him to finally stop running?

Her hand gently brushed the rim of her goblet.

Garius has no escape now.

Francesca approved.

Even Javier knows.

The entire Armand family has accepted it.

Two more months...

Her eyes glittered softly under the vine-lit canopy.

Two more months, and then...

My happy day.

A quiet chuckle escaped her lips.

Kyaa! Garius! I couldn’t wait.

You agreed to it.

She smirked slightly, suppressing the flutter in her chest.

Lucky Javier was there in the Beastkin palace that day... I really cornered you back then. There’s no way you’d let your youngest son be stolen by your ex-party member, right?

Using his youngest son as leverage~ You really should’ve seen it coming, Garius. You were always too soft when it came to me.

Mylezra leaned back against the wooden column, watching the celebration unfold before her eyes. The music, the laughter, the elven wine—it was all lovely.

But in her heart, something even sweeter was blooming.

Just two more months...

Her smile turned gentle.

And then, I’ll finally be Lady Armand.

Francesca approved. Javier knows. The entire Armand family already accepted me. All that’s left... is the ceremony.

She took another sip of her elven tea and glanced toward Viessa and her brother.

Hmph. Eridith might have had his child first, but I’ll be the last wife. The official one. The elven queen by his side.

She reached up and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

And if he even thinks of running again... well~

Her eyes twinkled.

I’ll just use Javier again. That poor boy is too easy to fluster.

Besides... he already called me ”stepmother”~
