Reborn As Noble

Chapter 652: Love, Pride, and Hallway Showdowns ( 652 )

Javier walked out from his father’s private chamber, the heavy wooden door closing behind him with a quiet thud. Marcellus and Cedric remained inside, likely receiving their own missions or maybe more of their usual fatherly “praise.”

He walked down the long corridor slowly, hands in his pockets, deep in thought.

“I’ll handle this one alone. No Liana. No Gloria. It’s a quick mission, no need to risk them. I’ll just sweep the area, clean it up, and come home before dinner.”

As he rounded the corner near the eastern hall, he passed by a familiar face—a dark elf maid standing quietly near one of the pillars.

Javier blinked. “Oh… Lithia? Waiting for Marcellus?”

She gave a soft smile and nodded. “Yes, young master.”

Javier gave a slight wave and continued walking down the hall.

He reached near his room door when.

“Young master.”

The voice came from behind him.

Javier turned, and his eyes widened. Standing just a few steps away was Lithia—again.

She bowed respectfully, calm and graceful as always.

“Wha…?” Javier blinked hard. “How can you be here? Didn’t I just pass you… like… over there?”

Lithia simply smiled.

“Hmm?” she tilted her head gently. “You mean my mother? Harny?”

Javier blinked. “Huh?”

Lithia folded her hands in front of her politely, her expression calm as ever. “The one you passed earlier—that was my mother. Not me.”

Javier stepped back slightly, still confused. “Wait wait wait… why was your mother waiting for Marcellus?”

Lithia’s smile didn’t waver. “Because he’s her man too.”

“Huh??” Javier’s voice cracked.

“And yes,” she added with a faint chuckle, “we look exactly the same. Same voice, same face, same height. That’s how our kind is. Dark elves don’t age visibly until several centuries pass.”

Javier’s eye twitched. “So… you’re telling me that my big brother brought back both his maid lover… and her mother… and they both look exactly the same?”

Lithia nodded sweetly. “Yes.”

Javier silently stared into the void.

“Marcellus really just unlocked the cheat route, huh…” he muttered.

“Cheat route?” Lithia tilted her head, puzzled. “What do you mean, young master?”

“Ah—nothing,” Javier quickly waved it off, trying to stay composed. “Just talking to myself…”

Lithia gave him one last curious glance, then bowed gracefully. “If you say so, young master.” She turned and continued walking down the hall, her footsteps as elegant as her posture.

Once she was out of sight, Javier stood frozen, staring blankly ahead.

Inside his mind…

Damn you, Marcellus!!

Mother and daughter!

Living together!

Looking identical!

He clutched his head.

This guy just got the ultimate cheat route for an eroge!!

If this were a game, that’d be the most hidden, god-tier route that only 0.01% of players could unlock!!

He stomped toward his room, grumbling under his breath.

“Damn it… and I thought having six girls from different races was already hard mode…”

Javier slumped onto his bed, face buried in the pillow.

“Eeee… I’m… I’m the one losing here…” he mumbled into the sheets.

“I thought I won by getting six girls…”

He rolled over and stared at the ceiling, expression blank.

“Can’t win…”

He sat up again, then shook his head with sudden resolve.

“Nevermind. I still got six. And not to mention…” He puffed up his chest proudly, “every single one of them is a total beauty!”

He chuckled smugly to himself, hugging a pillow.

“Ehehe… can’t wait to be adult. Just a few more years and…”

Then his mind wandered—and a certain demon princess came to mind.

Delya.

‘I can use seven phantom bodies at once, you know~’

Javier’s grin slowly stretched wide.

“…Hehehehe…”

“Damn right I’m lucky in this world.”

“…Young master?”

A soft, familiar voice called out gently from behind.

Javier blinked and turned.

“Hm? Liana?”

She stood at the corridor’s corner, holding a stack of folded towels in her arms, tilting her head with quiet curiosity.

“What are you smiling about, alone in the hallway?” she asked, stepping closer, brow slightly raised.

“Ah, nothing~” Javier chuckled and walked over without hesitation.

Before she could respond, he wrapped his arms around her in a firm, sudden hug.

“Eh—Y-Young master?”

Without another word, he leaned down and pressed his lips softly to hers.

Liana’s eyes widened for a moment—then slowly fluttered closed. Her arms relaxed, the towels nearly falling as she leaned up and kissed him back.

It was warm. Gentle. And far longer than their usual goodbye kisses.

When their lips finally parted, Liana remained close, her forehead lightly touching his.

“…What’s wrong, young master?” she whispered, peering into his eyes.

Javier gave a small shake of his head and smiled.

“Nothing,” he replied softly. “Just… felt happy being with you.”

Liana’s cheeks turned a soft pink, and she gently nudged her head into his chest.

“Ara~ Liana getting the first kiss in the morning, young master~?”

A gentle, teasing voice drifted from behind, laced with subtle danger.

Javier flinched.

Liana froze.

They both turned.

There stood Gloria, arms folded neatly in front of her, her expression calm—but her smile? Razor sharp.

She adjusted her glasses with two fingers, eyes glinting behind the lenses.

“Only Liana?” she asked, her voice as smooth as velvet. “My my~ That’s quite the bold move.”

“Ah… Gloria… I-I can explain—”

“Ara~ explain?” she echoed, stepping closer with elegance. “Where’s my kiss, hmm?”

She leaned slightly forward, just enough for her glasses to catch the light and flash ominously.

“Surely… the young master wouldn’t ignore his second wife… would he?”

Liana calmly stepped aside, placing the towel bundle down.

Javier stood stiff, lips trembling into a guilty smile.

“Aha… w-well… I was just warming up, you know? Stretching my lips for—mmph!”

Gloria stepped forward and kissed him.

Firm, deep, and deliberate—her arms circling his neck as she tilted her head just enough to ensure Liana had a perfect side view.

By the time she pulled back, Javier was breathless.

Gloria licked her lips softly and whispered near his ear.

“That’s how second wife greets her husband.”

Javier was still catching his breath when he felt the air grow… heavier.

Slowly, he turned his head.

Liana stood to the side, arms crossed, her eyes sharp and glowing with silent warning.

“…Gloria.”

Gloria tilted her head innocently, a finger touching her lower lip as she turned toward Liana with a smile.

“Hmm~? Yes, first wife~?”

Liana’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“I already accepted you. I know you’ll be his second wife in the future,” she said calmly.

“…But not that bold.”

Gloria’s eyes sparkled with amusement.

“My~ But weren’t you bold just now?” she asked sweetly, glancing at Liana with an elegant tilt of her head.

“A morning kiss in the hallway, no shame at all~”

Liana’s brow twitched.

“That’s different,” she replied, stepping forward. “He came to me. I didn’t ambush him with a sneak attack.”

“Ara~ Sneak attack? That was a greeting kiss, as any devoted wife should give.”
