Reborn As Noble

Chapter 474: Javier’s Resolve ( 474 )

Inside Javierʼs mind—

I need to clean this mess up fast.

If this keeps spreading… more people will suffer. More families torn apart.

He grit his teeth, planting another white ore device, a burst of purifying light radiating outward.

Damn it… If only Liana and Gloria were here.

With them, he could focus, plan, move smoother. They always knew how to handle what he missed.

His fingers moved on instinct, drawing out the next device, but his chest tightened.

I really canʼt live without them around, huh?

A soft memory flickered—Lianaʼs calm voice scolding him with a faint smile, Gloriaʼs warm gaze behind her glasses.

I miss them… I miss their hugs. Their kisses. Their voices.

Javier smiled faintly, kneeling as he planted the small white ore device into the soil. Its gentle glow spread outward, purifying the land as beastkin guards formed a perimeter around him, weapons at the ready.

Liana… Gloria… Finish your training fast, and come with me.

But even as he thought that, a shadow crossed his heart.

No… Bringing them along would be too dangerous.

If the other Celestial Vessels discovered Liana and Gloria were the chosen vessels of Ari and Aria, theyʼd be hunted—targeted. Not just as individuals, but as keys to divine power. They would be attacked… consumed, along with the spirits they carried.

Damn... Looks like Iʼll have to handle this alone for now.

Then, a stark bit of irony struck him, and he smirked.

Alone? Hah. Like I could ever truly be alone.

He ducked behind a corner, firing at another dark miasma creature from above.

Iʼve got two new troublesome girls clinging to me, he thought wryly—both loudly declaring themselves as future wives.

So annoying.

If Liana were here… sheʼd definitely punch them both right in the face.

He chuckled quietly to himself.

Yeah… I miss her a lot.

Wonder how long itʼs been…

Two weeks? Three? Maybe more?

Javier glanced up at the darkened sky, the land behind him still faintly glowing from the purified efforts—another ore device humming softly near him.

I canʼt even remember anymore…

All I remember are their hugs… their kisses…

He let out a long groan.

AHHHH!! Damn this whole ʼsaving the worldʼ business!!

He kicked a loose stone out of frustration, watching it bounce off a stunned dark miasma beast-kin that had gotten too close—before the guards swiftly took care of it.

Still… if he didnʼt do this, Liana and Gloria would be in danger. His family too. Tch.

Ugh, fine. Better stop whining and just do his job properly.

Javier moved toward the next area, pulling another purification device from his storage.

Though now that I think about it… Why did Father only assign me to the beastkin and elven kingdoms? What about the demon kingdom?*

He narrowed his eyes, letting the thought linger.

Well, with the dwarves, humans, and halflings already at each otherʼs throats in the middle of a war… that probably explained it.

Canʼt exactly send me waltzing into that chaos without sparking an international incident. Tch. Political headaches… glad thatʼs Fatherʼs problem, not mine.

He sighed, pushing the device into the ground. Another flare of light rippled outward, flooding the area with purifying energy.

Still… I wouldnʼt mind if Liana showed up and dragged me home right about now.

Back when I was eleven… before I ever stepped into that ridiculous noble academy…

He chuckled softly, memories surfacing.

I used to tease Liana so much. Pulling her skirt just to see her reaction.

”Discipline,” sheʼd say—then punch him like a battle-hardened knight, dragging him back into the estate by the ear.

And when I snuck out to town or some nearby village? No matter how far I ran, sheʼd always find me. Standing there, arms crossed, that cold glare on her face… dragging me back like some mischievous pet.

His smile softened, the weight of longing flickering in his eyes.

But… she was always there.

From the moment I was a baby in this world… even with all my memories from my past life, she was my constant.

We even slept together—well, innocently, of course. Sheʼd hum lullabies to me… stroke my hair when I had nightmares.Well...”nightmare”...

She followed me everywhere. Protected me. Guided me. Loved me.

He stared into the vast sky, voice barely a whisper.

”Does she… miss me too?”

The wind swept gently through the grass, rustling the hem of his cloak, as if in answer—a silent embrace carrying his unspoken question.

Liana...

Javier smiled gently, eyes fixed on the sky now washed in golden light. The last traces of dark miasma evaporated with the third burst of his white light skill. The air was clean again. Quiet. Peaceful.

He got lucky—ridiculously lucky.

After Liana… came Gloria.

The calm, graceful older sister type. Always with that serene smile, saying ”ara~” or ”my, my~” in that gentle, teasing tone. Well...she also looked young, just like Liana.

She was the second girl to steal his heart. After Liana, of course.

He chuckled, remembering how he used to flip her skirt too—or hide behind her like a shameless brat whenever Liana was mad and swinging with discipline in mind.

Used her as a human shield when Liana was angry.

And yet… Gloria always just smiled. Always.

He could still hear that warm, calm voice echoing in his mind.

”Ara~ young master~”

Serene. Gentle. That graceful smile always soothing him, no matter how chaotic the day.

The second girl he fell in love with, right after Liana.

And Liana… had already given her approval.

His cheeks flushed slightly, warmth blooming in his chest.

”Aahhh!! Five more years, Junichi!! Just five more!!”

Clink.

The soft metallic sound of the device locking into place echoed under his boot.

Javier grinned—mischievous, hungry, and absolutely alive. He wiggled his eyebrows.

”I canʼt wait to have babies with them. A lot!! Kekeke~”

Turning toward the next infected zone, his mana sparked anew with fierce determination.

”Alright!! Time to clean up this messed-up world, kill all the Celestials, and come back home!!”

”Cuquawked!!”

Javier spun around just in time to see his faithful Pekko, Buddy, flapping down with a proud flutter of orange feathers and a dramatic hop.

”Oh, Buddy!” Javier laughed. ”Yawn… Damn, Iʼm sleepy… but!!”

He slapped his cheeks lightly, waking himself up as his eyes gleamed with reckless energy again.

”Letʼs go, partner!! We still have more ground to cover!”

He jumped onto Buddyʼs back with a spring of mana under his boots.

”Iʼll treat you to a premium wyvern meat stick grill, freshly roasted on the portable grill!!”

Buddy squawked in excitement, wings flaring as Javier secured himself.

”Kikiki!! Letʼs show this miasma whoʼs boss!!”
