A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 1237: Chapter 1238: Oblivion Sorcerer King

Silence, serenity...

Time slips away, irreversible, ruthlessly digesting everything within the Dimensional Esophagus.

So much time has already passed, and waves of exiles at the Convergence Grounds of the Piercing Gate are devoured by the Dimensional Esophagus, yet they cannot replace the rule that everyone automatically adheres to upon arrival here, the unique rules of the Nine Revered Mountains.

No exile is able to cross the Eight Guardian Peaks, reach the Summit of Nine Peaks, and witness the true form of the Oblivion Sorcerer King. The Oblivion Sorcerer King is no longer just a name; it symbolizes the peak strength at the Piercing Gate and the founder of the rules for the Nine Revered Mountain Lords.

”Every day you pass by here once, it’s been five thousand years, and still you don’t plan to give it a try?”

Mesocea’s deep, aging voice came from behind, the extraordinary privilege holder at the Convergence Grounds of the Piercing Gate, the only friend of the Oblivion Sorcerer King.

Standing before Mesocea was a humanoid creature with blue-purple skin, dressed in tattered burlap clothes and holding a long sword.

The eyes were wrapped in black ribbon, seemingly blind, yet the vision was broader than when he once had eyes. This was breaking the chains of invincible arrogance, a reverence for the mountains beyond mountains, driving the motivation to move forward.

For this reason, he voluntarily came to the Dimensional Esophagus, hailed as the terrifying legend, seeking the ultimate swordsmanship, forging the legend of the Sword God.

Carrying a dark ancient sword on his back, in truth, it could no longer be called a sword; it was a rough black stick over two meters long, as tall as this humanoid creature.

From the black stick emanates the aura of great artistry without craftsmanship, heavy sword without sharpness!

He is a true powerhouse, far stronger than any previous Lord of the Second Peak, the one with the greatest opportunity to challenge the myth of the Oblivion Sorcerer in Convergence Grounds.

He is Nameless, without a name.

”If it were twenty-seven thousand years ago, when the Oblivion Sorcerer King first unleashed that destructive aftermath, I might have had the power to duel, even with this blunt sword unleashed, who knows who would win!”

Nameless stood at the center of the crater, once a site where Green crushed exiles in a mere few breaths, still retaining some spiritual fragments of plaster.

Such a powerful body was crushed by the Oblivion Sorcerer in the most direct and violent manner, establishing supreme power, showcasing how strong the Oblivion Sorcerer was at that time.

Having lost his eyes, Nameless, unblinded by appearances, could better discern the force Green once unleashed, merely a short-lived explosive nature, fundamentally not its true strength.

However now...

”But now, after twenty-seven thousand years, here I stand, only able to gaze up, sensing that suffocating oppression from the mountain top. Now he...is too powerful! Exceeding everyone’s imagination here at the Convergence Grounds, becoming stronger! I couldn’t be his opponent, not even able to perceive his existence truly, even when I try to feel that vast energy here, it’s as if under the daunting gaze of sky-covering eyes, my hands uncontrollably tremble.”

Mesocea arrived beside Nameless, following his gaze, also looking up at the Summit of Nine Peaks, at that cottage enveloped by smoke.

From all around, within tens of thousands of meters, every moment resonating in a tremor-inducing manner, light and darkness constantly twisted, converging towards the inside of the cottage, palpable from the whole Convergence Grounds of the Piercing Gate.

Mesocea seeing this, unexpectedly revealed a trace of warmth and intoxication at the corner of his mouth.

”Indeed, he’s too powerful. Maybe now, he has surpassed the previous three Kings of Predators at the Piercing Gate, being a truly terrifying life form in the Dimensional Esophagus, an intimidating existence that even the Dominators must fear, a legend only digestible through Dimensional Wars.”

Nameless looked at Mesocea, although he had no eyes.

”Led many exiles at the Piercing Gate, slaughtered descending Dominators strong ones? I heard Starfire Sprites mentioned the legends of Sun Scorpion Lady, Heaven Shaker, Somber Walker. I also trained in another large gathering place for seven thousand years, yet no one ever gave me such oppression. The Dimensional Esophagus, truly a frightening monster gathering place of the Endless World, I am still too weak.”

Hehe...

For some reason, Mesocea sneered.

”Are you referring to the Mysterious Reincarnation Ground?”

”Yes!”

The voice of Nameless was filled with astonishment, hesitantly said: ”Had the Oblivion Sorcerer King been there?”

”No, he hasn’t left the Summit of Nine Peaks since the last challenger twenty-seven thousand years ago. But roughly thirteen thousand years ago, the previous Reincarnation King from the Mysterious Reincarnation Ground secretly visited the Piercing Gate, but after penetrating the First Peak of Nine Peaks, never descended.”

Nameless’ trembling hands suddenly shook, clenched into fists.

He arrived at the Dimensional Esophagus twelve thousand years ago, his first stop being the Mysterious Reincarnation Ground, where everyone spoke of the missing previous Reincarnation King legend, yet...

Yet unbeknownst to the world had already perished in the Oblivion Sorcerer King’s hand at the Nine Peaks’ Summit of the Convergence Grounds!

”Alas... really wished to drink his delicious mushroom soup twice more...”

Mesocea shook her speckled long tail, with numerous little snakes along her graceful body as she glided toward the smoking cottage on the Summit of Nine Peaks.

...

”How is the flavor this time?”

The voice full of weariness and calm, from the Gray-White Spiral Pattern Mask, three-colored light eyes seemingly reflecting the entire starry sky, vast and scholarly, every gesture transparent with the mysteries of balance, the gathering of endless light and dark blinded the physique from view, nearly entirely solidified energy ripples.

And with such powerful energy body, Green managed not to lose a bit.

Hard to imagine, what level of strength Green has reached, Abyssal Demon specimen silently placed at the most conspicuous spot within the cottage, accompanying Green through unimaginable dull and tasteless years.

At this moment, Green truly reached the pinnacle of personal achievement after departing from the Wizard World’s knowledge system, near omniscient, yet never able to advance further.

Personal wisdom, especially within such enclosed environment, ultimately has its limits, true limits!

The Wizard’s power never relies on the individual, but the aggregation of wisdom from the entire Wizard World, continually accepting and creating new knowledge systems, completing era’s transformation, rejuvenating power systems.

”Well, not bad, indeed peak deliciousness, hehe.”

Although Mesocea seemed excited, the actual world was fully filled with reluctance, a hint of sorrow, sipping mushroom soup bit by bit.

Green beside didn’t rush, silently waited.

Mesocea has reached the limit of her life, at the edge of her Soul Fire’s dispersal...

Suddenly, Mesocea raised her head, looking at Green, said: ”Actually, both you and Nameless came voluntarily to the Dimensional Esophagus for greater power, didn’t you?”

Green paused.

”Yes, my hometown is a place in the Endless World called Wizard World, it’s beautiful, albeit having its ugly and cruel side, yet it’s home, I’d never forget my purpose here, just to become stronger, then return alive.”

Green’s voice, though firm, was filled with reminiscence, seemingly a distant and blurred tale.

”Then go back soon, your Soul Fire is running out too, don’t indulge in the strength time here gives you any longer, it leads you to madness before finally annihilating you, digesting you completely as part of it.”

Mesocea smiled, her previously resilient skin now withering at a visible speed, a sigh after seeing her own palm.

”I originally wanted my beautiful side to be left for you eternally, oh well, thank you for this peak mushroom soup, Oblivion Sorcerer King.”

With that, Mesocea slowly left Green’s Cottage.
