A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 1236: Chapter 1237: Upholding the Rules

Three hundred years later.

”Convergence Grounds of the Piercing Gate, Sorcerer King of the Nine Peaks Summit, I am the Lord of the Second Peak, The Forgetter!”

Below the Nine Peaks Summit, a powerful being looked up and roared, with hundreds of exiles secretly gathering from all directions, nearly all the forces of the Convergence Grounds of the Piercing Gate.

Among these exiles, some were from a generation ago, witnesses of the battle in the Silk Underworld Palace, as well as the other seven Peak Lords. More were new faces continually receiving the legend of the Oblivion Sorcerer King of the Nine Peaks Summit.

The Lord of the Fourth Peak, the Starfire Sprite, with flickering eyes and a flickering ghostly body, gazed at The Forgetter standing and looking up below the Nine Peaks Summit. Beside it, the Hillstone Bear King continued to ”creak” and ”crunch” the soil, its dark crystal eyes gazing ahead.

”The rules of the Nine Peaks Lord have been in the Piercing Gate for an entire era; no Lord of the Second Peak has ever dared to challenge the Oblivion Sorcerer King. Can this Abandoned One succeed?”

The Hillstone Bear King’s question spoke the minds of all exiles and Peak Lords present.

”How could that be possible? You also saw the Space-Time Sealing Technique from ten thousand years ago. Even the Demon Feather Phoenix, whose strength had grown so great, could only be forcibly sealed by it. I believe the power of this Oblivion Sorcerer King of the Nine Peaks is enough to rival any one of the three great Predator Kings of the previous generation.”

The Starfire Sprite immediately dismissed the Hillstone Bear King’s doubts.

After a pause, the Starfire Sprite continued, ”And you’ve also seen, for an era, including the three thousand years since the Oblivion Sorcerer King first appeared at the Convergence Grounds of the Piercing Gate, he has hardly ever shown himself in everyone’s presence, as if an existence without desire or interaction, yet his power has steadily increased day by day. I even suspect he is fundamentally like the Heaven Shaker, a terrifying being that fled to the Dimensional Esophagus to escape the pursuit of the Dominators.”

”Indeed, considering the terrifying aura the Demon Feather Phoenix displayed at the time, this Abandoned One now does not come close.”

The Hillstone Bear King ceased chewing the soil, speaking melodiously, ”Moreover, before the decisive battle with the Demon Feather Phoenix, it is very likely that the Thunder Demon Eye, Ancient Heart, Clockwork Puppet, Nether Spider King, and Withered Ruminator had all been thoroughly slaughtered by this Oblivion Sorcerer King...”

Indeed, it is hard to imagine how Green’s mystery, in the imaginations spread by these exiles, has been depicted as such a terrifying presence.

Slaughter, in the Dimensional Esophagus, holds no meaning, for it is itself the digestion rule of the Endless World system.

Below the Nine Peaks Summit.

A purely white, plaster-type humanoid creature, with nose, eyes, ears, mouth, and eyebrows, elegant and agile in physique, without garments, covered by a semi-transparent spiritual will like a film, and with a honeycomb-like breathing mask on its mouth, exhaling wisps of white gas.

The Abandoned One gazed up at the summit of the Nine Peaks, feeling above the oppressive and frightening aura emitted by the Oblivion Sorcerer King, the rules setter of the Nine Peaks Rule, yet showed no sign of fear—only endless challenge, and infinite longing.

Ever since arriving at the Piercing Gate, accepting the Nine Peaks Rule, the mythical tale of the Oblivion Sorcerer King has always lingered in the Abandoned One’s ears, as if it were the legend of the entire Piercing Gate, unattainable and unreachable.

Symbolizing status and power, the Nine Peaks stand one higher than the other. All exiles can challenge the Lord of the Ninth Peak at any time, as the oppressive power is enormous.

Thus, the Lord of the Nine Peaks has no choice but to attempt to challenge the Eighth Peak, and the Eighth Peak, to avoid frequent challenges from the ever-changing Ninth Peak, must challenge the Seventh Peak.

The higher the peak, the more peaceful and powerful one becomes. This is the Nine Peaks Rule!

Relying on this rule, Green enjoys the continuous progress amidst years of peace, as if the rule was entirely customized for himself. To break this rule, one must follow the path laid out by Green, defeat Green, and then talk about replacement.

However, since this rule was designed by Green, how easy can it be to follow the rules and grow step by step, then defeat the rule-maker?

The macroscopic difference between the Sixth Level Creature and the Level Seven Creature, the World Master and the Endless Dominators, lies herein!

This harvest from thoroughly understanding rule power rivals Green’s Light of Balancing Lever, Grand World Sphere, Page of Destiny, dimensional gap sealing technique’s gate, Bloodline of the Light of Hope, and Abyssal Demon Race Body!

Under the watchful eyes of many.

The Abandoned One, yearning to break the mythical rules and become the new King of the Piercing Gate, roared with endless longing.

”As long as I defeat you, obtain the throne of the First Peak of the Nine Peaks Summit, I will enjoy all the rights of the Convergence Grounds of the Piercing Gate! I must defeat you, I must obtain all your rights, I will set new revenge rules for the Piercing Gate and lead all exiles here to launch a revenge attack on the Mysterious Reincarnation Ground!”

Roaring, the Abandoned One’s desire was actually to break Green’s Nine Peaks Rule and launch a full-scale revenge attack on a place called the Mysterious Reincarnation Ground.

It is unknowable what story it once had.

”Pathetic, ignorant weakling, daring to disturb my ten thousand years of tranquility, attempting to break my Nine Peaks Rule, heh heh heh, your corpse shall remain here as an eternal warning to those who dare challenge my majesty.”

Attempting to break the rules will inevitably face the full resistance of the rule-maker and leave a warning to future generations.

In the gaze of everyone, atop the eternally serene Nine Peaks Summit for ten thousand years, a heart-stopping mighty power emerged, light and darkness interwoven over tens of thousands of meters, twisted and gathered, and in the central origin of darkness and light, a vast aura strolled through the air, stepping out one step at a time.

Astonishing sight, this aura strength seems even greater than recalled!

The Oblivion Sorcerer King, worthy of being the creator of the Piercing Gate Nine Peaks Rule and the Lord of the Nine Peaks Summit!

In a shocking, wide-eyed gaze, the white plaster Forgetter found it unbelievable that it had defeated the Lord of the Second Peak several hundred years ago. With a refined Energy Stone erupting within, originally thought to have the qualification to compete.

However, at this moment...

Such overwhelming, mighty power, a devastating pressure unable to resist, as if squeezed by endless elements, each breath so precious, the Oblivion Sorcerer King of the Nine Peaks and the Lord of the Second Peak were completely different levels!

It is more than just a myth; it is the myth’s creator!

Rumbling...

In merely a dozen breaths, several vast craters were left on the Skeleton Land, as the Forgetter was crushed by Green’s irresistible might. The light and darkness Annihilation Fit figure soared skyward, returning to the small laboratory on the Nine Peaks Summit.

”Let future challengers take heed.”

The stern, indifferent, and serene will echoed among the exiles gathering at the Piercing Gate.

Challenges between the other eight peaks are not battles of life and death; only for the rule-maker, to maintain the dignity of the rules, must a life and death decision be rendered!

Otherwise, it is the beginning of rule laxity.
