Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 1694: Chapter 1694: Schemes

Bang...

An astounding explosion, accompanied by the sound of flames dissipating, echoed over Dongli Sword Palace.

A figure stood there, dressed in fiery red, appearing somewhat burly.

”What a terrifying aura.”

”What an astonishing flame.”

All around, Martial Artists from various factions looked up at the figure in the sky, their faces filled with shock.

Even Ao Donglou’s expression was heavy.

Because, with his power, he also felt an immense pressure from the figure.

With his Supreme 9999 Dao strength.

The one who could exert such pressure on him, could only be one.

The newcomer, ranked a Legend.

”Huh, isn’t that Lord Jiu Yan?”

Many Martial Artists gradually recovered from their surprise, recognizing the figure.

”Yes, yes, it is indeed Lord Jiu Yan, the Main Hall Master within the Flame Hall Main Hall.”

”I’ve had the fortune to see Lord Jiu Yan a few times in the Flame Hall Main Hall.”

Indeed, the newcomer was Jiu Yan.

Jiu Yan, as the Main Hall Master within the Flame Hall, often traveled between various main halls and branch halls handling affairs.

Moreover, Jiu Yan’s reputation was extremely high in the Six Dragon Territory and other renowned regions.

”I’ve heard that Lord Jiu Yan is already ranked as a Legend.”

”No wonder there’s such a terrifying aura.”

”...”

The Martial Artists from various factions discussed fervently.

At this moment, Jiu Yan stood in the air, hands clasped behind, his expression solemn.

”Vice Hall Master Yi Xiao, have you finished participating in the contest?” Jiu Yan’s gaze was fixed on Xiao Yi, his tone stern.

The Martial Artists from various factions, upon hearing this, also focused their eyes on Xiao Yi.

”Come to find Vice Hall Master Yi Xiao?”

On the ground.

Xiao Yi listened to Jiu Yan’s earnest tone, but upon looking into the sky, he clearly caught a fleeting playful smile across Jiu Yan’s face.

Seeing this, his heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.

”Palace Master Ao.” Jiu Yan suddenly turned his gaze to Ao Donglou in the sky.

”What are the results of this fight for the quota?”

”Did Vice Hall Master Yi Xiao get first place, overpowering everyone?”

Jiu Yan emphasized the words ’overpowering everyone’ a bit heavier.

Ao Donglou, upon hearing this, smiled, ”Quite right.”

Initially, he was slightly apprehensive, as such a sudden visit from a Legendary Expert was no ordinary event.

But upon recognizing the newcomer as Jiu Yan of the Flame Hall, he immediately relaxed and could roughly guess Jiu Yan’s purpose here.

”Vice Hall Master Yi Xiao is truly remarkable.”

”He fought several rounds, easily defeating his enemies, even beating Shui Ninghan, the Young Master of the Eighteen Mansions’ number one.”

”Such strength is indeed overwhelming and invincible.”

Ao Donglou was not flattering.

No one ever doubted Yi Xiao’s strength.

Even as Ao Donglou’s words fell, Martial Artists from various factions nodded in agreement.

”Oh, that’s very good.” Jiu Yan nodded and then once again looked at Xiao Yi, chuckling.

”Vice Hall Master Yi Xiao, I’ve long known that with your abilities, the assessment set by the Three Hall Masters is definitely nothing to you.”

”Assessment?” Below, Xiao Yi heard and frowned.

Before he could ask further, Jiu Yan loudly stated first, ”Well then, Vice Hall Master Yi Xiao, since the assessment is over and the contest has ended, come with me back to the Main Hall.”

”After all, the identity of the successor to the Three Hall Masters still requires some ceremony, and there’s also an announcement to the Central Region.”

Xiao Yi, upon hearing this, instantly reacted, the expression under his mask suddenly changed.

”Damn, I’ve been duped.” Xiao Yi gritted his teeth.

Meanwhile, around, the countless Martial Artists from major factions in the Central Region, were already crying out in amazement, in a fervor.

”The successor to the Three Halls Main Hall?”

”Wow...Purple Flame Yi Xiao is truly formidable, to gain the recognition from the Three Halls Main Hall, acknowledged by the Three Hall Masters?”

”No wonder the prestigious Purple Flame Yi Xiao, with such strength, would join this contest, turns out it’s for assessment?”

”That makes sense, for such an important identity as the successor to the Three Halls Main Hall, naturally one must be able to overpower all heroes, overpower all Heavenly Talents and Monsters in the Central Region.”

”...”

The discussions among the surroundings were endless.

Swish... in the sky, Jiu Yan suddenly descended, arriving beside Xiao Yi.

A Prohibition Barrier silently formed.

”Kid.” Jiu Yan smile playfully, ”Did you really think returning the quota for the Three Hall General Order would render you unchallenged by the Three Hall Masters?”

”You underestimate the means of the Three Hall Masters.”

Jiu Yan smiled playfully, his expression somewhat proud.

The face beneath Xiao Yi’s mask turned dark.

The Three Hall Masters truly have great means.

Knowing he came to participate in the quota battle among major factions, also knowing that with his strength, he would definitely take first place.

Thus they went along with the plan, specially sending Jiu Yan here.

Now, Jiu Yan, in front of the various factions’ families, sects, and Heavenly Talents of the Central Region, personally announced this matter.

Moreover, provided a reason for participating in the battle, as an assessment.

Everything seemed logical.

He, Xiao Yi, wouldn’t even have a chance to refute.

Bang...

The Prohibition Barrier laid by Jiu Yan flashed and vanished.

”Vice Hall Master Yi Xiao, shall we go?” Jiu Yan smiled, his words carrying a hint of respect.

This hint of respect appeared utterly reasonable in the eyes of the Martial Artists from various factions.

After all, Purple Flame Yi Xiao is the future successor to the three ancient halls: Flame Hall, Medicine Venerate Hall, Demon Hunting Hall.

Xiao Yi gritted his teeth, struggling to suppress the anger in his heart, ”Go back first, Lord Jiu Yan.”

”I have affairs to deal with, once handled, I shall return to the Main Hall.”

”Alright.” Jiu Yan nodded, then bowed slightly, performing a salute, ”Then I shall return to the Main Hall first, to prepare for the ceremony and announcement.”

Jiu Yan said solemnly.

But in fact, there was no need to make any announcement in the Central Region.

All major factions are already gathered in Dongli Sword Palace.

This matter would spread throughout the Central Region shortly.

Swish...

Jiu Yan disappeared in a flash, flying away while controlling the air.

At the scene, Xiao Yi inwardly cursed the Three Hall Masters as old foxes.

But now, with various factions gathered here, he couldn’t even unleash his anger.

”Congratulations, Brother Yi.”

”Not bad, not bad, worthy of being my opponent, congratulations, congratulations.”

Ye Liu and Ran Qi congratulated with clasped hands.

Xiao Yi glared at them and turned away.

”Oh right, Brother Yi.” Ye Liu initially felt puzzled, then hurriedly said, ”Aren’t you really going to attend tonight’s banquet?”

”Now that the various factions have gathered and the contest is over, it’s a great opportunity for networking.”

”Moreover, having now become the successor to the Three Halls Main Hall, the various factions will surely compete to associate with you.”

”No, I don’t enjoy such hustle.” Xiao Yi responded indifferently and walked away completely.

At the site, Ye Liu was taken aback.

Ran Qi, too, stood baffled.

...

Xiao Yi had departed, yet didn’t leave Dongli Sword Palace.

Instead, heading towards Dongli Sword Palace’s seclusion room.

...

Second update.
