Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 1674: Chapter 1674: Supreme Sword Technique

Swoosh...

Xiao Yi instantly transformed into a flash of fire, leaping onto the Martial Arts Arena.

”He’s up, Purple Flame Yi Xiao.” The fervor in the surrounding spectator seats erupted even more fiercely.

”Heu Youu is finished.”

”Tsk tsk, Heu Youu’s defeat is inevitable; it’s just a matter of how many moves he can withstand.”

”Facing Yi Xiao, well, it’s just his bad luck.”

”...”

The sighs around rose one after another.

And the discussions reached an apex the moment the competition started.

From the moment Xiao Yi defeated Poison Robe, in everyone’s eyes, he was no longer just a Heavenly Talent but a contemporary powerhouse. He could rival big figures like the Palace Master of Dongli Sword Palace.

Although this Heavenly Talent was also just a young man, the remarkable strength and achievements had long made everyone subconsciously forget the word ’young.’

On the Flame Dragon Continent, strength is paramount, and this has long been ingrained in every Martial Artist’s heart.

”Yi Xiao.” On the Martial Arts Arena, the previously proud Heu Youu couldn’t help but grind his teeth.

”I don’t believe that despite my desperate cultivation these days, I would end in a miserable defeat.”

”I don’t believe I have such bad luck all my life.”

”Yi Xiao, make your move.”

Xiao Yi glanced at the Sword Palace judge.

The Sword Palace judge nodded and announced loudly, ”The competition begins.”

Boom...

A blast erupted in an instant at the original spot.

A blaze flashed by in a split second.

At that moment, no one knew what happened.

Only vaguely did they see a flash of fire.

Only a booming sound echoed in their ears.

When everyone came to their senses, only one person remained on the Martial Arts Arena—it was Yi Xiao.

”Hmm? Where is Heu Youu?”

”Why is only Yi Xiao left?” The exclamations continued in the surrounding spectator seats.

Until outside the arena, a feeble voice stood up slowly, spitting out a mouthful of blood, did the surrounding Martial Artists notice the figure.

”You are indeed terrifyingly strong.” The figure, naturally, was Heu Youu.

In that instant, he didn’t see what happened.

He only knew that his vision suddenly blurred and then his chest ached.

When he realized it, he had already been blasted off the arena, spewing a mouthful of blood.

Heu Youu wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, clasped his hands towards Xiao Yi on the arena.

”I know, you held back, and I thank you for it.”

After speaking, Heu Youu turned and left.

However, at the instant he turned around, his face was filled with an expression of bitterness.

He knew he would lose. Today, the name Purple Flame Yi Xiao seemed already to have reached the point where it could stand alongside the Eighteen Mansion Masters.

So he had no chance of winning.

He was just confident that he wouldn’t lose so quickly, so miserably.

Hence what he said earlier about ’desperate cultivation these days and not believing it would end in a miserable defeat.’

However, he still lost miserably.

To Heu Youu, he grew up amidst praise almost all his life.

Of course, he deserved it.

He was hailed as the strongest genius Soul Master; the entire Illusion Light Mansion, from the Master down to the elders, all had high hopes for him.

And he never disappointed anyone.

He only had two exceptions, two miserable defeats.

One time, in the Blood Light Mansion, shortly after he succeeded in Awakening his Martial Soul for the second time, he was full of spirit when he was severely injured by a terrifying Sword Dao Genius with a single strike.

All his arrogance, filled with youthful spirit, was smashed to pieces by that sword strike.

After that time, the entire Illusion Light Mansion spared no cost to heal him.

After that time, he desperately trained, with his Cultivation surging all the way up.

But today, he miserably lost again, at the hands of a terrifying Fire Demon.

This time, it almost shattered what little arrogance he had left.

So, his face was full of reluctance.

However, he might never have thought that both exceptions happened at the hands of one person.

Perhaps, it really is just his terrible luck.

...

”In this battle, Yi Xiao wins.”

As the Sword Palace judge announced, Xiao Yi made a swift move and left.

He was just about to return to his seat when he noticed Palace Master Ao on the chief seat giving him a hinting glance.

Xiao Yi slightly frowned and flashed to the chief seat.

On the Martial Arts Arena, a new match commenced.

At the chief seat, Xiao Yi looked at Ao Donglou, puzzled, ”Palace Master Ao, is there something?”

Ao Donglou gave a bitter smile.

Just now, perhaps only he in the whole field could clearly see what happened with Xiao Yi’s punch.

Just that punch, Ao Donglou dared to ascertain that Yi Xiao is truly a powerhouse on the same level as himself.

”Yi Xiao, my friend,” Ao Donglou smiled bitterly.

”Can you tell this old man the purpose of your participation in this competition?”

”As for strength, no opponent here can serve as a grindstone for you.”

”Regarding quotas, with your skills, any hall like the Demon Hunting Hall, Flame Hall, or Medicine Venerate Hall would gladly offer you a spot.”

Xiao Yi frowned slightly, ”Does Palace Master Ao feel I’m disrupting the fairness of the competition?”

”Heh.” Ao Donglou laughed awkwardly.

Though not explicitly stated, he was well aware that no one in the room could withstand a few moves from Yi Xiao.

Xiao Yi frowned.

Ao Donglou hastily added, ”Yi Xiao, my friend, don’t misunderstand.”

”This old man just wanted to say, as a Heavenly Talent, you are qualified to participate in this contest, even though I am the host of this event, I have no right to refuse your participation.”

”Just, the old man guesses, are you here for the Supreme Sword Technique of Dongli Sword Palace?”

”Supreme Sword Technique?” Xiao Yi pondered a bit.

Indeed, he knew of it.

The Supreme Sword Technique is the strongest sword technique of Dongli Sword Palace, passed down through the generations for millions of years, also known as a famous Sword Dao Technique.

As the host of this quota struggle, Dongli Sword Palace has not only presented many rewards but also included the Supreme Sword Technique as part of the victory prize.

Of course, it’s not the complete Supreme Sword Technique but only a copy and only 90% of it from Dongli Sword Palace.

Ao Donglou spoke gravely, ”If Yi Xiao, my friend, comes for this, the old man can directly give you the technique.”

”Then you won’t have to participate in the rest of the contest.”

Xiao Yi shook his head, ”I appreciate your kindness, Palace Master Ao.”

”I still wish to earn it on my own merit.”

In fact, the Supreme Sword Technique’s fame was formidable and was indeed an extremely powerful Sword Dao Technique.

However, Xiao Yi was more inclined towards that massive reward.

He came here not for the quota, but just for that reward.

There’s still over a month until the Ancient Emperor’s Tomb opens; during this time, he needs to elevate his Cultivation once again.

And that reward is naturally his goal.

Of course, for many forces present, that reward may not be significant—the quota is what’s crucial.

Hence, Xiao Yi didn’t explicitly state it.

His participation in the competition had already caused dissatisfaction among various forces.

If those forces knew Yi Xiao came just for Cultivation Resources rather than the quota, they would probably go mad with rage.

”Then so be it.” Ao Donglou shook his head, ”Since Yi Xiao, my friend, is unwilling, I won’t press further.”

Xiao Yi nodded, clasping his hands, and turned to leave.

...

Third update.

There will be an explosive update tomorrow, everyone don’t be anxious.
