Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 172: Chapter 171: Sword Master

The Extreme Boundary Stele was indeed among the most treasured of treasures.

Naturally, it would not be placed in the Martial Arts Stele Forest like any ordinary Mystic Realm Stele.

Moreover, since this stele bore the teachings of the Sword Dao,

it was located within the Sword Hall.

Guarded day and night by the Sword Sect’s powerhouses, it was one of the most heavily guarded places in the sect.

Xiao Yi controlled his flight and arrived at the Sword Hall.

Dressed in the garb of an Outer Disciple, he would normally have no access to the Inner Sect.

But upon presenting Elder Yi’s token, he passed through unhindered, and no one dared to obstruct him.

Before long, he reached the grand hall of the Sword Hall.

The grand hall of the Sword Hall was where the Sword Hall Elders imparted teachings and passed on their legacy.

It was extraordinarily solemn and austere.

On ordinary days, not even Sword Hall Disciples could enter.

Only on the first day of each month when the Sword Hall Elders gave guidance on Martial Arts cultivation, would disciples be admitted.

Today was not such a day.

Upon his arrival, Xiao Yi saw Sword Hall Elders and several Direct Disciples, including Guu Changkong.

Direct Disciples were the elder’s pupils, entrusted with great expectations and could consult on Martial Arts knowledge in the hall at any time.

Their treatment was much higher than that of ordinary Inner Sect Disciples.

The Extreme Boundary Stele was located within the Sword Hall.

If Xiao Yi wanted to gain insights from it, naturally, he needed the Sword Hall Elders to lead the way, so he came to this grand hall.

Although the Extreme Boundary Stele belonged to the Sword Sect and was not exclusively the property of the Sword Hall,

Xiao Yi naturally did not want to act rashly out of respect and thus had come to pay his respects.

His appearance immediately drew the attention of several, including the Sword Hall Elders in the hall.

”Greetings, Elder,” Xiao Yi said to the Sword Hall Elder.

He cupped his hands together and politely performed a bow.

”How presumptuous,” Xu Wuchang snapped coldly.

Xu Wuchang, one of the Direct Disciples of the Sword Hall Elders, with a Cultivation at the Seventh Layer of Mysterious Profundity, only ranked below Guu Changkong in status among the Sword Hall Disciples.

”When has the Sword Hall ever been a place where an Outer Disciple could trespass on a whim?”

”Leave at once.”

The superiority written on Xu Wuchang’s face was filled with disdain for Xiao Yi.

”Huh?” Xiao Yi furrowed his brow.

Shortly after leaving the Outer Sect Treasury the previous day, a Deacon had informed him.

Elder Yi had already notified the Sword Hall, and he could come to the Extreme Boundary Stele at any time today.

The Sword Hall should have been aware of his visit today.

At this moment, Xiao Yi sharply caught the amusement and mockery on the faces of Guu Changkong and a few other Direct Disciples.

They clearly looked on as if they were enjoying a show.

And the Sword Hall Elder sat with closed eyes, not even glancing at Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi understood.

These fellows were not unaware of his visit today.

They were deliberately making things difficult for him.

”Can’t you hear what I’m saying?” Xu Wuchang’s tone was full of hostility.

Xiao Yi, unwilling to waste breath, simply pulled out Elder Yi’s token.

”Outer Disciple Xiao Yi, following the instructions of Elder Yi, has come to study the Extreme Boundary Stele.”

”Kindly lead the way, Elder,” Xiao Yi said, looking towards the Sword Hall Elder.

The Sword Hall Elder, as though he heard nothing, did not speak.

”What Xiao-zi, Di-zi, this is the Sword Hall, not a music hall,” Xu Wuchang declared loudly. ”Can’t you see my Master is resting?”

”Depart immediately and should you dare to disturb us again, do not blame us for being rude.”

Xiao Yi ignored him, instead mobilized the True Qi within his body.

He spoke out loud, ”Outer Disciple Xiao Yi, following the instructions of Elder Yi, has come to study the Extreme Boundary Stele.”

”Kindly lead the way, Elder.”

With the amplification of True Qi, his voice instantly magnified a hundredfold, like a sound wave.

Echoes filled the entire grand hall of the Sword Hall, deafening.

Xiao Yi’s approach was simple; if the Sword Hall Elder was pretending to rest, wouldn’t such a loud voice wake him up?

Unless he was deaf.

Otherwise, it was deliberate obstruction.

As expected, the Sword Hall Elder had no choice but to slightly open his eyes.

Just then, Xu Wuchang and others burst into action.

”Boy, you’re courting death.”

”To cause such a ruckus in the Sword Hall grand hall; my Master is the Sword Hall Elder, and you deliberately disturb him.”

”With such disrespect, it seems we need to teach you on behalf of your master what manners are, what the sect rules are.”

Xu Wuchang, with three other Direct Disciples, immediately made a move against Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi remained fearless, his face suddenly turning cold.

”To teach me manners on behalf of my Master? Teach me the sect rules?”

”When was it ever your turn to meddle in affairs concerning my Master?”

”When was it your turn to replace him?”

Xiao Yi also erupted in anger since the others did not show him respect, nor did they respect Elder Yi, he did not need to show them courtesy either.

Overwhelming Spiritual Energy covered his fist.

With just one punch, he had already sent those three Direct Disciples flying.

Those three were only at the Sixth Layer of Mysterious Profundity.

Before Xiao Yi, they couldn’t withstand a single move.

Only Xu Wuchang remained, whom Xiao Yi slapped heavily across the face.

But he didn’t slap him away, instead, he slapped him to the ground.

Boom.

Upon receiving Xiao Yi’s heavy palm, Xu Wuchang fell to the ground and directly cracked the floor of the great hall.

Had it not been for Xu Wuchang immediately channeling his True Qi for protection, he would have ended up with broken bones all over by now.

Had it not been for Xiao Yi not using his full strength, Xu Wuchang would already be dead.

Merely the Seventh Layer of Mysterious Profundity, killing him would be like slaughtering a chicken.

”Smack.”

Xiao Yi stepped heavily on Xu Wuchang’s body.

”Still feel like teaching me in place of my master?”

Xiao Yi asked coldly, increasing the pressure of his stomp.

”Pfft.” Xu Wuchang violently spat out a mouthful of blood.

He realized that he had no power to resist.

”Still feel like it?”

Xiao Yi said, then stomped down heavily again.

”Still feel like it?”

Another stomp.

Even with True Qi to protect his body, Xu Wuchang couldn’t bear it any longer.

Blood spewed from his mouth, and his body felt as if it was falling apart.

”That’s enough.”

At this moment, an authoritative voice rang out.

It was the Sword Hall Elders.

Their eyes fixed on Xiao Yi, sharp as ever.

As if two earth-shattering swords were shooting out from them.

Their mere gaze alone made Xiao Yi uncomfortable, as if being cut by a knife.

Obviously, the Sword Hall Elders’ Cultivation had reached a profound and unfathomable level.

”Elder, you’re awake,” Xiao Yi withdrew his foot and gave a bow to the Sword Hall Elders.

His gesture was polite, but his face held a more mocking expression than Guu Changkong and the others had before.

”Young man, you are here under Elder Yi’s orders to comprehend the Extreme Boundary Stele.”

”Just now, the elder was resting.”

”Your disciples, respecting their teacher and valuing the Dao, didn’t let me disturb you.”

”They were very courteous too, afraid of neglecting this young man, afraid I would become bored waiting.”

”So, they suggested a sparring match.”

”Oh, right, the elder was resting with closed eyes just now, you probably didn’t see.”

Xiao Yi bit particularly hard on the words ”closed eyes.”

”Should I have another sparring match with them?”

As he spoke, Xiao Yi was about to make his move again.

”Enough,” the Sword Hall Elder shouted lightly.

He had obviously been pretending to sleep before, aware of what happened.

But from the beginning to the end, even as Xu Wuchang was seriously injured, he did not stop Xiao Yi.

He seemed to be wary of something.

At this time, Xiao Yi clasped his hands and said, ”Elder, during the sparring just now, this junior’s skills were not polished, and my Cultivation shallow. I didn’t control my power well and injured your two esteemed disciples, I hope you will forgive me.”

Upon hearing this, the Sword Hall Elder’s face immediately turned dark.

If Xiao Yi, with unpolished skills and shallow Cultivation, could beat his esteemed disciples to heavy injuries.

What did that make his own disciples? Even more unpolished, even more useless?

”It’s alright,” the Sword Hall Elder contained his expression and said indifferently, ”They were no match for you; it’s not your fault.”

”Come with me.”

The Sword Hall Elder said, standing up, ready to lead the way.

”Changfeng, take Wuchang and the others down for healing.”

”Yes.” Guu Changfeng obeyed respectfully, walking indifferently up to Xiao Yi, lifting Xu Wuchang.

At this moment, their gazes clashed in an instant.

Xiao Yi appeared indifferent.

Guu Changfeng, however, was domineering.

He whispered.

”Don’t think that just because you defeated Xu Wuchang, you have the right to look me in the eye as an equal.”

”The Extreme Boundary Stele is not something everyone can comprehend.”

”Especially not a waste with a Beast Martial Soul of Fire Control.”

”I’m not going to let the matter of my brother go.”

”Don’t think that just because Elder Yi has your back, I can’t do anything to you.”

”Once I become Sword Master, no one can protect you.”

”You... can only wait for death, so enjoy the remaining time.”

The last sentence, Guu Changfeng’s whispered words, turned into cold, contemptuous speech.

The next second, carrying Xu Wuchang, he walked past Xiao Yi and left the Sword Hall.

”Heh,” Xiao Yi didn’t care at all in his heart.

However, what exactly was this ’Sword Master’ that Guu Changfeng mentioned?

”Xiao Yi, come with me.”

At this moment, the voice of the Sword Hall Elder interrupted Xiao Yi’s thoughts.
