Chapter 1527: Chapter 348: Plotting to Refine the Progress Pill

C-section, Chen Jiusi was very hesitant, after all, the current environment is too harsh, making it difficult to achieve a sterile environment.

It’s vastly different from the conditions of later generations, but it also has something that later generations cannot compare, which is Gang Qi. He can use the Chang Chun Skill, with its formidable power, to assist Su Yunjin with wound care.

Chen Jie doesn’t know if the Chang Chun Skill has sterilizing effects, but places that have been cared for by the Life Force have never experienced inflammation.

Thus, it can be inferred that this Chang Chun Skill certainly has its unique qualities.

Moreover, with his current Cultivation in the Middle Melting Furnace Realm, using the Chang Chun Skill can aid in the quick healing of the wound.

Normally, a C-section wound might take five to seven days to heal, but with the blessing of the Chang Chun Skill, Chen Jie can ensure that Su Yunjin’s wound heals within a day.

So, all it requires is some caution during the operation.

Thinking about this, Chen Jie made up his mind and looked at Chu Banxia, saying, ”Alright, let’s do as you say, perform a C-section to deliver the child.”

Upon hearing this, all the doctors present turned pale, as performing a C-section seems unwise.

Moreover, this method of childbirth is truly unheard and unseen of.

As a result, the doctors exchanged glances at one another, but since this was proposed by Chen Jiusi, they didn’t dare raise any objections.

Even Bai Wenjing looked solemn, as it was apparent that he was also shocked by this unprecedented method.

Thinking about this, Bai Wenjing looked at Chen Jie and said, ”Jiu Si, isn’t performing a C-section somewhat shocking? What if it fails?”

Chen Jie said, ”Master, it’s alright, at this point, this is our only option.”

Bai Wenjing knew that his disciple was resolute, and wouldn’t change his mind because of a few words, so he kept silent.

In such a major decision in life, only Chen Jiusi can make the decision.

At this moment, Chen Jie leaned over to Su Yunjin’s ear and said, ”Wife, are you afraid of a C-section?”

Su Yunjin’s body visibly trembled for a moment, but she still clenched her teeth and said, ”As long as my husband is here, Yunjin is not afraid.”

Chen Jie said, ”Mm, with your husband here, everything will be fine. Once the little one is born, I’ll give him a couple extra kicks for tormenting his mother.”

Upon hearing this, Su Yunjin said, ”Husband, I am a bit afraid actually.”

Chen Jie then embraced Su Yunjin from behind and said, ”Don’t be afraid, it’s okay, sleep for a while and everything will be fine.”

At this time, Chen Jie looked at Chu Banxia and said, ”I’m ready, are you ready?”

”I...”

When Chen Jie asked this question, Chu Banxia shuddered and then quickly said, ”Mr. Chen, I, I don’t think I am ready.”

”This, I have never tried this method, I, I...”

Chu Banxia said nervously, as it was also her first time in her career as a midwife. Chen Jie gave her a look and said, ”Don’t be afraid, I’ll direct, and you take action, first go and prepare the Powder for Anesthesia.”

The Powder for Anesthesia, a surgical anesthetic developed by the legendary doctor Hua Tuo, is recorded in the ”Book of the Later Han, Biography of Hua Tuo”: when the disease arises internally and cannot be reached by acupuncture or medicine, administering the Powder for Anesthesia via alcohol leads to insensibility, allowing the abdomen and back to be opened for the extraction or excision of the affliction.

It represents the highest level of surgery at that time, but unfortunately, midway through, Hua Tuo encountered Cao Cao, who suffered from wind disease, and Hua Tuo proposed a craniotomy, which led to his execution by Cao Cao, leaving Huaxia’s medical community with meager achievements in surgery thereafter.

Originally, Chen Jie didn’t plan to use this method, but circumstances have left him with no choice but to save his wife.

With this in mind, Chen Jie instructed Chu Banxia, ”First prepare the Powder for Anesthesia.”

Upon hearing this, Chu Banxia immediately went to prepare the formula, and the Chen Residence staff began brewing, quickly finishing the preparation.

At this time, Chen Jie said to Yin Hongmei, ”You and Cuiju go to the cellar in my room and fetch the two red jars of wine from the innermost area.”

”Yes.”

Yin Hongmei and Cuiju immediately went to fetch the wine; the wine stored in Chen Jie’s cellar was distilled high-proof liquor, including a batch distilled by Chen Jie to the highest purity, nearly resembling alcohol levels, specially used by Chen Jie for sterilizing wounds.

Yin Hongmei and the others quickly retrieved the high-proof liquor.

Chen Jie also took out two gloves made from sheep intestines from his storage ring and handed them to Chu Banxia, saying, ”Take them, put them on.”

Although Chu Banxia didn’t understand, she followed the order and put on the gloves. Chen Jie had Yin Hongmei bring over a jar of wine, then had Chu Banxia squat down, place a copper basin underneath, and told Yin Hongmei to pour the wine without the gloves touching the bottom of the basin.

Woosh...

The wine streamed over Chu Banxia’s gloves, disinfecting them.

Then Chen Jie took out his Autumn Cicada dagger, which was far sharper than an ordinary surgical knife. At this point, he instructed Cuiju to wipe it with alcohol, bake it with a flame, then wipe it again.

Upon completing these steps, Chen Jie had everyone leave the room, closing the door tightly, leaving only Chu Banxia, Yin Hongmei, and Cuiju to assist.

At this moment, Chen Jie instructed, ”Help the madam remove the extra clothing.”

Very quickly, Su Yunjin was stripped, then Chen Jie said, ”The Powder for Anesthesia.”

Chen Jie held the Powder for Anesthesia as he approached Su Yunjin’s side, saying, ”Wife, drink the medicine, sleep for a bit, and everything will be fine.”

Su Yunjin glanced at the Powder for Anesthesia, then looked at the somewhat nervous Chu Banxia.

Su Yunjin smiled and said, ”Miss Chu, thank you; husband, no matter whether I succeed in giving birth today or not, please don’t make things difficult for Miss Chu, alright?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie frowned, but Chu Banxia was deeply moved, as despite the circumstances, the lady was still considering her safety, showing that the lady was indeed kind-hearted as rumored.
