Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 1049: Chapter 258: Ni Wenjun’s Generous Gift (Part 4)

Upon hearing this, Ni Wenjun said: ”Jiu Si, are you suggesting that I also form a force entirely composed of the elders and disciples of these sects?”

Chen Jie chuckled: ”Why not?”

Hearing this, Ni Wenjun’s eyes lit up immediately, followed by a laugh: ”I understand now; Jiu Si, you’re indeed clever.”

”But brother, I can carry out the extermination, however if these people want to run, I won’t be able to catch them!”

Chen Jie laughed heartily: ”Brother, rest assured, I’ll bring the Azure Dragon Guard to bolster your forces.”

Ni Wenjun’s heart was overjoyed upon hearing this: ”Haha, good, good, with Jiu Si assisting me, it surely was the right choice to count on you, I’ll follow your lead.”

Chen Jie replied: ”Well, Brother Ni, you and I are brothers, no need for formalities.”

The two discussed and planned, and in the afternoon, Chen Jie donned an iron mask, and the higher-ups of the Azure Dragon Guard also wore masks; they didn’t want anyone to know they were involved in this operation.

So everyone had to cover their faces with masks to avoid exposing their tracks.

Ni Wenjun looked at Chen Jie at this time and said: ”Jiu Si, what’s this about?”

Chen Jie replied: ”Brother Ni, it’s confidential!”

Ni Wenjun chuckled upon hearing this: ”With this iron mask covering your face, do I still call you Jiu Si?”

Chen Jie looked at Ni Wenjun and said: ”Brother Ni, from now on outside, I’ll call you Commander Ni, and you call me Iron Face, for I am your General of Eastern Expedition, Iron Face.”

Ni Wenjun said: ”Iron Face, alright, I’ll call you Iron Face then!”

After saying so, the group set off directly from Huangzhou Prefecture, heading straight for Qianjiang Prefecture.

The two prefectures weren’t too far apart, plus this force was composed of elite disciples of at least the Refining Body Realm, so they moved quickly.

By evening, they reached Qianjiang Prefecture.

At this time, the entire Qianjiang Prefecture was controlled by the cult members of the Maitreya Sect, who were direct subordinates of Peng Yingyu, and if Ni Wenjun could stabilize the situation in Qianjiang Prefecture, they would then withdraw.

Thus, they only maintained a basic stability in Qianjiang Prefecture.

Chen Jie and his group arrived in Qianjiang Prefecture, and overnight, they posted notices.

The next morning, as people in Qianjiang Prefecture awoke, they saw the notice posted on the city wall!

[NOTICE]

[To all Martial Arts colleagues in Qianjiang Prefecture, the founding of the Tianyuan Empire is a millennial plan, and now we offer you all a path to the heavens. Our Tianyuan Empire is recruiting soldiers in Qianjiang Prefecture; those who meet the conditions may join the army.]

[1. Physically strong, free from illness, all from good families may join the army, with generous treatment]

[2. All Martial Artists may also participate and based on individual strength, receive corresponding positions: Willow Tendon Realm for squad leader, Iron Bone Realm for small flag officer, Energy Transformation for Hundred Households, Holding Core Realm for Vice Thousand Households, Wolf Smoke Realm for Thousand Households, Rainbow Realm for Colonel, and receive guidance on Martial Arts Cultivation from masters of Molten Furnace Realm!]

[All colleagues in Qianjiang Prefecture are urged to hurry and register; do princes and nobles have distinct pedigrees? Titles and ranks are within reach today; first come, first served!]

The notice was posted.

Immediately, the whole of Qianjiang Prefecture buzzed with activity, with people looking at the recruitment notice, all shaking their heads, thinking who from a good family would want to join the army; however, some families who couldn’t make ends meet did come to register.

Due to this year’s famine, the number of people registering was quite high, so the recruitment of regular soldiers went well.

But Jianghu people looked at the notice with disdain.

Golden Fish Gang in Qianjiang Prefecture.

The Gang Leader read the notice and immediately laughed heartily.

”These Maitreya Sect fools are really amusing, acting like the court and recruiting soldiers; only fools would join them!”

Upon hearing the Golden Fish Gang Leader’s words, the Bilang Sect Leader nearby said: ”Jiu Si, the Maitreya Sect is merely a branch of the Zoroastrian Sect, that Laughing Buddha Peng Yingyu is somewhat skilled, but who is Ni Wenjun to dare act arrogant, trying to recruit us? I live well here in Qianjiang Prefecture, especially since the court has been taken down; do you even know how much I’ve profited from the military chaos?”

The Iron Sword Sect Leader beside him asked the Bilang Sect Leader: ”Old Sun, how much did you profit?”

The Bilang Sect Leader then extended a hand, showing his five fingers, and the Iron Sword Sect Leader said: ”That much?”

And the Iron Sword Sect Leader overturned his palms a couple of times, instantly unsettling the Golden Fish Gang Leader, who said to the Bilang Sect Leader: ”Old boy, you profited that much?”

The Bilang Sect Leader laughed: ”This is what it means to reap the rewards of Maitreya Sect’s efforts, while we enjoy the shade. Hahaha...”

The Golden Fish Gang Leader said: ”Exactly, let that Ni Wenjun be left staring blankly, we won’t go to work hard for him; I have wine and meat every day, and beauties attending me. Why be a soldier under someone’s command, it’s pointless, pointless!”

The Iron Sword Sect Leader said: ”Exactly, regardless who becomes the Emperor, they cannot control us; let’s eat and drink in Qianjiang, being our own rulers, who can control us!”

”That’s right, at most, whoever comes, we just spend some gold and silver to send them off, it’s like feeding dogs, right folks?”

”Exactly, feeding dogs, hahaha...”

After seeing Ni Wenjun’s notice, all was exceptionally calm in Qianjiang Prefecture, not a single major sect came forward to surrender, though a few small sects did.

Ni Wenjun glanced around, realizing their strength was average, but even the smallest bit was still valuable meat, so he directly formed a new team, becoming Ni Wenjun’s first batch of soldiers.

Ni Wenjun looked at the empty recruitment square and said to Chen Jie: ”Jiu, ahem, Iron Face my dear brother, it’s been a day yet none of the major sects have come to join us, seems like they’re determined to give no face at all.”
