Chapter 1031: Chapter 255: Chen Jie: Brother Ni, We Meet Again

”To thoroughly reach the peak of life! This is also what he has sought for all his life.”

Peng Yingyu spoke.

Ni Wenjun listened, with longing in his eyes, said: ”Martial arts and power, both reaching the top, a true man should be like this.”

Peng Yingyu didn’t speak, Ni Wenjun said: ”Old Peng, your realm is rather high, who do you think will win between Han Shantong and Basiba in this battle?”

Peng Yingyu smiled and said: ”Unknowable.”

Ni Wenjun said: ”Is it unknowable or you don’t want to say?”

Peng Yingyu said: ”The ninth layer of Qiankun Great Method is already his strongest Cultivation Technique, his Martial Arts realm has reached its end. If he cannot win, it means he cannot win in this life, so he must courageously step forward; win or lose, it’s a path he must walk!”

Ni Wenjun didn’t understand.

Monk Peng sighed and said: ”Alright, these matters are not for us to consider anymore, we’re here in Hubei for a significant task.”

Ni Wenjun said: ”I know, how is your side arranged? My side with Tianmen and Qianjiang prefectures is already settled. Huangzhou Prefecture is Jiu Si’s territory. When I have time, I will meet with Jiu Si and ask for his opinion. I think he won’t ignore his elder brother’s face.”

Monk Peng responded: ”Yes, Jiu Si should have no problem; this battle in the Central Plains is indeed a good chance for our Maitreya Sect to revolt.”

Ni Wenjun said: ”Old Peng, rest assured, this time, there’s no issue. So, you find a place to rest first. Tonight, I will go to Huangzhou Prefecture to meet Jiu Si and discuss our plan.”

Peng Yingyu nodded lightly and said: ”Alright.”

After speaking, Peng Yingyu drifted away casually, as Ni Wenjun confirmed a direction and headed straight to Huangzhou Prefecture City.

This time, Peng Yingyu gathered Ni Wenjun in Hubei with a simple goal, which was to occupy Hubei and establish his emperor, Xu Shouhui.

At that time, using Hubei as a foundation to build an Empire and plan for great ambitions.

Ni Wenjun was responsible for the uprising activities in the three prefectures of Huangzhou, Qianjiang, and Tianmen, with Huangzhou Prefecture being his last stop.

The others, such as Qianjiang and Tianmen prefectures, were already arranged. As soon as the Central Plains battle starts, the uprising activities in Hubei Road will begin, led by Peng Yingyu, assisted by Ni Wenjun, along with Peng Yingyu’s six senior disciples, making the whole Hubei certainly the possession of their Maitreya Sect.

After all, Peng Yingyu is cautious, not greedy, taking advantage while others focus on the Central Plains battle. He occupies Hubei, neither the Northwest King Qi Li Siqi nor the Southeast Ruyang King would react in time, he finishes the occupation, even if they come to attack, he can withstand it.

Moreover, by doing this, he can also divert some pressure from Han Shantong and others in the Central Plains battle. At least, the nearby Li Siqi and Ruyang King would not dare to fully head north as Imperial Guards, which is certainly a great help to his old friends.

As for helping Han Shantong overthrow the court.

This is something Peng Yingyu would not do. First, if he helps, it would mean admitting what he did back then was wrong, that his path was wrong.

Secondly, even if he truly heads north, Han Shantong might not be willing; after all, this battle is actually a way to realize Han Shantong’s dream. If successful, he would become the true number one in the world.

Martial arts first, power first.

If failed, that would also ensure a place in history, drawing a perfect end to his life.

So respecting others’ lives without interference is Peng Yingyu’s gentleness.

...

In the night, the Chen Residence seemed very quiet.

Chen Jie lay on the bed, with his wife Su Yunjin beside him.

Swoosh!

Just then, a black shadow suddenly swept past the door, causing Chen Jie to awake instantly, glancing at his peacefully sleeping wife.

He got out of bed silently, put on his clothes.

And walked out the door.

Swoosh!

As soon as Chen Jie stepped out, he saw a figure again drift away from afar, leading him toward a secluded spot in the backyard.

Chen Jie frowned, closed the door and quickly followed using Thunderbolt Step.

Soon he arrived at the back garden, where everything was eerily quiet.

Chen Jie got there and found no one around, furrowing his brows tightly, suddenly dodging aside as a punch came toward him from the side.

He dodged and immediately countered with a palm strike.

As the person saw Chen Jie’s palm strike, they countered with a palm strike as well.

With a slap, Chen Jie felt as though his palm hit a mountain, being forced back repeatedly.

At this moment, the person coldly said: ”Hehe, Chen Jiusi, your time of death has come, I was sent by Elder Quan to kill you!”

Chen Jie smiled upon hearing this: ”Brother Ni, since when did you become one of Elder Quan’s men?”

”Uh?”

Ni Wenjun, seeing his disguise immediately revealed by Chen Jie, said: ”Boring, I thought I could scare you for a bit.”

Saying this, Ni Wenjun tore the black cloth from his face, revealing his heroic face: ”Jiu Si, we meet again.”

Chen Jie looked at his long-lost Brother Ni in front of him, clasped his fists and said: ”Greetings Brother Ni.”

Ni Wenjun seeing this, said: ”Haha, good brother, no need to be so polite.”

He moved forward to hug Chen Jie, surprised by Ni Wenjun’s openness, then Ni Wenjun said: ”It’s been nearly two years since we met, I didn’t expect you would truly astonish me, lad!”

”Silent and unnoticed, you’ve reached Wolf Smoke Realm, I truly wonder what you’ve been eating to grow like this.”

”Brother Ni, that’s just a joke.”

”Since parting at Xiantao Village, no news from brother in these two years, has everything been well for you, brother?”
