The Versatile Master Artist

”Alright, let’s go with that.”

Anna didn’t expend much effort to persuade Detective Cat Sister to take on the task of illustrating ”The Heated World”.

”Okay, I’ll choose some background and materials related to the novel and send them to you; it’s best to read them over the next couple of days to establish some preliminary understanding of the work. As always, we have to set aside time for a phone call every day...”

They briefly discussed some task details.

Anna provided a reading list for Detective Cat to browse through completely before starting the official creation.

During her completion of ”The Little Prince.”

Anna hoped Detective Cat could simplify matters, empty her mind, and forget all the literary discussions about ”The Little Prince” on the internet.

Don’t even look at the expert analyses.

Like a blank sheet of paper, use your heart to project and render Saint-Exupéry’s literary thoughts.

However, this task takes the opposite approach.

”The Little Prince” is a fairytale with zero reading barrier.

”The Heated World” is a difficult utopian style novel; although its narrative style is close to fairytales, it’s filled with scientific and political allegory between the lines.

This is very similar to ”Gulliver’s Travels.”

If you directly read without any accumulation, you would only see some boring adventure scenes of battles between adult country and Lilliput.

If you compare certain accumulated literature, you can completely read a completely different work.

”Gulliver’s Travels” reflects the party struggle between the Whig Party and the Tory Party in the British Parliament.

While the plot in ”The Heated World” subtly reflects the political struggle between Robert Hooke and Isaac Newton.

Robert Hooke is the discoverer of Hooke’s Law, proposer of wave theory, founder of microscopy, and the famous Royal Observatory, Greenwich is his design.

He is also Sir Newton’s primary political rival in the Royal Society, the battle between Hooke and Newton is regarded as the drama in the history of science.

Allegedly, after Lord Niu succeeded Hooke to become the president of the Royal Society of Science, he stingily ordered all the association portraits of Hooke in oil paintings to be destroyed.

Lady Cavendish wrote this speculative science fiction novel.

Back then used it to satirize the rising in prominence Robert Hooke in 1666.

Before reading this booklet, even shorter than ”The Little Prince”.

Anna provided a bunch of quirky supplementary materials, including ”Royal Society Chronicles,” ”Particle Theory,” and ”From Absolutism to Experimentalism,” these three hard and profound books.

It’s okay if you can’t finish them or understand them.

At least read through their long Wikipedia entries to know what these things are.

The conversation ended.

Anna felt a bit unsatiated.

”The Heated World” is a very short story, it’s expected to require no more than ten illustrations, completing this task shouldn’t take long.

In terms of size and impact, it’s destined to be difficult to compare to ”The Little Prince.”

It’s merely an award substitution when no suitable choice is available.

Miss Elina hoped to find a precious mission that could produce significant improvements in Detective Cat’s career in a comprehensive sense.

Actually...

”Such a task is not impossible.”

Anna hesitated for a moment.

She opened the computer email of her Mr. Tree Sloth account.

A letter specially pinned by the girl lay at the top of the computer screen.

Strictly speaking, this email is not an illustration request but rather—a request for help from an elderly father.

[Dear Mr. Tree Sloth:]

[I read Lady Detective Cat’s new edition of ”The Little Prince” book, which is impressive.

In my career, it’s rare to see such talented newcomers and such stunning painting work. First, congratulations to you and your represented artist for producing an illustrated fairytale that will add color to many children’s lives!

In my heart, this is the very meaning of our industry’s existence.

I understand at this moment, ”The Little Prince” has just been released and will accompany many promotional activities, and after creating such moving illustrations, Lady Detective Cat may wish to enjoy a relatively leisurely holiday.

I am indeed sorry to bother her at this time.

However, my private doctor suggests that for the sake of my autistic son Tony’s health, I hope to contact this illustrator who possesses magical painting skills.

This past March, Tony just turned forty-one, I hope you may understand the feelings of a father tormented by autism for forty-one years.

I own a small house in New Zealand Emerald Lake Town, where one can see beautiful and breathtaking scenery, I wonder if I may have the honor to invite Lady Detective Cat to visit my home.

Looking forward to your reply.

Again, I apologize for disturbing you.

——Your faithful Jean Jacques Arno]

Last weekend, Miss Elina was startled when she saw the content of this email appearing in her inbox.

Whether ”The Little Prince” holds magical effects in autism treatment remains to be seen.

But the expectations of parents have already been sparked.

While some anxious parents are still searching for the new book on Amazon, others have already magically sent the emails to the mailbox of the detective cat agent.

Considering the final brief signature in the email, the other party being able to contact her is indeed within the realm of possibility.
