The Versatile Master Artist

Anna’s legs are not convenient.

She simply booked two adjacent private compartments, with her two close attendants staying next door.

Two minutes later,

the attendant dressed in a black and white pinafore brought both the computer and coffee from the dining cart to the table in front of Anna’s armchair.

”Hmm, at least the contract looks formal.”

Miss Elina reviewed the contract content on the computer screen, repeatedly scrolling through the pages and occasionally highlighting some specific clauses.

When the girl browsed the contract, the content she focused on was nearly identical to what Mrs. Sakai scrutinized.

Each gallery’s standard contract bears its unique style; one can deduce a lot about whether a gallery is reputable just by looking at the contract clauses.

She did not see any particularly troublesome conditions, only slightly pausing at the parts regarding the share and duration.

”15 years, a 70% commission?” Anna contemplated briefly.

This contract copy contained the terms and quotes prepared even before Hanks first came to Yangon.

The commission is neither good nor bad.

It’s just that the duration is a bit too long, but if it’s the Intercontinental Gallery that Lady Detective Cat mentioned, Anna could understand.

She temporarily set it aside and meticulously reviewed the related fields of agency content.

”Restricting auctions, this contract term is not very favorable.”

Anna shook her head slightly.

For an illustrator to rise to prominence and break out of their circle, cooperation with auction houses is inevitable.

KAWS is a frequent guest at auctions.

Even Takashi Murakami, whose art style bears similarities to his, often collaborates with galleries and auction houses for joint promotions, hyping up figurines, trendy toys, and printed illustrations priced over five million US dollars.

It’s not to say whether Detective Cat will follow this path in the future, or if she can reach this level.

But these terms already kill this possibility.

Anna picked up her phone again.

Besides going through tunnels under the sea and over some mountain ranges, the Eurostar train, as the pride of the long-standing European railway industry, has phone signal throughout.

Anna wasn’t in a hurry to respond to Detective Cat and instead selected a name from her alumni directory and dialed.

The art industry, financial sector, and political circles all highly regard personal connections in their fields.

High-end individuals often graduate as schoolmates from the same institution.

Certain colleges at the University of Oxford provided over thirty percent of senior bureaucrats in Britain in the eighties and nineties.

And the WYN Art Academy, where Anna attended university, is one of Europe’s oldest art schools.

It is renowned for two things worldwide.

It has an arts theory and cultural studies department ranked among the top five in Europe for many years, and the art school once refused a mustached young art student aspiring to enter this college for two consecutive years in 1907 and 1908.

Excluding this unpleasant little episode that impacted human history,

since the 21st century, WYN Art Academy continues to nurture a multitude of high-end talents in the elite art industry.

Many from the upper class also send their children here to cultivate their artistic sensibilities.

For instance, Anna,

and her former roommate Aurora, who is now a senior executive manager at the largest private gallery in Bern, Switzerland, with reviewing art agency contracts completely within her professional scope.

In fact, just reviewing legal contracts, Anna didn’t necessarily need to consult Aurora.

The Ilyena family has a long-term consulting agreement with the most historical law firm in Glitz City. Anna has access to professional private legal advisers.

But,

she couldn’t help a little curiosity in her heart.

”Aurora, help me look at a contract... By the way, you’re a professional, can you tell which gallery’s contract template and style this is?”

As soon as the call connected, Anna couldn’t help but ask curiously.
