The Versatile Master Artist

Even if the contract is short now, he’ll still be able to renew it any way he wants in the future.

The reason he didn’t do it this way is not that Hanks doesn’t want to put the bit tightly on the little donkey he bought, but mainly for the sake of Professor Jiu Kai Yicheng, the intermediary introducer.

Bullying those clueless country bumpkins is one thing.

The ”friends” introduced by the great artist Professor Jiu Kai Yicheng, Hanks doesn’t dare to cheat.

Before he came to Yangon, he did some background research and knew that Professor Jiu Kai Yicheng stayed in Yangon for more than a month at the beginning of the year and participated in the Myanmar Government’s Great Golden Pagoda restoration project.

Hanks even knows that Gu Weijing and his grandfather are also on the list for this project.

He speculated that it was at this time that Professor Yajima unintentionally discovered Gu Weijing’s talent and developed a fondness for him, which is why that night he easily recommended Gu Weijing to Ma Shi Gallery.

With this family’s status and position, they are far from being qualified to associate with such a great artist as Professor Jiu Kai Yicheng and shouldn’t have any overly close relationship with Professor Yajima.

Even so,

This contract from Hanks is still quite good.

The painting circle truly speaks with naked power, sales determine social standing in this vast ocean.

The essence of art is a game of big fish eating small fish.

Grand galleries eat small galleries, great artists eat small artists, whoever is at the top of the food chain has the most right to speak.

The sales of Gu Weijing are zero, so he is merely plankton.

Dike Anren can sell five million dollars worth of paintings a year, he is the hammerhead shark that Ma Shi Gallery cautiously serves.

Professor Jiu Kai Yicheng can sell artworks worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

In these waters, even if he isn’t the Cthulhu sea monster lurking in the deep abyss with forty-five tentacles, he is definitely a plump blue whale.

Such a master, even if he can’t be signed, must still be given enough respect.

Even if Professor Yajima recommended this Gu Weijing and then put him out of mind, Hanks doesn’t dare to act too excessively.

Unfortunately—

He doesn’t know why.

On the phone, Professor Yajima’s tone was full of appreciation for this young man, yet there was no intention of accepting him as a disciple.

Otherwise, why bother arranging for Gu Weijing to go to Dike Anren’s studio.

If he could become the beloved direct disciple in Professor Jiu Kai Yicheng’s personal studio, just this alone would be worth the big boss Ma Shi III personally reviewing the contract.

The driver wearing white gloves drives like an invisible transparent person, the cabin is without a radio and no music is played.

The thick aluminum doors and double-layer laminated glass isolate the majority of the noise from the road, making the black Mercedes-Benz drive like it’s floating in the air.

The silence is rather awkward.

Gu Weijing has felt somewhat awkwardly uneasy since he got in the car.

In the passenger seat, the blonde, blue-eyed Mrs. Sakai is always watching him through the car’s rear-view mirror, her gaze carries a stronger scrutinizing meaning than usual on top of its usual lofty arrogance.

The girl sitting beside him noticed his nervousness and gently extended her hand, lightly holding Gu Weijing’s palm.

Gu Weijing is very sure.

This scene fell into the eyes of Mrs. Sakai in the front row.

The noblewoman squinted her eyes, the dangerous look in her eyes reminded one of a hunter gazing at a country pig that was running wild in their cabbage field.

Just when he suspected Mrs. Sakai might let the car stop and throw him into the Yangon River next to them, she turned her gaze away.

”There’s orange juice in Zhong Dao’s refrigerator, if you’re thirsty, get it yourself,” the blonde auntie said coldly.
