The Versatile Master Artist

The restaurant is devoid of common individuals.

Anna glanced at the promotional board in the nearby hallway, covered with various signed photos, including superstars like Tom Cruise and C Luo.

”Mr. Lamqi’s restaurant only invites public figures with over a million followers to leave a signature, right?”

”Your videos have surpassed three hundred million views. The chef believes, if someone as impressive and beautiful as you were to open an account, attracting a million followers would be a matter of moments.”

British men aren’t as flamboyant as those from France or Italy, but waiters in such restaurants can offer compliments effortlessly.

”If it’s convenient for you, Madam, the chef would also like to invite you to participate in the next recording of his TikTok cooking class.”

”When I’m interested in learning to cook, I’ll give Mr. Ramsay a call. As for the signature, I’ll pass.” Anna politely shook her head, dismissing the waiter.

”Hmm... not considering it at all?”

Osborne watched the waiter leave, shaking his head a bit regretfully, ”The signature Wellington steak here costs 89 pounds, yet no one wants the autograph of a middle-aged man like me.”

”My treat, Uncle Osborne.” Anna smiled and said, ”Thank you for your help.”

She flew to London specifically to meet Osborne.

She promised Lady Detective Cat that she could handle the issue of changing the cover art.

In reality, executing it was fraught with obstacles far beyond what the word ”difficult” could describe.

The ”Little Prince” project team, from top to bottom, had little motivation for revision and rework.

After sending several emails with little effect, Anna simply flew from Austria to London to speak with President Osborne face-to-face.

She spent considerable effort and only managed to finalize everything this afternoon.

”Alright then, I’ll enjoy this meal guilt-free. Anna, you have no idea how troublesome this was. The entire project team was grumbling. We were originally on a tight schedule to meet the Easter promotional period, and the timeline was incredibly tight. The early publicity had already begun. The printing plant’s production line was fully booked as well. In fact, reformatting is the minor issue; the printing coordinators are the ones who’ve been driven almost mad.”

Osborne chuckled, ”From last night until today, I had him cornered in the office, making revisions repeatedly. By the end, the poor guy was nearly hysterical. I have no doubt he wanted to swallow me whole.”

The printing costs for art books are several times higher than those for ordinary publications.

Besides the cost of the paper itself, the high expense lies in color calibration.

The two most common printing methods in the industry are monochrome printing or CMYK four-color printing. Monochrome printing uses only black to print a book, the cheapest method.

In four-color printing,

C stands for Cyan, M for Magenta, Y for Yellow, and K for Black. All other colors are mixed from these four base pigments. Over 99% of the colored books available are printed using the CMYK four-color model.

But the expressive capabilities of excellent artists go beyond the simple palette of four colors.

This can result in issues like gray not being gray enough, blue not being blue enough, and purple not being purple enough.

Depending on storage conditions, storage period, and environmental temperatures, single-color pigments can also result in color variations during printing. Not only might the printed works differ from the original artwork, but even drawing two books from different batches can show slight color discrepancies in mass printing.

The issue of color deviation isn’t severe. Many art books, to lower costs, also settle for CMYK four-color printing.

However, if the publisher has stricter requirements and a sufficient budget, there are better options: using specially customized special inks and production lines for printing.

Not only in art book printing but also in printing currency, similar methods are used; mass printing merely helps to lower costs.

In ”Unrivaled,” the ”Chameleon Ink” used by Brother Fa is a type of special ink.

Besides the ink, there must also be a color-adjustment expert to make fine manual tweaks to achieve results that are nearly identical to the printing files in the final product.
