Strongest Mage with the Lust system

Chapter 1035: Reaching Marrow Cleansing

After Nie Zhulong left, the Judicial Officer looked at Mr. Wang and ordered, “Take a team of Late Stage Bone Tempering realm subordinates and bring the Golden Book to me.”

“Yes, My Lord.” Mr. Wang gave a salute, then turned around and walked out of the office. A short while later, he left the city with three late Bone Tempering realm cultivators dressed in judicial office’s official robes.

The black shadow silently materialized behind the Judicial Officer and a cold voice sounded in his ears, “Dark Valley is dangerous. You should have gone there yourself.”

The Judicial Officer didn’t respond and continued staring in front of him with a pensive look on his face.

The shadow lingered behind him for a while, then it let out a dissatisfied growl before vanishing.

…

Pssshhh!

The moment Max felt the presence behind him, he immediately threw himself forward to the ground but he was a second too late as cold and sharp claws slashed through his upper back and his hot blood splashed out.

SWOOSH–!

As he tried to stand back up while fighting the pain, the mid-stage Tier 4 beasts lunged at him along with several Tier 3 ones.

Max’s expression darkened with anger.

SHING—!

Even before he fully stood up, he slashed out in a wide arc and both the mid-stage beasts’ necks were slashed through.

He then kicked one Tier 3 beast away while punching the other in the head with his free head. Immediately, the beast’s skull was smashed and it fell limp to the ground.

“Argh!”

Unfortunately, because he had fallen in a disadvantageous situation at the start, he failed to dodge other Tier 3 beasts, some of which managed to slash and bite at him. One’s claw even reached his inner thigh, dangerously close to his family jewels.

His anger flared. Ignoring several attacks coming his way, his gaze locked on that one and a moment later, he slashed it into two.

Right then, he once again felt that presence behind him but unlike before, he was ready for it. He held the saber behind him, guarding his back.

Clang!!!

The sound of metal clashing with metal rang out and the force behind the attack made the flat of the saber hit his back.

Swoosh!

He instantly turned around and finally saw this deadly sneak-attacker. It was also a cat-like beast and was of the same size as other beasts but Max instantly knew it was in the late stage of Tier 4.

Kkrrrrr!

When their eyes met, it shirked and swiped its claw at his neck at an extremely fast speed.

Max’s expression remained placid and instead of trying to dodge it, he took a large step forward.

Shua!

Its hand hit his neck, the claw hanging a foot behind.

“…”

For a split second, the beast was stunned as it watched its hand resting on Max’s shoulder.

SHLICK—!

Then just as it was about to flex its claw and behead him, Max, while staring dead into its large, black eyes, thrusted the saber into its neck from below and the broken tip came out from its head.

[You have killed a Late Stage Tier 4 Dark Attributed beast.]

[You have gained 1.1 Million Kill Points.]

Max’s eyes lit up when he saw this message. Then with a renewed vigor, he began slaughtering the remaining Tier 3 beasts.

A while later, when he was done and glanced at his status screen, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

[Kill Points: 2.85 Million—> 6.75 Million]

This batch of beasts had given almost 4 Million Kill Points.

“Let’s rush to the Marrow Cleansing realm.” He muttered under his breath and raised his hand to click the (+) symbol but then he paused and asked the system, “My Garfield Bloodline generated some bloodline energy when I killed that late stage Tier 4 cat, right? How long can it keep the Overdrive active?”

[Exactly two minutes if you only plan to use it to resist the pain brought by the increase in your cultivation.] answered the system.

“That’s good enough.” Max nodded in satisfaction and activated the Overdrive with a thought. He then clicked the (+) symbol behind the cultivation section.

[Do you want to use 5.5 Million Kill Points to increase your cultivation to Bone Tempering, 9th Layer? (Yes)/(No)]

‘Yes’ he clicked and then waited until his cultivation information in the status screen changed.

[Cultivation: Bone Tempering, 9th Layer] (+)

[Lust Points: 100,000]

[Kill Points: 6.75 Million—>1.25 Million]

Without stopping, he once again increased his cultivation.

[Do you want to use 1 Million Kill Points to increase your cultivation to Marrow Cleansing, 1st Layer? (Yes)/(Yes)]

He clicked ‘Yes’ and instantly, he began to convulse.

‘Huh?’ The next moment, he lost his balance and thudded to the ground.

Thud!

After the initial surprise and confusion, he calmed down and began to control his involuntary convulsions.

After suffering the pain with each advancement in his cultivation, he knew he would feel in the Marrow Cleansing realm too and since Marrow was situated in the deepest parts of the human body, the pain he would feel would be even more overwhelming.

This was the reason why he chose to activate the Overdrive to fight it off.

Seconds ticked by and he continued to convulse thought they were not as violent since he was constantly trying to suppress them.

30 seconds…

25…

15…

5… 4… 3…

‘Come on!’ He shouted inwardly while staring at his status screen, hoping his cultivation realm would update soon.

2…

Ba-Dum!

His heart began racing and his eyes bulged. While he was no longer weak and his will was quite firm, he had a premonition that the pain he was currently feeling was most likely worse than any pain he had ever felt until now, his experience in the Magic World included.

1…

Two minutes were up. His heart sank and he gritted his jaws as tightly as he could.

The next moment, a pain so hellish that it instantly overwhelmed his mind, exploded throughout his body.

“Arrggghhhhhhh!!!!”
