Strongest Mage with the Lust system

Chapter 913: Recovering the Bloodline Sense

”For over ten days now, Elder Milo has tried giving the Young Lord all kinds of medicine to help you. All of them were Spirit Realm medicine. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any effect.” Dan told him.

”I see.” Max’s expression turned grave upon hearing this.

If none of the medicine worked on him, would the Blood Nourishing medicine he had requested be of any use?

He hoped they would and would be able to help awaken his Bloodline Sense at least so he could take a stock of his situation.

Otherwise...

’I might have to ask Grand Elder Rowan’s help.’ He thought.

He knew Grand Elder Rowan was favoring him and seemed to be a decent person, but he was rather unwilling to expose his secrets to him because the chances of him developing other ideas were always there.

That was why, he really hoped that whatever was making the medicine ineffective on him had already subsided.

...

An hour later, Elder Milo returned with 50 Mana Crystals, and three bottles of medicine.

”These Mana Crystals should be enough for you to recover your mana, but if they aren’t, don’t hesitate to tell me. I’ll arrange for more.” Elder Milo said while handing the things over to him before pointing at the three medicine bottles.

”These are Beast Spirit Blood Pellets. They are a specialty of our Beast Emperor Hall and are 50% more effective than best Tier 5 Blood Nourishing items available in the market outside. Each bottle has 10 pellets. Don’t take more than one at a time and take another only after you have completely digested the first one to avoid possible complications.”

”Mm?” Max raised his brows and looked at him strangely.

Didn’t he just say it was Beast Emperor Hall’s speciality? How could a force’s specialty product have any glaring side effects?

Elder Milo shook his head, ”Don’t doubt me. This pellet is really very good. The only downside is that since it is created from the magic beasts’ blood, if the medicinal energy in your body crosses a certain limit, the mixed beasts’ blood can turn violent and cause injuries.”

”I understand.” Max nodded. ”I will be mindful of that.”

”Good.” Elder Milo handed him a communication crystal, ”Contact me whenever necessary.”

Then, as he was about to leave, Max spoke up, ”Elder...”

”Hm, What is it?” Elder Milo curiously looked at him.

Max took a breath and bowed lightly but sincerely, saying, ”Thank you for everything you have done for me. I won’t ever forget that.”

A hint of satisfaction flickered in Elder Milo’s eyes. After letting out a quiet ’Mhm’, he left.

...

Max had Dan leave the cave before he activated the cave’s formations, sat cross-legged and placed the Beast Spirit Blood Pellets in front of him.

He then closed his eyes and began meditating to enter a focused state. A few minutes later, he opened one of the bottles, took out a Pellet and placed it in his mouth before chewing it a few times and swallowing it.

Buzz!

Metallic medicinal energy burst forth within his body and began to run amok within his stomach. Because he couldn’t connect with his dantian and his Bloodline Sense was dormant, he had no choice but to let it do whatever it desired.

Cough!

Just a moment later, he coughed out blood, pain spreading throughout his body along with the medicinal energy.

Seeing this, Max couldn’t help but let out a somewhat bleak sigh in his heart. If his physique hadn’t degraded to the mortal level, even if this medicinal energy was more violent, apart from some discomfort, it wouldn’t have done anything, let alone make him cough out blood.

Time slowly passed. Two hours later, pain began to subside.

After a while, he wiped the sweat off his face, again calmed his mind and felt his condition.

He was no longer feeling as weak as before, unfortunately, however, his Bloodline Sense was dormant.

Thus, after waiting for another hour for medicinal energy to completely calm down, he took another pellet.

Once again he coughed out blood and felt intense pain. Then a little more than two hours later, the pain began to subside again.

He checked his condition... his Bloodline Sense remained unmoving. So, he took another, then another and another.

Each time, the duration of pain increased and it became increasingly unbearable—the berserk medicinal energy was injuring his internal organs. If he could look inside himself, he would see his stomach, the first place to endure the energy’s onslaught, was almost completely shredded.

Despite the pain and his hazy consciousness, there was a smile on his bloody but pale face.

After endure the medicinal energy’s torture for two days and finishing two bottle of Beast Spirit Blood Pellets, his Bloodline Sense had finally... awoken.

’Let’s see...’

Thud!

He was about to activate it and scan himself, but just as the thought formed in his mind, his vision blanked out and he fell back, unconscious. Blood still trickling out from the corner of his lips, pooling underneath his head.

A day later, he regained consciousness, feeling extremely feeble. He didn’t even have the energy to sit up, so he remained lying there and slowly activated his Bloodline Sense.

...

Phew!

A short while later, Max exhaled softly and stared at the ceiling with a blank look in his eyes, his mind shifting to the memory of the day he removed the devilish energy from Rima’s body.

...

After realizing Rima was going to die, it was as if something had shattered inside him. He had lost all senses and couldn’t feel anything but grief, overwhelming grief.

Then after what seemed like a long time, his mind cleared up and he felt something unusual in his dantian.

When he looked inside, he saw a cloud of swirling pink and dark energies—Nascent, Death and Devil Energy. At some point, the Death Core had shattered and merged with the remaining Nascent and Devil Energy and formed this cloud.

He was startled.

Both the Death and Devil Energies were very destructive and violent. And the amount of Nascent Energy he had in his dantian wasn’t enough to forcefully stop them going berserk, let alone when they had merged like this. But now, except from some occasional undulations, the energy cloud was completely calm.

Before he could think what was happening, he found himself believing that he could use this energy cloud to extract the devilish energy from Rima.

Without hesitation, he went over and placed a hand on Rima’s chest and carefully poured in the energy from the energy cloud, connecting it to the devilish energy within her.

Right as both energy came into contact...

BOOM!

The devilish energy rushed out of her and entered his body through his palm in an unstoppable torrent.

Unlike the Death and Devil Energy that had become docile within the energy cloud, this devilish energy was violent and began damaging his body as it followed the energy of the energy cloud towards his dantian.

For a moment, he thought before it reached his dantian, he would explode and die, but right then, the energy cloud’s energy fluctuated and... his refined physique began degrading rapidly.

By the time all the devilish energy was extracted, he had become too weak, his senses going haywire—he had become incapable of even staying conscious, let alone assessing his condition. That was why, the moment he walked out of the room and told the Medical Elder to heal her, he passed out.

...

Sigh!

He sighed and looked within him again... within his dantian which now looked completely different than it used to be.
