Apocalypse: King of Zombies

All eyes were locked on the battlefield as the thick smoke and dust slowly cleared, revealing a tall, lean figure standing calmly in the center.

Ethan stood there, face composed, eyes cool and steady as he stared directly at LORN.

What stunned everyone was that his white fur coat—pristine and snowy—remained spotless, not a speck of dust on it.

”He’s still not hurt?”

The surrounding zombies widened their eyes in disbelief.

That tri-element fusion energy blast from the Gen-5 Cyborg had been insanely powerful, yet Ethan looked like he hadn’t even flinched—like it didn’t touch him at all.

”This guy’s unreal…”

”No way… It’s gotta be an illusion!”

”How the hell do you beat someone like that?”

”…”

The scene before them was enough to crush anyone’s hope.

LORN’s brows furrowed tightly. This so-called Zombie King… was way beyond what he’d expected.

But what happened next left them even more stunned.

Ethan slowly raised his hand and placed it on the buttons of his white fur coat. Calm and unhurried, he began to undo them one by one.

”Just got this coat a few days ago. Would be a shame to get it dirty.”

”…” A wave of silence swept through the zombies. Was he seriously… worried about his clothes right now?

Especially Logan—he felt a strange twinge in his chest and muttered under his breath, ”My wife made that, you know…”

Once Ethan slipped off the fur coat, he revealed a crisp white dress shirt underneath. He undid that too, button by button.

His chest came into view—broad, muscular—and then his abs, sharply defined and perfectly proportioned, like something carved by a divine hand.

The truth was, Ethan had to admit—this Gen-5 Cyborg wasn’t just for show. The guy was dangerous.

Which meant… the real fight was just getting started.

The surrounding zombies stared, jaws slack, minds reeling.

LORN’s expression darkened even more.

”What the hell is wrong with this guy?”

”Who strips in the middle of a fight?!”

”…”

After removing his clothes, Ethan stored everything neatly into his spatial storage ring. He also put away the radiant Star Map tablet—though it was a handy tool, his greatest weapon was still his own body, the body of the Zombie King.

At the same time, a fierce, overwhelming aura began to radiate from him. The pressure of the Zombie King intensified, thick and suffocating.

A faint blood mist curled around Ethan’s body—an aftereffect of absorbing Bloodrose’s crystal core. It was a sign of just how powerful his physique had become.

”He’s a monster…”

Bulldozer, Laura, and the other Zombie Kings turned to look at him, awe written all over their faces.

And then—excitement. Their leader was about to go all in. The exhaustion they’d felt moments ago vanished, replaced by a surge of raw energy. Their bloodlust reignited.

”ROOOAAARRR—!”

The American Zombie Horde let out a deafening howl that shook the sky.

Even Sophia and the rest of the Vampire Race felt a chill run down their spines. Under the influence of the most powerful Zombie King in America, the morale of the horde skyrocketed.

Elegy ran her fingers across her instrument, unleashing a new battle anthem—louder, fiercer, more intense.

A massive wave of black mist surged into the air, swallowing the battlefield in darkness.

”They’re back…”

”They’re all back!”

With a thunderous roar, the American Zombie Horde charged forward, their fighting spirit blazing. They slammed into the Canadian Zombie Horde with renewed fury, tearing through them like wild beasts. The battlefield turned into a frenzy of blood and chaos.

”Hold the line! This is their final push!” Sophia shouted, her voice sharp and urgent as she scanned the battlefield.

From her read on the situation, if they could just withstand this last assault from the American Zombie Horde, they could wear them down and claim ultimate victory.

This was it—the darkest hour before dawn.

The Canadian Zombie Horde, hearing her command, let out savage roars, their morale reignited. They braced themselves for the final showdown.

But just then, the battlefield shifted again—violently.

From the sky, a barrage of energy blasts came screaming down like a meteor storm, slamming into the Canadian ranks with devastating force.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions erupted across the field, shockwaves tearing through the air. The ground shook as bodies were blown apart, limbs and torsos scattered like broken dolls.

Sophia was caught in the blast radius, thrown to the ground, her face smeared with ash and dirt.

”What the hell…”

The sudden ambush left them stunned. At first, when they saw the Crystal Core Blasters, they thought Genesis Biotech had sent reinforcements.

But when they looked up—

They saw figures hovering in the sky, jet boosters flaring beneath their feet, blue flames roaring. Their bodies were cybernetically enhanced, metal plating gleaming coldly under the light.

But their faces—were unmistakably undead. Pale. Horrific.

”It’s him! He’s here!”

Sophia’s crimson eyes locked onto one of the figures, her expression twisting in fear. She’d seen them before—back in Los Angeles. She recognized them instantly.

It was him. One of Ethan’s deadliest lieutenants—PhD.

Just the memory of him sent a chill down her spine. The carnage in L.A. had left a scar on her psyche, and now that fear came rushing back.

PhD might not be the strongest under Ethan’s command, but in terms of overall capability? He was top-tier. No question.

Meanwhile, Malcolm—already battered and broken from Logan’s relentless assault—looked up in despair, only to see even more enemies arriving.

”You’ve gotta be kidding me… What the hell are those things? Flying zombies?!”

”I lost in L.A. because of them,” Sophia growled through clenched teeth.

”…What?” Malcolm’s face paled as the pieces started to click.

The American Zombie Horde was a damn circus of horrors. First the tank battalion, now the freaking rocketeers…

And it didn’t stop there.

In the distance, more zombies surged onto the battlefield—an entire wave of reinforcements. Among them were cybernetic zombies, their bodies a grotesque fusion of flesh and machine, marching alongside standard undead.

Leading them was a Zombie King in a white lab coat, a monocle perched on one eye, his expression calm and calculating.

”Looks like we got here just in time,” he said coolly.

Behind PhD, three more figures emerged—The Japanese Iron Trio: Samara, T-Rex, and Mad Dog.

Their eyes gleamed with excitement, bloodlust practically radiating off them.

They’d arrived just in time to witness Ethan stripping off his coat—an image that hit them like a shot of adrenaline.

”Damn, that was badass!”

”No wonder we’ve been chasing this guy across continents!”

”Yeah… he’s way stronger than the last time we saw him.”

Samara’s eyes locked onto Ethan, her heart pounding. She was overwhelmed—by awe, by admiration, by the sheer thrill of being here.

”Then let’s clear the path for him. No mercy. No retreat.”

”Hell yeah! Let’s go!” Mad Dog was already charging forward, unable to hold back any longer.

As he ran, his body began to mutate—bones cracking, shifting. Jagged white bone armor erupted from his skin, encasing him like a living fortress.

With a flick of his arms, long, razor-sharp bone blades extended from his wrists.

The transformation was seamless—and terrifyingly cool.

”…” Sophia watched it all unfold, completely speechless.

And then, in that moment of silence, a realization hit her like a punch to the gut.

Every time she fought Ethan, she always saw a glimmer of hope—just enough to make her believe she could win. That if she pushed a little harder, gave a little more, she could finally bring him down.

So she kept raising the stakes. Kept betting more. Until she’d wagered everything.

And now, standing in the middle of this nightmare, she realized—

She’d already lost. She was already in the abyss.
