You call this a projection?

Of course, it was also possible that Emiya Shirou’s magecraft level was simply too limited, as he wasn’t a standard orthodox magus to begin with. After all, even now, he was still using the effects of Ripple Mastery (Hamon) to enhance his own vitality, thereby indirectly refining more magical energy.

When it came to systems like the Jujutsu-style magecraft used for placing curses on others, or Gandr magecraft which likewise utilized negative emotions and curses for attacks—both of which existed within the Nasuverse—Emiya Shirou didn’t just lack proficiency; he didn’t know a single spell.

Naturally, he couldn’t proactively adjust his magical energy—which was actually quite similar to Cursed Energy—to match the specific conditions of the Jujutsu Kaisen world to allow him to see the Cursed Spirits born from human negative emotions.

However, although Shirou could not see Cursed Spirits yet, the world of Jujutsu Kaisen offered a precedent. Much like the ”Heavenly Restricted” fighters who possess no Cursed Energy and cannot see Curses but can track them using localized senses—relying on absolute mastery of touch, smell, and hearing to catch those invisible entities—Shirou was currently surrounded by life-detecting flames.

He was effectively wearing a Cursed Energy version of infrared thermal imaging. Within the range of [Pseudo-Magician’s Red], he could precisely capture the presence of those Cursed Spirits just like a Heavenly Restricted tyrant.

”Not bad. Even in a different world, [Magician’s Red]’s ability still functions.

At least I won’t be truly blind to the Curses.”

Even through the walls of the school building, Shirou could see what was happening inside. He could even predict the Cursed Spirit hiding in the shadows, waiting to ambush the boy who had just rushed in—the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, Itadori Yuji. After testing these observations against the ongoing battle, Shirou nodded inwardly.

.

Possessing memories of his past life, Shirou was very familiar with the upcoming plot.

He understood that while Yuji and the others appeared to be in great danger, they were actually relatively safe. Not even counting Gojo Satoru, who would arrive momentarily, the fact that Itadori Yuji would ”happily” find Sukuna’s finger and encounter these Curses was, to some extent, planned by the ultimate mastermind of Jujutsu Kaisen—Kenjaku.

Perhaps right now, nearby, Kenjaku had Curses controlled via Cursed Spirit Manipulation acting as eyes to monitor Yuji’s status. It was even possible that the Cursed Spirits attacking Yuji were being puppeteered by Kenjaku.

After all, Kenjaku’s goal was to force Yuji to eat Sukuna’s finger in front of the Jujutsu High staff, making them believe Yuji was a viable vessel capable of suppressing Sukuna so they would feed him even more fingers.

Therefore, while Yuji and his friends seemed to be in peril, they were actually in the safest position possible.

Suddenly...

”Am I late?”

Just as Kenjaku wanted a logical reason for Yuji to appear before Jujutsu High, Emiya Shirou needed a logical reason to debut before these sorcerers.

With one hand, he caught and stopped the arm of Itadori Yuji, who—driven to desperation by the Curse—was just about to shove Sukuna’s finger into his mouth in hopes of gaining the power to defeat it.

With his other hand, he held the projected [Gáe Bolg] and gave the Cursed Spirit a slight prick. Using a curse to fight a curse. The curse that could reverse causality, even without its True Name being fully released, was enough to make this Cursed Spirit—which had pushed the Grade 2 Sorcerer Megumi Fushiguro into a bitter struggle—melt away instantly like butter in a hot pan.

As he presented a cool silhouette to the stunned Yuji and Megumi, Shirou’s voice continued: ”By the way, do you know Okkotsu Yuta?

I have some things I need his help with. As for this Cursed Spirit... consider it a greeting gift to my fellow associates at Jujutsu High. No need to thank me.”

’Who... is this guy!?’

Megumi Fushiguro snapped back to reality from the shock of nearly being killed and then seeing the Curse destroyed in an instant. He was clearly thinking much more deeply than Yuji, who hadn’t quite grasped the gravity of the situation and only felt that the Curse was gone and everyone was safe.

A sorcerer not affiliated with the Jujutsu High system; Someone who knew Okkotsu Yuta, a second-year student at Jujutsu High; Combined with the ”coincidence” of this person appearing here, right near Sukuna’s finger...

Knowing the jujutsu world, Megumi knew that besides sorcerers who maintained social stability like superheroes, risking their lives to exorcise Curses, there were also ”Curse Users”—the equivalent of supervillains—who had no interest in exorcism and only wanted to use their techniques for profit or crime.

Just as Megumi couldn’t help but overthink, another voice—one that didn’t belong to Shirou or anyone present—asked with a tone of pure curiosity: ”Impressive. How did you find me?

Despite how I look, I’m actually very good at hide-and-seek, you know.”

’Eh? That irresponsible voice...’

”Gojo-sensei!?” Megumi, who had been on high alert, finally let out a sigh of relief upon identifying the owner of the voice. ”Why are you here? Never mind, don’t tell me, it’s probably some weird reason anyway.

More importantly, this person...”

Because of Gojo Satoru’s appearance, Megumi even had the heart to get a quip in before urgently trying to explain the situation. However, neither Gojo Satoru nor Emiya Shirou paid any attention to him.

Having seen Gojo Satoru appear, Shirou didn’t immediately answer how he had detected him in advance. Instead, he began to speak of something else entirely.

Or rather, he began his spoilers: ”Suguru Geto’s body is currently being utilized by a certain Cursed Spirit.

As a member of the Gojo family, one of the famous Three Great Families of the Japanese jujutsu world, you should have heard of a certain scandal involving the Kamo family—also one of the Three Families—about a hundred years ago.

It wasn’t that Kamo Noritoshi went mad; it was that Kamo Noritoshi back then, just like Suguru Geto now, had his body overtaken by a Curse...

I imagine this intelligence will be of great interest to you, Gojo Satoru.”
