Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 219: Chapter 219: The Pure Land Also Wants a Piece of the Pie

Sea of Clouds, Holy Fire Cliff.

At the same moment that Duo Bao Child took out the Buddha Statue, revealing his identity as a Pure Land mole to recruit the Profound Iron Sword Master, World Purger Fei Xue also raised a delicate eyebrow.

The next second, she looked up toward the West.

”Those bald donkeys want to interfere too?”

Before her words had even faded, a Buddha Head as large as a mountain rose within the Pure Land. Its eyes seemed to be made of colored glaze, and as its lips parted, a Buddhist chant emerged:

”Not exactly.”

A grand voice echoed through the vast, empty hall. ”It is merely a junior who wishes to take advantage of this great battle to guide some fated individuals to our Pure Land to enjoy a life of bliss.”

”Hmph!”

A scarlet glint flashed through World Purger Fei Xue’s beautiful eyes, and she seemed to be losing her patience. ”Fine. I won’t interfere with this person, but you’d better not interfere either.”

”If he dies in the North, don’t you dare blame me.”

”Amitabha. That is only reasonable.”

The Buddha Head smiled faintly. The person he had sent this time was a Great Arhat at the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment. Unless a Foundation Establishment Perfection cultivator intervened, who could possibly kill him?

However, every Foundation Establishment Perfection cultivator was focused on Seeking Gold, and what they feared most was antagonizing Perfected Lords like them. Who would be idle enough to risk offending a Bodhisattva just to kill a Great Arhat at the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment? The loss would far outweigh the gain—unless they wanted to give up on Seeking Gold for the rest of their lives!

Therefore, the Buddha Head was very calm.

In his view, World Purger Fei Xue had clearly buckled under the combined pressure of the Pure Land, the Dao Court, and the Sword Pavilion, which was why she had chosen to soften her stance and take a step back.

’A wise move.’

Thinking this, the Buddha Head withdrew his gaze, a faint sense of anticipation growing in his heart. He thought of the Demon who cultivated the Ninefold Dragon Metamorphosis, which corresponded to the Fruit of Rampart Earth.

Previously, the Bhumba Bodhisattva had made a move, but it came to nothing because World Purger Fei Xue had intervened.

Now, however, was a golden opportunity. With World Purger Fei Xue occupied with protecting Chongguang, she would be unable to tend to other matters. It was the perfect time to bring that Demon to the Pure Land for Enlightenment!

...

「Dragon-Crushing Pass」

Looking at Duo Bao Child and the Profound Iron Sword Master before him, the Dharma Body, wreathed in Buddha Light, nodded in satisfaction. ”I am called Venerable Weimotuo.”

In the Pure Land, Foundation Establishment cultivators are known as Arhats.

A Great Trueman at the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment, meanwhile, is called a Great Arhat in the Pure Land. They are also known as a Venerable of the Pure Land, one who has achieved the three truths of killing the thieves, not being reborn, and being worthy of offerings.

To kill the thieves is to sever all delusions of sight and thought.

To not be reborn is to no longer be reincarnated within the three realms.

To be worthy of offerings is to deserve the great offerings of the world.

As the title implies, a figure like Venerable Weimotuo could call upon the insights of the Bhagavat at any time, meaning they would encounter almost no bottlenecks when cultivating their Abilities.

Furthermore, their Dharma Body achieves Nirvana in the Pure Land, and their Soul resides only there, never again entering the cycle of reincarnation. Unless slain by another, they never have to endure the suffering of rebirth. They also receive the veneration of the Pure Land’s countless disciples, Mages, and even Arhats, all of which prepares them for their future attainment of true fruition and ascension to the Bodhisattva Position.

Only then can one earn the title of Venerable.

Thus, upon hearing the newcomer announce himself as Venerable Weimotuo, the Profound Iron Sword Master became instantly excited, his expression growing all the more deferential.

”Venerable, I beg you, save us from this Sea of Suffering.”

”There is no rush.”

In response to the Profound Iron Sword Master’s plea, Venerable Weimotuo simply shook his head and smiled. ”The people of this world are foolish, mired in the Sea of Suffering. I wish to find a way to save them all.”

”This...”

At these words, the Profound Iron Sword Master’s brow furrowed. ’I’m surrendering to save my own skin, and now you’re telling me there’s no rush? What’s the point of surrendering, then?’

”Rest assured. Since you have chosen to forsake darkness for light and join the Pure Land, how could I possibly abandon you?” Venerable Weimotuo smiled faintly, then reached out and tapped two rays of Buddha Light toward them. ”Take this technique and study it. As long as you prepare the necessary people, it will help you defeat the Stain Sect.”

”This is...”

Hearing this, the Profound Iron Sword Master and Duo Bao Child glanced at the Divine Sense sent by Venerable Weimotuo. In an instant, a Cultivation Technique appeared in both of their Spiritual Spaces:

The Great Virtuous Ox-Headed Bright King Empowerment Method!

”This method requires a man born in a yang year, on a yang month, a yang day, and at a yang hour to act as a medium. Only a constitution of pure yang can bear this Daoist Skill.”

”As long as you can find such men and inscribe the Daoist scripture I have passed to you upon their bodies, I can cast a spell to empower them. They will be transformed into Mighty Virtuous Kings. With my Position, I can use them to unleash the combat power of Mid-stage Foundation Establishment Perfection for a short time!”

Duo Bao Child and the Profound Iron Sword Master were utterly stunned.

Mid-stage Foundation Establishment Perfection!?

That was enough power to change the tide of battle! This was a Great Trueman, after all; even when acting from a distance, he possessed such incredible Abilities!

”I’ll go make the arrangements at once!”

Duo Bao Child hurried off to send a message and find the men, while the Profound Iron Sword Master’s eyes shone brightly. ”With the Venerable taking action, we will surely crush the Demon Sect this time!”

’This will be perfect revenge for our Sect Leader and the Sword Sect!’

”That is of secondary importance.”

Venerable Weimotuo placed his palms together and said with a faint smile, ”The Pure Land has not come here for senseless slaughter, but to offer Enlightenment to those with whom we are fated.”

Duo Bao Child paused. ”Those with whom you are fated... who?”

”I find that Yuan Tu of the Demon Sect has a strong karmic link with our Pure Land. When the battle begins, I will have the empowered Mighty Virtuous Kings capture him at the first opportunity.”

”That’s perfect!”

Duo Bao Child laughed heartily, his face filled with anticipation. Although it wasn’t through his own power, if he could use Venerable Weimotuo to teach Lü Yang a harsh lesson and force him to betray the Demon Sect and join the Pure Land, he would still get some indirect revenge.

Besides, this would also allow him to prove himself.

’As Heaven is my witness, as clear as the sun and moon, I am truly not a mole for the Stain Sect!’

”Then we will be counting on you, Venerable.”

”Amitabha.”

Venerable Weimotuo nodded. He thought back to the Bodhisattva’s mission and felt that his plan was more or less foolproof.

’Participating directly in a great battle invites too much Tribulation and heavy karmic links, making it easy to be held accountable later.’

’But by using a Secret Technique to act through another’s body, and without using power at the Great Zhenren Level, there should be little risk, especially with a Bodhisattva backing me up.’

’Besides, I am rational, not greedy.’

’Once I capture Lü Yang and bring him to Enlightenment, I can turn around and help the Stain Sect. In the grand scheme of Chongguang Seeking Gold, I believe no one will pursue the matter.’

’If I had to point out a flaw...’ Venerable Weimotuo mused. ’This Great Virtuous Ox-Headed Bright King Empowerment Method does have a weakness. The requirements for the empowered individual are too high—they must be a man with a pure yang constitution. The Demon Sect once created a Daoist Skill specifically to counter this.’

’The purpose of that Daoist Skill was simple: to turn a man into a woman.’

’Once their gender changed, their pure yang constitution would be instantly shattered.’

’As a result, not only would the empowered person die instantly, but the backlash from the Daoist Skill would even affect my true self, costing me several years of Cultivation out of nowhere.’

’However, that Daoist Skill can only change a person’s gender.’

At this thought, Venerable Weimotuo quickly regained his composure.

’It’s almost useless for anything other than countering the Great Virtuous Ox-Headed Bright King Empowerment Method. I doubt any Demon would have specifically cultivated it...’
