Ning An's Wild Wish System

Chapter 89: Chapter 83: Deep Father-Son Bond, Wish Hospital’s Diagnostic Error

Ah!

Upon hearing this, the boy suddenly looked up, then shook his head like a rattle drum.

The bald man also glared fiercely at the speaker, his nostrils flaring:

”How can I not know what my son is like? Don’t impose your perverted thoughts on him!”

Ning An felt something was amiss.

Most Daoists know more or less about medicine, and Ning An was no exception.

Looking at the boy who was constantly shivering and whose face looked terribly unwell, Ning An bypassed the bald man and asked the boy directly:

”Little attendant, have you experienced any abnormal states or irregularities in your daily life recently?”

The boy struggled to lift his head, his eyes deeply sunken, his face devoid of any color, speaking hoarsely:

”I’m alright in the morning, sometimes my throat itches suddenly, I cough twice and it clears up, but I cough up phlegm, thick and sticky, and it smells bad.”

”At first it was light, then it got darker, now occasionally with blood, my dad hurriedly took me to the city for an examination. Hearing about how effective the wishes here are, he brought me here. He didn’t mean to quarrel with the uncles and aunties, I’m sorry...”

Upon hearing his words, some of the incense burners blushed slightly.

”It’s okay, no worries, your dad should’ve said something earlier, sigh.”

”Don’t worry, this place is very effective, just focus on burning the incense, it will be fine.”

Ning An focused entirely on the boy, without noticing what was happening around him.

Phlegm with blood.

And it smells bad.

Very typical symptoms of tuberculosis.

But upon looking again at the boy’s life chart, Ning An felt something wasn’t right.

”Only in the morning?”

”Yes.” The boy nodded seriously.

Tuberculosis patients don’t cough continuously, except for occasional uncontrollable coughs with phlegm and blood, they are mostly similar to ordinary people.

”At night when you sleep, is there a significant difference from normal?”

”Not much difference, but upon waking up, cough cough... my quilt is very damp, my bones feel soft and weak, I don’t want to move, it feels awful...”

”Alright, I understand. You, kid’s dad, can support him for now.”

Within a few short sentences, a young man had started panting heavily.

The bald man, anxious for his son, hesitated and directly handed over the doctor’s rough diagnosis from that morning to Ning An.

”Cough, with blood, low fever, night sweats, weakness... it somewhat fits.”

Looking at the doctor’s paper diagnosis, the live-stream audience’s hearts skipped a beat.

”Ha ha, I knew Brother Sect Leader was hiding something. He even knows striking medical skills, laughing till tears.”

”We are so open-hearted with Brother Sect Leader, and he laughs at us for being mentally deficient, sob sob sob.”

”Handsome, highly educated, bold and meticulous, stable salary, even medical skills, isn’t this definitely the novel’s male lead!”

Ning An glanced briefly, the doctor’s preliminary diagnosis was similar to his own hypothesis.

Fungal infection.

Possibly tuberculosis.

Yet, Ning An still felt something wasn’t right.

Ning An looked at the bald man, pondered over it, ”Let me ask one more thing, has he gone out to play in recent days, not including school-organized activities?”

The bald man thought seriously, shook his head, ”He’s in the third year of high school now, the school doesn’t give him any break, not even physical education classes.”

”He finishes school late, washes up and basically goes to sleep, spends weekends at home without going out, there’s no other time.”

Boarding school!

Ning An sensitively grasped a key point.

Being in adolescence, kids of the same age together, when temptation comes, without correct parental guidance, it’s easy to make mistakes.

”Oh, right,” the bald man slapped his head, suddenly realizing: ”My son is afraid of blood!”

”Afraid of blood?”

Looking at Ning An’s puzzled gaze, the bald man explained: ”Not the type of blood in the phlegm, but needles, he was particularly resistant to blood draws today.”

”During the blood draw today, he almost fainted, had to go to the restroom to vomit for a while, Daoist Master, do you think this is related?”

”Dad...” The boy, who had been silent, immediately yelped, then quickly lowered his head again.

The bald man patted his head directly, exasperated, ”Reading books, yet don’t understand the principle of avoiding illness and refusing treatment!”

After a while, the boy timidly said: ”He’s just a Daoist, not a doctor...”

Seeing the bald man was about to pat him again, Ning An quickly said:

”Your child is still young, my advice is, if possible, go to the province for two more checks, since conditions are better there.”

”I understand some medical skills too, just by visually checking, his symptoms seem quite severe now, if both lungs are infected, it’s very likely to cause shock.”

”Shock?”

The bald man was visibly panicking.

”Yes, medically, experience shows this, like chest tightness, shortness of breath, prolonged duration, the likelihood of shock is very high.”

”Daoist Master, I occasionally have difficulty breathing, not for long, other symptoms are not obvious.”

The boy stubbornly replied, but after glancing at Ning An’s calm eyes, quickly shifted his gaze to the side.

”If you’ve paid for the child’s medical insurance, it won’t cost much to go to a provincial hospital, health is paramount, studies can be set aside for now...”

”Mm, I’ll listen to the Daoist Master.”

The bald man may appear fierce but was very concerned about his son.

Essentially, Ning An said a word, he carefully noted it down, showing no sign of fierceness.

The live-stream audience also clicked their tongues.

If Ning An’s Daoist robe was replaced by a white coat, he could be mistaken for a doctor by others.

When the bald man began to make his wish, the system didn’t immediately reveal, waiting for a few breaths before providing a notification sound.

[Ding! Detected contact between this singularity and another singularity, fusion is now beginning!]

Hmm...

Upon hearing the system notification, Ning An’s eyes paused slightly.

He understood the system could integrate several related wishes, and once one wish is fulfilled.

However, he hadn’t anticipated today’s father-son wish could also merge with other wishes.

With the next breath.

Above the bald man’s head, two panels appeared.

The deeper one was clearly his wish.

[Gender: Male]

[Occupation: Miner]

[Name: Li Kaiping]

[Wish: Hope the hospital results this afternoon are a misjudgment, not tuberculosis, nor fungal infection, best if the doctor’s guesses don’t come true!]

[Wild wish fulfillment method: Due to the unusual behavior during the morning checkup at the hospital, the imaging room doctor closely monitored, prioritized blood testing, and in ten minutes obtained results, showing neither tuberculosis nor fungal infection, but HIV positive!]

Before Ning An could be utterly shocked, the other lighter panel began to slide, showing his son’s wish.

[Gender: Male]

[Occupation: Student]

[Name: Li Lang]

[Wish: Hope to meet the beautiful older sister from the street again, even if just for a moment.]

[Wild wish fulfillment method: Li Kaiping, in a fit of rage, directly chose to call the police, based on transaction records, the police traced back easily to the source, and the two meet again, but...]
