A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1043: Chapter 1043: Afraid There Won’t Be Another Chance

After Mu Chen woke up, Mu Yan went to find the attending doctor.

”Miss Mu, I’ve mentioned your brother’s condition before, and reminded you that he’s very likely to experience cardiac arrest. Luckily, he was saved this time, but his condition is not optimistic. I can’t guarantee for the next time, or the time after that.”

Mu Yan bit her lip and said with difficulty, ”Still haven’t found a suitable heart?”

”As you know, your brother’s blood type is rare, the kind found in one in two thousand people, the so-called ’panda blood.’ Finding a suitable heart is extremely difficult.”

Mu Yan looked desolate and whispered, ”I understand.”

She closed her eyes and suddenly asked, ”Approximately how much time does my brother have left?”

”At most a year, at least six months, or even less.”

Mu Yan looked helplessly at the doctor, ”Less than a year? How can it be so fast?”

”Your brother’s heart is already experiencing severe blood supply issues; medication is proving increasingly ineffective. If this continues, his heart will eventually be overwhelmed,” the doctor explained.

Mu Yan pursed her lips in silence, knowing the truth is always hard to hear.

”Miss Mu, no matter what, the hospital will actively contact associations worldwide to try to find a suitable heart for your brother.”

”Thank you.”

Leaving the office, Mu Yan felt as if all her strength had been drained away.

She had repeatedly told Luo Yao not to give up, but now she really had no idea what to do; people are so fragile and insignificant in the face of illness.

She was at a loss; this time, she truly had no answers.

Because the fans waiting at the airport yesterday evening had missed her arrival, some haters stirred trouble, saying Mu Yan was too famous to care, leaving fans waiting all night.

Song Cheng’an handled it quietly on his own, not even mentioning it to Mu Yan.

However, at this moment, Mu Yan was not in the mood to deal with such matters. After all, starting now, each passing day meant less time to be with him.

She even deeply regretted that over the past year, she shouldn’t have worked so much; she should have spent more time by his side.

That night, Jiang Jingheng returned from abroad and headed straight to the hospital.

He saw Mu Yan sitting on a hospital bench, huddled, looking exhausted and disappointed.

He walked over and asked, ”How is Mu Chen?”

Seeing him, Mu Yan’s long-held tears suddenly fell, her voice filled with grievance and uncertainty, ”Not good.”

Jiang Jingheng came over, hugged her, and softly said, ”Don’t worry, it will get better.”

”Okay.” Mu Yan responded, trusting his words because he’s capable of anything.

And with him by her side, she wouldn’t feel so alone.

Jiang Jingheng stayed with Mu Yan for a while before going into the ward to see Mu Chen, who was asleep, so they couldn’t talk.

After he came out, Lian Jun invited the attending physician over, and he inquired about the specifics.

After the doctor left, Mu Yan couldn’t help but ask him, ”Is it really just leaving it to fate?”

Seeing her eyes well up with tears again, Jiang Jingheng lifted his hand to gently caress her eyelid, ”There’s still time; it will be found.”

”Okay.” Mu Yan nodded.

”Did you not rest last night?” Jiang Jingheng noticed the bloodshot in her eyes, slightly furrowing his brow.

”I couldn’t sleep.” Mu Yan lowered her eyelids; with Mu Chen not having woken up, how could she fall asleep?

”Go home and sleep now.”

”I want to stay at the hospital with Mu Chen,” Mu Yan said quietly.

Jiang Jingheng gently said, ”He’s getting better now. Staying at the hospital won’t do any good. Go home and have a proper rest; come back tomorrow.”

”No, I don’t want to leave him.” Mu Yan decisively refused, looking at him, her eyes shimmering with tears, ”I just want to be able to see him when I wake up, and for him to see me.”

She feared not seeing him now might mean never having the chance in the future.
