A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1038: Chapter 1038: I’m Protecting You!

At the end of December, it was already very cold in the north, and the weather wasn’t great tonight either. The air felt damp and chilly. The forecast said there’d be rain and snow, but it hadn’t started yet.

The shops along the street were adorned with colorful lights, with Christmas trees and Santas set up outside, creating a strong festive atmosphere.

Even though it was already past eleven, there were still quite a few people on the street. Couples were out together, and the flower vendors by the roadside hadn’t closed up shop.

The price of roses, usually just a few bucks each, had multiplied several times, but business was still booming.

The flower shop run by Mu Yan had also received many orders these days, with sales almost matching those of the past two months.

Mu Yan pointed at an ice cream shop nearby and said to Jiang Jingheng, ”I want to eat ice cream.”

Jiang Jingheng glanced at her but didn’t respond. He looked at the roses handed over by a nearby vendor and asked, ”Do you want one?”

Mu Yan glared at him, ”I said I want to eat ice cream. Didn’t you hear?”

”I heard.”

”It’s too cold, can’t eat it.”

”I knew you’d disagree,” Mu Yan said, slightly annoyed.

Jiang Jingheng retorted, ”You knew I wouldn’t agree, and you still asked?”

Mu Yan didn’t want to talk to him and tried to pull her hand away, but the certain someone held her hand tightly.

She complained, ”Can’t even eat ice cream during the holidays. No one is more miserable than me.”

Jiang Jingheng saw her mouth could practically hang a kettle, knowing that if he didn’t satisfy her, she wouldn’t be at peace tonight.

He raised a hand to pinch her cheek, ”Alright, I’ll buy it.”

Mu Yan’s face lit up instantly with joy, ”Let’s go.”

But when she got the ice cream, Mu Yan was dumbfounded. What kind of thing was this?

The ice cream was bought, but there was just a little bit in the cone, as someone had specifically instructed the clerk to scoop less.

Mu Yan looked at him unhappily, ”Ten bucks for this little bit? Are you stupid.”

”Miss, your boyfriend is doing it for your own good.” The clerk said with a smile, ”It’s indeed a bit cold today. Be careful not to upset your stomach by eating too much.”

Since you’re being so considerate, why are you even open today, Mu Yan thought inwardly.

But she also knew Jiang Jingheng meant well. She pulled down her mask and took a bite of ice cream—no, the cone. The ice cream was at the bottom; she suspected that by the time she reached it, it’d have melted.

The clerk looked at this couple with some envy. The guy was good-looking, and he was so considerate to his girlfriend. This girl must have saved the Milky Way in her past life.

Suddenly, she noticed Mu Yan pulling down her mask and exclaimed, ”Mu Yan, are you Mu Yan?”

Mu Yan was startled and instinctively turned her head.

Now the clerk was convinced it was her and immediately said, ”It really is you, Mu Yan. I like you so much. I even watched your live stream tonight.”

Saying this, she turned to look at the tall, handsome, and dignified man beside her, covering her mouth in surprise, ”Could this be your boyfriend?”

Her cover was blown unexpectedly, and Mu Yan was caught off guard. She quickly said, ”I’m not Mu Yan. You got the wrong person.”

With that, she grabbed Jiang Jingheng and ran forward.

They ran all the way until Mu Yan couldn’t run anymore and finally stopped.

She turned around to look behind, relieved to see no one was there.

Jiang Jingheng looked at her and laughed, ”No one was chasing you. Why did you run?”

Mu Yan thought for a moment; yeah, why was she running? It felt like she was a thief.

She said righteously, ”I’m protecting you. Who knows if she’s your fan.”

Jiang Jingheng followed along with, ”Thank you, Mrs. Jiang.”

Mu Yan felt slightly guilty and didn’t dare to look at him. Suddenly, she sensed something fell on her face. Touching it with her hand, she exclaimed with joy, ”It seems it’s snowing.”
