A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 692: Chapter 692: I Will Not Forgive a Murderer!

Long Xiao knew that Mu Yan didn’t want to see him, but he knew he had to meet her.

He seemed oblivious to Mu Yan’s disdain for him and asked, ”Yanyan, have you been well these past years?”

”Whether I’m well or not, what does it have to do with you?” Mu Yan sneered.

She glanced at his graying hair and said sarcastically, ”Looking at you, it seems you didn’t have a good time in prison. I didn’t expect you to be released so soon.”

Long Xiao didn’t dare to look into her eyes and said in a low voice, ”I behaved well in prison, so I got out six months early.”

”So you’re here to gloat? Is my mom’s life only worth a few years of your imprisonment?”

A strong sense of hatred arose in Mu Yan’s heart. If it weren’t for this man, there wouldn’t have been that fire.

”Yanyan, that’s not what I meant.” Long Xiao hurriedly said, ”I know the events of that year were all my fault. No amount of apologies can bring your mom back. I don’t expect you to forgive me; I just wanted to see if you were doing well. I owe you, and I owe your mom.”

As he spoke, tears uncontrollably streamed down his face.

Once a man of great influence, after spending long years in prison, there was no ambition left in him, only profound guilt towards that mother and daughter.

Back then, he fell for a woman, and so he painstakingly pursued her and tried to win her daughter’s favor. Even if the woman wasn’t fond of him, he didn’t get angry; instead, he enjoyed it.

Yet, he was rejected by her once again that time, got drunk, misspoke, and those under him misunderstood his meaning, leading to a mistake he could never rectify in his lifetime.

”Then you’re right, I will never forgive a murderer, and don’t ever appear before me again,” Mu Yan coldly stated, turning around to walk inside, tears bursting from her eyes.

She knew this man liked her mom, and he was very kind, gentle, and considerate to her mom.

Once upon a time, she hoped her mom would be with this man because her mom desperately needed a man’s care.

But it was this very man who pushed her mom into the abyss of death.

If she was the initial offender, then he was the main culprit; essentially, there was no difference.

Long Xiao watched her back, opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing.

Since she didn’t want to see him, he naturally wouldn’t appear again, only hoping for her safety and well-being.

Having just seen Long Xiao, Mu Yan was in a terrible mood and didn’t feel like arranging flowers anymore.

She sat on a chair, her mind filled with scenes from the past. Why did happiness always slip away quietly when it was so close to them?

In the evening, at the Jiang Family, Zhuang Chujiao had been in her room all afternoon, and upon hearing the sound of a car, she knew the Jiang Family had returned from work and immediately went downstairs.

However, to her disappointment, Jiang Jingheng hadn’t come home; it was Jiang Zhenghong, Yin Manqing, and others who had returned.

Seeing the two people, she cheerfully called out, ”Uncle, Aunt, hello, long time no see. You both look great.”

Jiang Zhenghong nodded to her, ”Jiaojiao, you’ve come.”

Yin Manqing smiled at Zhuang Chujiao and said, ”Miss Zhuang, hello, when did you arrive?”

Zhuang Chujiao became even more gentle and demure, ”I arrived this morning, sorry for disturbing you, Uncle and Aunt.”

”No need to be so polite, we might not have been attentive enough, I hope you don’t mind,” Yin Manqing nodded and went straight upstairs.

Zhuang Chujiao frowned slightly as she watched her back. She really wanted to please Brother Jingheng’s mom, but she seemed to always be indifferent towards her.

Speaking of this Aunt’s cold nature, she was different towards Zhao Xiyue.

But luckily, Brother Jingheng’s engagement to Zhao Xiyue had been called off.
