A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 685: Chapter 685: Unusual

Yu Ma brought out the porridge, and just as Jiang Jingheng was about to reach for a spoon, someone beat him to it.

Mu Yan took the bowl, filled it, and placed it in front of Jiang Jingheng, ”You’ve lost weight, eat more.”

”Okay.” Jiang Jingheng nodded.

He was about to help her serve when she had already picked up another bowl to serve herself porridge.

Jiang Jingheng picked up chopsticks and gave her a crystal bun and then a poached egg.

”You should eat more too,” Mu Yan said warmly, adding a sausage to his bowl.

”Mm.”

Jiang Jingheng picked up the sausage, and before he ate it, a few slices of beef were added to his bowl.

He looked at her and said, ”Eat on your own, don’t mind me.”

”Okay.”

Even so, the food in his bowl never seemed to decrease.

Accidentally, when he looked up, he met her smiling eyes. She was looking at him, but he felt she was looking at someone else through him.

Soon after breakfast, Lin Jiamu arrived.

Seeing Mu Yan was awake, he was overjoyed.

Mu Yan was calm, ”Jia Mu, thank you for your hard work these past days.”

”Why are you being so polite?” Lin Jiamu said warmly, looking at her, ”No matter what happens, remember, you still have us, your friends.”

”Mm.” Mu Yan nodded.

After sitting for a while, Lin Jiamu left; he had an event in the afternoon.

Mu Yan looked at Jiang Jingheng, who was still sitting in the living room, and asked, ”Aren’t you going to work?”

”Not going today,” Jiang Jingheng replied.

Mu Yan knew he was worried about her and said, ”I’m fine now, go to work. You haven’t been to work for several days, it’s not good.”

”There’s nothing important at the company today.” Jiang Jingheng insisted on staying home.

She had just woken up; how could he dare leave her home alone?

Mu Yan couldn’t persuade him, so she didn’t bother further and went back to her room to pack her things.

Since when had their clothes, shoes, and hats gotten all mixed up together?

She took out their clothes, sorted them one by one, and placed them back properly.

Jiang Jingheng sat nearby, watching her tidy up, occasionally lending a hand.

Neither of them spoke, yet their coordination was seamless, just a look and they knew what the other wanted.

Today, she seemed different from yesterday, and for a moment, he thought she had forgotten the painful past.

But he knew she hadn’t.

Some pains can only be healed with time.

She didn’t speak of it, so he didn’t ask, but he stayed by her side.

In the afternoon, Xu Yachong came over.

He was a bit surprised to see Mu Yan greeting him so calmly.

Her recovery was indeed astonishing.

He casually suggested, ”The weather’s been nice these days. Would you like to go out for a walk, sister-in-law? It might be good for your health.”

”I’m fine,” Mu Yan said calmly.

”Do you mind if I conduct some check-ups?” Xu Yachong asked.

”I’m all better, no need for a check-up, but thank you for your concern, Brother Xu.”

Xu Yachong looked at her serene face and nodded, ”I also think you’re in good shape, so I’ll be at ease going back to the United States in a few days. I’m here today to bid farewell.”

Mu Yan smiled slightly, ”Safe travels, Brother Xu.”

Xu Yachong stayed for a while before leaving, and Jiang Jingheng saw him to the door.

In the car, Xu Yachong gave Jiang Jingheng a serious look, ”She’s not well yet. From the moment I arrived, she was on guard against me. Until I said I was returning to the United States, her spikes retracted.”

Jiang Jingheng remained calm, seemingly unsurprised by this revelation.

”I know.”

As her partner, as a man who had secretly loved her for six years, every little change in her never escaped his eyes.
