A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 581: Chapter 581: Who Allowed You to Answer My Call!

Mu Yan looked at her phone, it wasn’t even seven o’clock.

She woke up a bit early today and thought of calling him, but felt it was too early, so she gave up in the end.

She got out of bed, washed up, changed clothes, and went downstairs.

She said she woke up early, but Mu Chen and Luo Yao woke up even earlier, strolling on the grass outside the villa.

Luo Yao was stretching her muscles and laughing with Mu Chen beside her as they walked.

Mu Chen looked aloof, but he replied to her words.

Mu Yan smiled, these two... so clingy early in the morning, really!

”Young Madam, breakfast is almost ready,” Yu Ma reminded from behind.

Mu Yan turned her head, nodded to her, and then went to call Mu Chen and Luo Yao in.

Mu Chen looked at the empty spot beside Mu Yan and asked, ”Brother-in-law didn’t come back all night yesterday?”

”Mm.” Mu Yan nodded.

Mu Chen gave her a look and asked, ”Does he do this often?”

”Not at all.” Mu Yan shook her head, ”Yesterday was the first time, he must have been held up by something, I’ll call him later to ask.”

”Really?” Mu Chen said flatly, lowering his head to continue drinking his porridge.

After breakfast, Luo Yao took Mu Chen back to the hospital,

Mu Yan wanted to see them off, but Mu Chen wouldn’t let her.

Before leaving, Mu Chen said seriously, ”Sis, find out where he was and what he was doing last night.”

Mu Yan found it amusing, did he think her brother-in-law was cheating, doing something bad?

But he was just looking out for her, if she didn’t agree, he might personally call to ask, which would be awkward.

She laughed, ”Alright, I got it, I’ll be at home reading scripts today, I’ll come keep you company tomorrow.”

”Alright, don’t tire yourself out too much either.”

”Okay.”

After watching Mu Chen’s car leave, Mu Yan turned and went back upstairs.

She picked up her phone and dialed Jiang Jingheng’s number, it was almost eight, he should be up by now.

Soon, the call was answered.

Before Mu Yan could speak, a clear female voice came through, ”Sorry, he just went to the bathroom, couldn’t answer the phone, if it’s urgent you can tell me first.”

With a ”boom,” Mu Yan felt as if something exploded in her mind.

Her hand holding the phone trembled, her face turned as pale as paper.

The hand holding the phone gradually slipped down, she stared blankly ahead.

Her mind was a blank, she was somewhat at a loss, what should she do now?

The person on the other end, seeing no response, directly hung up the phone.

Mu Yan suddenly felt a chill all over, snapping back to reality.

Looking at the phone, a trace of panic flashed in her eyes, it shouldn’t be what she thought... right...

However, she didn’t dare call again.

Jiang Jingheng came out of the bathroom, returned to the ward, and heard someone say, ”Your phone rang just now, I answered it for you, but strangely, not a word was said from the other side, so I hung up.”

Jiang Jingheng snatched the phone from her, giving her a cold look, ”Who allowed you to answer my call?”

The woman appeared to be twenty-seven or twenty-eight, strikingly beautiful, with fair skin, wearing an elegant and graceful white dress.

She shrugged, ”I was just afraid your phone ringing too loudly might disturb your brother, alright, let’s say I was wrong. But, your note is peculiar too, Little Sunflower, isn’t that a drug name?”

Jiang Jingheng ignored her, took the phone, and left.

Last night, he was afraid of disturbing her rest, so he didn’t call her.

This morning, he wanted to call but was afraid she wasn’t awake, didn’t expect she called first.

He looked at the call duration, two minutes ago, and immediately pressed redial.
