A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 554: Chapter 554: He is not someone who wrongs himself!

Standing at the window, Mu Yan looked at Upper City under the night sky, lights swirling, lighting up half the sky above.

Yet this prosperity couldn’t penetrate her heart.

Lan Xi stood beside her, not daring to leave for a moment.

She tentatively asked, ”Did you have a fight with Brother Jiang?”

Mu Yan’s lips twitched slightly, if he had really argued with her, maybe it would have been better.

He was too good to her, so good that she even questioned herself, wondering what she had done to deserve his affection.

Lan Xi asked again, ”Did Brother Jiang do something to upset you?”

Mu Yan said nothing.

Lan Xi could only continue to speculate, ”You wouldn’t have run into the same issue as I did, would you?”

The last time at the hotel, she noticed that Mu Yan seemed particularly bothered by the fact that Brother Jiang had once liked someone else.

She thought she was being too petty, after all, who doesn’t have a past?

As a child, she too had liked someone else, but of course, it was quickly nipped in the bud; now she only liked Lu Hao.

Mu Yan closed her eyes slightly, still saying nothing.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Lan Xi thought she had guessed right and continued, ”I see that Brother Jiang treats you very well, don’t overthink it. It’s not worth it to be angry with him over such things. To tell you the truth, when Brother Jiang stands there, many women throw themselves at him, you can’t let others have it so easily.”

She said these things because she considered Mu Yan a close friend.

Yet she didn’t realize these words were like knives stabbing into Mu Yan’s heart.

He was so outstanding, she wasn’t even worthy of someone like him.

”What kind of girl did your Brother Jiang like in the past, can you tell me?” Mu Yan asked.

She felt baffled, wanting to find a sense of existence from his ex.

However, she couldn’t restrain herself.

Lan Xi pondered for a moment and said, ”I’m not really sure, I haven’t met that girl, but...”

”But what?” Mu Yan pressed on.

”That girl was quite good at painting, and it’s said she painted sunflowers very beautifully. My Brother Jiang has particularly liked sunflowers over the years,” Lan Xi replied.

Mu Yan felt as if she were struck by lightning, she turned to look at Lan Xi and asked, ”What did you say?”

”Hmm?” Lan Xi looked at her puzzled.

”You just mentioned sunflowers?” Mu Yan pursued, ”That girl is a painter and can paint sunflowers? Is that right?”

”Yeah.” Lan Xi mumbled, seeing her pale complexion, and asked, ”Is there any problem?”

Mu Yan shook her head, ”No problem.”

Even if there was a problem, it was her problem.

She wondered why he chose her in the first place. Perhaps when he was investigating her, he found out that she could paint too, especially skilled at painting sunflowers.

So, he ultimately chose her.

Then, in this relationship, is she a substitute? Or has she already replaced that person in his heart?

At that moment, Mu Yan felt like a tangled mess inside, her headache worsening.

She held her head, squatted on the ground, forcing herself not to think about it.

”Mu Yan, what’s wrong?” Lan Xi said anxiously.

Hearing footsteps approaching, Lan Xi looked up and immediately said, ”Brother Jiang.”

Jiang Jingheng ran over, picked Mu Yan up, and asked, ”Feeling very uncomfortable?”

Seeing it was him, Mu Yan immediately held him tightly, unwilling to let go.

Jiang Jingheng patted her back, saying, ”Let’s go, we’re going home.”

”Hmm!” Mu Yan mumbled in response, burying her head in his chest.

Jiang Jingheng glanced at Lan Xi and said, ”Tell them we’re leaving first.”

”Okay!” Lan Xi replied, watching Jiang Jingheng carry Mu Yan out.

She pondered in her heart, even if the former love appeared, given Brother Jiang’s love for Mu Yan, he wouldn’t change his heart, right?

After all, he’s not one to wrong himself.
