A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 521: Chapter 521: Confrontation Between Two Sides!

The power of netizens is infinite. By the afternoon, someone had already revealed that the woman in the video was not Mu Yan’s mother but her aunt.

As for the brother she mentioned, he could not possibly be her biological brother but a cousin.

So those keyboard warriors accusing Mu Yan of abandoning her parents after gaining fame really had a tough time.

Yet, some people remained unconvinced, still believing Mu Yan was in the wrong.

River’s Edge: The current entertainment industry has such low moral standards for celebrities; anyone can become famous.

Even if that aunt isn’t Mu Yan’s mother, she’s still her aunt, her elder.

As a junior, isn’t it only right to care for an elder after becoming successful?

But look at her, not only refusing her elder but snapping at her, who gave her the audacity? Has the traditional virtue of respecting the elderly and cherishing the young in the Chinese nation been fed to the dogs?!

As soon as this tweet was sent, a crowd followed the trend, turning their criticism back to Mu Yan, as if they finally had moral leverage to counterattack.

”That’s right, an aunt is an elder, but look at her just leaving in a huff. Does she even regard her elders?”

”How many current artists actually have morals? Do they think they can touch the sky once they become famous, ha!”

”I always thought Mu Yan was very pretentious, and as expected, an actor is just an actor, one facade in front of people and another behind backs, and she’s quite good at it.”

...

Mu Yan’s fans were almost driven insane by these brainless comments from keyboard warriors.

Without understanding the truth of the matter, they’re just spouting nonsense.

”If your aunt tells you to eat shit, will you eat it?”

”Who says all elders are good people? Some elders are shameless, and that Mu Yan’s aunt clearly isn’t a good person.”

”Apart from parents, it’s not anyone’s duty to help someone else; what about an aunt? She’s still an outsider!”

”Helping is kindness, not helping is right, moral blackmail is unacceptable!”

...

Online, Mu Yan’s fans and haters were locked in a fierce battle, even Qin Xi and Lin Jiamu’s fans joined in to help.

The whole day, terms like ”Mu Yan abandoning parents,” ”Mother is the aunt,” ”Mu Yan disrespecting elders” kept trending.

Mu Yan’s side did not respond further, while most netizens supported Mu Yan.

But journalists would never give up on such big news, and it wasn’t long before a video interview with Zheng Shufen was released.

In a humble single-room rental, the walls were covered in black mold. The furniture was simple: a bed, a table, two chairs, and then miscellaneous pots and pans, along with a few sacks of clothes and boxes crowded the small room. On the bed lay a pallid, sickly-looking man with his leg in a cast.

Zheng Shufen sat on a low stool, talking and wiping her tears.

”My son’s leg was broken by someone, it’s a comminuted fracture, he can’t even stand. We need money to treat his leg.”

”My husband and I are almost sixty, we don’t have much pension, we can barely afford the rent each month.”

”Our previous house was taken back, we’re homeless and barely scraping by here.”

”Yanyan, I know your aunt didn’t do well before, but consider that we’re family, please help us, in the next life we’ll serve you as oxen and horses.”

As she spoke, she knelt directly on the ground from the low stool.

She looked at the camera, nose and tears streaming, saying: ”Yanyan, I’m begging you, all faults are your aunt’s, if you want to blame someone, blame me instead...”

This video exploded online immediately, causing an uproar, and those who initially supported Mu Yan quickly turned against her.

Seeing how miserable this aunt’s family situation was, Mu Yan can still be indifferent, how can she be so heartless?
