A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 458: Chapter 458: I Can’t Tolerate Mistresses!

The reporters felt they had been fooled by Mu Yan and wanted to say something, but the event was ending.

The lead shifted back to Director Meng and Mu Yan to push for the movie’s box office.

Upon the event’s conclusion, Meng Xing called out to Mu Yan.

Director Meng adjusted his glasses and sincerely said, ”Thank you.”

Mu Yan smiled, ”Director, you’ve already said that.”

”Not for the movie, but for those children.”

Mu Yan understood his meaning and smiled slightly, ”I’m just doing what little I can, nothing compared to you, Director Meng.”

Director Meng shook his head, ”We are not the same.”

Mu Yan chuckled, ”What’s different? Don’t we both have two eyes and a nose? I get your point, Director Meng.”

Hearing her say this, Director Meng didn’t insist further.

After changing her clothes, Mu Yan prepared to leave with Luo Yao.

Just as she exited backstage, two men in black suits blocked her way.

Luo Yao immediately stood in front of her, vigilantly eyeing them, ”What do you want?”

”Miss Mu, our miss invites you for a visit.”

Mu Yan frowned, ”Your miss?”

”Zhao Xiyue!”

Mu Yan pursed her lips, nodded, ”Alright.”

Luo Yao looked at her, slightly frowning, ”Mu Yan, you...”

Mu Yan shook her head at her, ”Don’t worry, it’s fine.”

Knowing persuasion would be useless, Luo Yao didn’t insist.

However, shortly after Mu Yan left, she made a phone call.

At Shengyuan Group, in the president’s office, Jiang Jingheng hung up the phone, got up, grabbed his car keys, and left.

Lian Jun entered just as he was leaving and asked, ”Young Master, should I arrange a car?”

”No need.”

Lian Jun watched his back, somewhat surprised. Did something happen with the Young Madam again?

Otherwise, what else could make him so impatient?

The rooftop café of the mall had been reserved, with no other customers.

When Mu Yan walked in, she saw Zhao Xiyue sitting by the floor-to-ceiling window.

The bandage on her head was still there, and she was wearing a coffee-colored trench coat, staring out the window with a melancholic air.

Mu Yan’s heart tightened as she walked forward.

She went over to her and asked, ”You wanted to see me?”

Zhao Xiyue turned her head to look at Mu Yan, curling her lips, ”Sit.”

Mu Yan glanced at her, sat down, took the coffee from the waiter, and thanked him.

Her gaze fell on Zhao Xiyue’s head, ”Is your injury getting better?”

”Don’t worry, I won’t die,” Zhao Xiyue curled her lips.

Mu Yan frowned slightly, said nothing, tasted the coffee—it was bitter.

She put down the cup, looked at the person across from her, and asked, ”Why did you want to see me?”

Zhao Xiyue looked at her and said in a low voice, ”I want to know what it will take for you to back off!”

Mu Yan was a bit surprised, ”What?”

”Don’t play dumb with me!” Zhao Xiyue’s voice rose, ”I don’t care about your feelings for him, but the one he’s going to marry is me. We’ll announce our engagement soon, and I hope you can keep your distance.”

Mu Yan frowned, ”Why do you think he will marry you?”

”If he’s not marrying me, is he going to marry you?” Zhao Xiyue said sarcastically, ”With your status, do you think you can enter the Jiang Family’s door? Help him? If you have any self-awareness, you shouldn’t cling to him.”

Thinking about Jiang Jingheng ignoring her for Mu Yan and suppressing the engagement announcement made her furious.

She came today hoping Mu Yan would retreat in face of difficulty.

Mu Yan glanced at Zhao Xiyue, are they casting her as the villainous woman?

She said in a calm voice, ”What if I insist on being with him?”

Zhao Xiyue’s face turned cold, ”I have never been a tolerant person, can’t stand third parties, don’t push me to deal with you!”

Seeing her righteous demeanor, Mu Yan’s heart turned cold.

The little bit of goodwill left seemed to extinguish amid the tearing.

It seems we really must lay it all out!

Her gaze sharpened, and she said in a low voice, ”The first half of that sentence should have been me telling you!”
