A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 176: Chapter 176 Doubts

Not long after arriving at the hospital, Mu Yan received a call from Song Cheng’an.

”I have some good news for you, we’ve secured the IOC endorsement deal.”

Mu Yan was momentarily stunned, handed the peeled apple to Mu Chen, and took a napkin to wipe her hands.

”Good.”

”I’ll pick you up the day after tomorrow to sign the contract.”

”Alright!” Mu Yan replied.

”By the way, I’ve had the incident of Zhou Lifen’s fans throwing concentrated sulfuric acid on you exposed.”

Mu Yan’s expression was slightly startled, then she asked, ”So, I’m on the hot searches again?”

”Of course!”

”Alright.” Mu Yan hung up the phone, logged into Weibo, and clicked into the trending page.

Exclusive Star Secret: Publicly, Zhou Lifen suppresses Mu Yan, secretly, her fans conspire against Mu Yan. Truly, like idol, like fans. [Video]

Mu Yan clicked on the video. The image was somewhat dark; it was the incident from that night when Zhou Lifen’s fans threw concentrated sulfuric acid at her. Jiang Jingheng’s back was facing the camera the entire time, and his face was blurred.

She opened the comments below.

Stargazer: These fans are brain-dead. How much did Zhou Lifen pay you to make you do this for her?

Shoes Got Wet: The entertainment industry is really terrifying. Poor Mu Yan, I wonder if she’s hurt.

Kid From The Countryside: I highly suspect Zhou Lifen of inciting her fans.

...

After reading, Mu Yan logged into her Weibo. Her follower count had exceeded two million.

Many people sent private messages asking if she was hurt.

She thought for a moment and posted a Weibo.

Mu Yan V: Thank you all for your concern, I’m fine, not injured. Of course, this is all thanks to the friend who saved me.

Just after she posted, Lin Jiamu’s call came through.

Her eyelid twitched; it seemed he had seen the online news.

She answered the call, ”Hey, aren’t you busy today? How come you have time to call me?”

”I’m coming back to Upper City today.”

”Really? Looks like the filming went well.”

”I saw online that Zhou Lifen’s fans threw concentrated sulfuric acid at you, is that true?”

”Yes.” Mu Yan glanced at Mu Chen, who was staring at her from the bed, and walked outside.

Mu Chen stopped biting into the apple, pouted, recently his sister had been making more and more phone calls behind his back.

Is there something he can’t hear?

In the hallway, Mu Yan softly said, ”It’s true, but I’m fine, my friend saved me at that time.”

”Your friend is really loyal; if it weren’t for him, who knows what could have happened. You’ve seen how chaotic the entertainment industry is, make sure to be extra careful in the future.”

”Okay, I know.”

”Hmm, do you have time in the next few days? Let’s get together.”

”Sure.” Mu Yan agreed without hesitation, Lin Jiamu had helped her so much last time, she definitely had to treat him to a meal.

She hung up the phone, returned to the room, and heard Mu Chen ask, ”Sis, who were you just on the phone with?”

”Lin Jiamu.” Mu Yan said casually.

”I don’t believe you.” Mu Chen looked at her; would she be this mysterious if it were Brother Jia Mu?

Mu Yan chuckled, ”Do I need to show you the call log?”

”Sure!”

Mu Yan, ”...”

Since when did Mu Chen start not believing her words?

Helpless, she opened the call log and showed the phone interface to him.

”Don’t believe me? See for yourself.”

Mu Chen indeed looked at it earnestly, it was indeed Lin Jiamu, his sister hadn’t lied.

His gaze instinctively glanced down; the next was ”Brother Song,” with thirty calls this month, he knew he was his sister’s agent.

The next one was a string of numbers, with twenty call records.

He felt like he had seen this number before, the most important thing was, who is this person, that his sister contacts so frequently.

Suddenly, Mu Yan retracted the phone and looked at Mu Chen, ”Now do you believe me?”

”Yeah, yeah.” Mu Chen nodded without asking more, but harbored doubts in his heart.
