Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse [BL]

Thinking back, Zou Wei could still remember that day. He held his wife’s hand with his trembling ones and whispered their vows.

She was barely holding back her happy tears…

”That day, nothing can replace the happiness I felt that day,” the file in his lap had many other photos of their wedding. He had prepared all these hoping one day he can tell the truth to his children.

What he did not expect was Wen’s child found out before them…

’Well, it’s practice for my storytelling technique…’

He picked out one and gave it to Qian. ”Your parents attended the wedding.”

Qian looked surprised by this. ”They did… I thought… you and my dad did not have a good relationship.”

”Your Wen family did not like me and my wife. Not your father. He was the best friend anyone would want,” he chuckled.

The Wen family was still very defensive about accepting a Murong close to them. They tried to restrict Wen from getting close but well.. his friend had thoughts of his own.

His stupid friend Wen was always there for them, even with the pressure of his family.

”A few months after our marriage was blissful. We traveled together.. my wife got admitted to the college in the psychology department. She wanted to learn more about her own mental health… she got better…”

”and…”

Coming to this part of the story, his eyes started to well up again. He could not even touch these next few photos without remembering the pain he felt.

”Uncle? It’s okay if you want to stop here. I don’t want to hurt your feelings..”’

”No.. no its okay. I can practice this story with you before I reveal it to my children. It’s just practice….. I will definitely not fall apart when I’m telling them for sure…”

With trembling hands, he took out the three ultrasound scans and placed them on the table gently. He did not have the heart to handle them roughly.

”oh, this must be Yue,” Qian happily took them and peered at them.

Soon his expression changed a bit. ”Uncle… one of the fetus is boy… one is a girl… who is this? Is this Tian’s?”

”no….. they are Yue’s unborn siblings.” He took a deep breath, holding back the wretched pain in his heart. ”Nui got pregnant right after we got married. It was a happy time…” he gently took the first ultrasound of the boy. ”This child was just 12 weeks old before…before he passed…”

”Just like that, we kept losing our children.”

He broke down and sobbed loudly. ”Our precious children kept dying… we got tested. They found out that it was my weak sperm that was causing the miscarriage…”

He directly took a glance at the young man. Qian was looking at the ultrasounds with an unknown expression on his face. ”Is that why?”

”Yes… my wife was getting sick again. With each loss, she lost a part of herself. She was not eating sleeping.. I could not bear to see her like that, knowing that it was all my fault. So we chose to go to a sperm donor.”

”The sperm bank suggested some but Nui was not satisfied…. she really didn’t want to carry another man’s child… that’s when your mom and dad came to us. They were more than ready to be the donor. It was consented by your mother; your father is not at fault. Your mum was the kindest and sweetest person I’ve ever seen.”

”I know..” Qian smiled at him sadly. ”She was the best…”

Zou Wei was at the end of his folder. There were only a few photos he had prepared in there. He handed the one with Qian’s parents to him. ”This was when Yue was born. Your mum loved him so much.”

Qian happily took it from him. ”Is that Yue in my mum’s arms? Oh my god, he is small..”

”Yeah, he was a small boy… such a cute and sweet child. Your family loved him to the core.” he took out the last photo on there.

It was a childhood photo of a three-year-old Yue who was playing with a ten-year-old Qian and another black-haired child.

”Oh shit, is that Fan?! Why didn’t I remember this?”

”You kids were young. That annoying kid was Fan Xui, huh? Even back then, He enjoyed sticking close to Yue all the time.”

Thinking back, whenever he visited the Wen mansion, Fan Xui would be there. He was a silent kid. He usually only spoke a few words..

But whenever he saw Yue, he would rush up to them and play with him.

’That kid. He must have been in love with Yue for a long time.’

”so what happened? Why did you guys move away from g city?” Qian curiously whispered.

”Well… my wife.. She has separation anxiety. Every time Yue went to your home she would get sick. She never said it outright, but she feared that your family will ask for Yue’s custody. It was a reasonable fear. Your grandmother and your grandfather loved him to the core…”

Zou Wei was slightly regretful about moving to S city. Keeping Yue from his other family was a cruel thing to do. But if it soothed his wife’s anxiety, he would have done anything.

”So now you know…” he collected all the photos and ultrasounds in the folder.

Qian was looking at him with a slight frown. ”Aunty Nui never mentioned the other children.”

”Because she doesn’t remember them. She got really sick back then, and she lost most of her memory. The doctors said it was a way of protecting her mind.” He subtly glanced at him with a glare. ”You better not tell anyone about my wife’s situation, especially your dad. It’s an absolute secret. Even my children don’t know about this.”

”You won’t tell them?”

”Not now. I will tell them soon..”

”When?”

”Qian, I don’t know. When my wife is ready, she and I will have a talk with them. She is getting better now…. soon, She will be ready to tell her story to them. Until then, I would like you to keep this a secrete,”

Qian nodded. ”Sure…”

But unknown to them, another person was listening in on their conversation.
