Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse [BL]

”start it in the count of three... one... two... three,” Yue shouted.

Fan Xui started up the plant.

The machines whirred loudly and some pipes groaned. Soon, the gushing sound of water flushed into the pipes. The plant was running smoothly.

”woohooo!! We did it!!!” Yue ran to his sister and hugged her tightly. ”We finally did it!”

Tian hugged him back. ”Yes we did,”

While everyone was happily smiling and laughing the fake repairman silently sat in the corner. ”The power.... will we even go to the dam?”

Yue glanced at Tian. ”We should fix the hydro electric generators,”

”Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We should just check them out. Cuz we don’t have a repairman in hand. It will be hard to do anything technical.”

”okey dokey,”

Since they had to check up on the treatment plant after they fix the hydro generators, their team was split into two. One team with Yue, Tian, the fake mechanic, and Fan Xui was in charge of taking care of the dam, and the second team with Hary, Prisitsky, and the two other’s soldiers were in charge of staying put and monitoring the changes.

Fan Xui reconnected all the wires he had torn up to test this powering unit and climbed down patting his hand. ”When are we leaving?”

”Today if we can,” Yue held his hands. ”We have to pack our food and water separately. The repair work there might take a few days,”

They got on with the work.

They presently had two bags of food and eight people. It was easy to divide it. but the water... there were only three 1 liter bottles left.

It was clearly not enough of eight men. There was an abundance of water in the river and in the plant but none of that can be drinkable unless they purified it.

Drinking it now would be a great risk.

Yue found an empty bottle from the side and half-filled it up, dividing three bottles into one and halves.

”Water will last only for a day or two. The hydroelectric motors should be fixed by then,” Tian whispered into his ears.

”mnn, we’ll see what we can do,”

With everything packed, they set out for the dam.

The rest of the team sent them off by the door.

Hary especially seemed anxious about their separation. He held Tian’s hand softly. ”We’ll wait for you for, don’t take long. Stay safe, okay?”

”Just two days. Wait for us for two days. If we don’t return, leave this place. There’s a water truck with keys right out. Take it and leave. We will find a way if we survive,” Tian softly whispered

Hary’s eyes went wide slightly. ”Tian...”

”Not another word, I’ll be fine. You stay safe too. Don’t venture out unnecessarily okay,” she squeezed his hand and let go. ”Yue, say your goodbyes to Hary,” she subtly winked at him.

”oh..” Yue came close and hugged him tight. ”Stay safe, okay,”

Hary awkwardly nodded. ”You too. Come back alive...”

”Definitely.”

Yue walked out of the door and swiftly wrapped his hands in a bandage.

”Did you copy it?” Tian nudged him.

”Yep, I’m not sure how long it will last though?”

The last time he tried testing his gills but somehow because he was cleaning the pipes he could not test it to its full extent.

Fan Xui was pouting glancing at his hands.

”Come on, you can’t be jealous of that simple touch, right?” Yue hugged his shoulder.

”Can’t I be jealous? My lover is touching someone else other than me.. it makes my blood boil,” Fan Xui said in such a serious one.

”It’s because I wanted to copy his ability. I forgot to mention I got a second ability. I can copy anyone’s ability. See,” he slightly cut into his arm. Blood flowed out, but it had a slight silvery sheen.

The silver bead-like shape formed in his fingertip. ”See this.”

Fan Xui held his wrist and peered at the bead of silvery metal. ”Did Hary attach it to you? I heard that he can use it to track us,”

”No this is my ability. I can copy anyone’s ability with just a touch of a hand.” he closed his fist. The small amount of metallic liquid formed into a small band around his wrist.

Yue jumped into the driver’s seat and started the jeep. A huge hoard of zombies charged at them. Somehow their numbers had increased in just a few days.

There were about fifty or so zombies.

A small flash of fire blazed up ahead.

Yue looked ahead with his eyes wide open. Tian is yet to use her powers. yet somehow something ahead of them was aflame. ’Don’t tell me…..’

A small child zombie stood there with a teddy bear in hand. the stuffed toy was burning brightly. Half of the zombie’s face was also aflame.

”Tian, ability zombie up ahead. Take it out!” He warned her slightly.

”on it,” Tian shot at it. The child zombie growled loudly, charging at their jeep. Unlike the usual zombies, this one did not jump onto their jeep or even try to get in. It directly clung to the wheel.

A distinct scent of burning rubber wafted in.

”Tian, take it out now. It’s melting out tires!”

”Fuck this one is slippery,”

Bullets flew around but the child zombie escaped unscathed. After melting their front wheel it jumped off to the side waiting for their jeep to stop.

Yue gritted his teeth. The ride became jumpier and bumpy. Everyone was up and shooting the surrounding zombies. Wearing a seat belt was not an option.

Since this jeep was off-road kind, it can even work without a tire albeit very very slow.

Yue peered at the rearview mirror. The child zombie waiting for their jeep to come to a stop.

’oh my god, what is this? Why are they getting intelligent.... fuck.... it’s weird?’

Even in his past life, he had never witnessed zombies like that water zombie or this fire zombie. They showed great intelligence that he never expected.

While he was distracted a zombie jumped onto the hood of the car with a thud.

”ahhh,...” the fake mechanic cried cowering in the back seat.

A lady zombie in specific was hard to shake off. Its grip was so tight that its fingers left behind a huge dent.

”Fuck, a strength ability zombie. Fan, Tian, take care of it fast. Make sure not to zap or shoot the jeep. It’s already in a bad state.”

Fan Xui stood up in his seat and sent out a charge of electricity at it. the zombie pulsated violently but even so, it did not collapse.

It was still gripping onto the hood tightly.

A single shot rang loudly and the zombie fell down and got crushed under the wheel.

”Got it. Yue stay right. I see a small door to the side of the dam,”

Yue looked out. The dam was majestic and huge. Looking closer, he noticed a small door on the side.

”It must be the control room.” Fan Xui whispered softly. ”I hope they have a manual for the operations and working of this place...”

Yue glanced at him. ”Would you be able to fix it if you have a manual?.”

”I can try my best to,” Fan Xui suddenly peered into his eyes and smiled dazzlingly. ”anything for you, my love... anything....”

Yue’s heart started to pound loudly in his ears. Tightly closing his eyes once he shook that feeling away. ’Not the time to be distracted by beauty, Yue.. It’s not the time.’
