Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse [BL]

Yue carefully drove, keeping an eye on the jeeps behind him. The three jeeps followed him close by, keeping a vigilant look around.

The surrounding ground was fully charred black. . ’looks like uncle gave an order to burn down anything close by...’

There were no plants or anything for that matter. Only a few wayward zombies roamed here and there.

As soon as they heard their jeep, they rushed close. The soldiers shot them down with ease.

’it’s weird... I haven’t seen a level one or any zombies with abilities.. why is that...’

It has already been a month and a half after the first zombie virus spread and half a month after the second meteor hit the world. By this time, the mutated animals and level one ability, zombies should have roamed everywhere.

But he spotted none nearby.

And the weather was getting a little foggy. The deep fog settled down in their path, hiding the road from his view.

This was a major red flag.

”Hary, inform the others to be very vigilant. Something feels weird...”

As they drove on, the roads became much harder to drive through. There were major cracks in the concrete and parts of it were popping off of the ground.

Yue slowed down a bit and peered at it. There was definitely a root sticking out of the road.

”Oh fuck....” Tian suddenly exclaimed.

”What is it? What’s wrong?”

She looked at him, eyes wide open. ”look at your sides..”

Yue narrowed his eyes and looked through the fog. He felt a soft wind on his face.. small rustling sound accompanied that.

’... these are..plants.’

”....Tian, this is the cornfield we came through, right?”

”mnhmm... it’s bad Yue.. it looks bad...” she mumbled tightly, holding the machine gun.

”What is it? I can’t see anything clearly” Fan Xui whispered looking out.

”Hary, is there a wind use behind us? Tell him to clear a path. I need a clear vision.”

”Wind users! Need clear vision!!” Hary shouted aloud.

A large gust of wind passed through the pathway, blowing away the fog, exposing the dark green leaf bladed spread on the road.

It was a corn felid they had harvested bags of corn from when they were returning from h city.

But now the crops had mutated. Every one of the stalks was as tall as a two-story building.

Yue gulped softly. ”We really should have burned down this place when we were traveling here...” he mumbled softly.

The leaves were enormous blade-like structures spading out everywhere in their path. If he looked closer, he noticed small barb-like structures on each of these leaves.

”Wow, this is amazing! I need samples!” priestly jumped over Hary’s lap to get down.

Tian hurriedly pulled him back to his seat and tightened his seat belt. ”Stay here. It is dangerous,”

”How can I even research anything if you guys won’t even let me outside?”

Yue stopped the jeep. ”Everyone stay in the car. I’ll take a look. If it’s safe, you can go and collect samples all you want, doctor.”

”Yeah~”

Yue opened the door.

”What?! no!” Fan Xui held his hand. ”you can’t go out there. Those things might hurt you..”

Yue blinked at him. ”Fan, it’s okay. I’ve fought those things before. I know how to defend myself. Don’t worry,” he got out and vigilantly walked over to the leave blades.

He sliced one of the low-hanging ones, clearing a small path of vision.

All he could see were those darn leaves...

He frowned deeply. ”This is tougher than I thought.”

He hurried back to the jeep.

”How is it?” Tian leaned forward.

”It’s bad. Leaves cover the road for at least two hundred meters. If we go in blindly, we might not be able to distinguish the roads from the cornfield...” Yue drummed the wheel, thinking of what to do.

They could burn a path for the jeeps. But it will take a lot of energy from Tian. As of now, she was the only fire user capable of huge fire tornadoes. She can do maximum damage if she wanted to.

’We can’t exhaust ourselves now...’

”Hary, tell the jeep to wait. I’ll see if it’s possible to drive through..” he started the jeep and drove to the nearest leaf blade.

The car tire crunched the leaves.

But all of a sudden there was a small bursting sound.

”Fuck the back tire’s burst!” Hary shouted.

”I knew it.. it’s not going to be that easy to drive over,” he hurriedly reversed the car and stopped along with the ream. ”Everyone get out. We have to manually clear a path. Stay close to your team. Non-military personnel, stay in the car. The others please use the military ax provided to cut a path,”

He got down with his sword.

Fan Xui also hesitantly got down.

Tian walked to him, cracking her knuckles. ”Should I do the honors?”

”Don’t waste too much energy. Burn only the base. The whole leaf will detach from the stalk.” he pointed to the base of the leaf blades. ”Me and the others will move the leaves out of the way. Hary, I need three good marksmen to have a watch out for us. Fan Xui, you take care of the tire,”

They moved fast and started to take down the leaves.

After Tian and the one other fire ability user burned down the stalk, it was much easier to chop down the blade of leaves.

Yue and the others hurriedly ran around, clearing them out of the way.

Now and then he took a glance at Fan Xui. He seemed to be doing much better than before.

’Shit I should have left Fan Xui back home...’

Anyone would get startled when they see all this for the first time. He overestimated Fan Xui a bit.

’This personality has never fought a zombie or learned to use his abilities yet.. fuck... I have to protect him at all cost. Bringing him out here was a big mistake.’

”Yue!” Tian shouted all of a sudden.

A small rustling sound came from behind. He swiftly dodged it and swung his sword.

There was nothing there…. he kept glancing down and in between the leaves, but he could not see anything.

The rustling was getting louder.

”Careful everyone. Something is hiding here,” he shouted.

The fogged-up cornfield made his heart pound louder.

’Maybe we should take another route.... this place does not feel good at all.’

”Yue, the path is cleared,” Hary hurriedly informed him.

”Fan is the jeep ready?”

”Hmm done,”

”Get in everyone. Drive as fast. We need to get out of here as soon as we can!” he jumped into the driver’s seat and zoomed through the roads.

”SQUEAK!!” Trexa suddenly struggled out of his pocket and glance around. Her whole posture was stiff as she peered out the window.

”What is it, baby? What do you sense?”

”s-squeak....” she trembled slightly and hid in his pockets.

He glanced at the cornfield. He could see subtly make out a figure moving on the ground.

Something black and grey was moving towards them fast..

”There are many movements,” Hary shouted.

”What is it?!”

Tian stood up with her binoculars. ”Shit! Yue speed up! Everyone speed up! It’s a bunch of mutated rats!”
