Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

For Third Junior Sister, an apology was acceptable, but she simply couldn’t bring herself to kneel and kowtow.

Now that her Senior Sister had spoken, and with dozens of Maze Madmen providing proof, she couldn’t find any more excuses even if she tried. Third Junior Sister was now in a dilemma, not knowing whether to kneel or not.

’I’m going to lose my mind,’ she thought.

Fortunately, Master Tian stepped forward. He gave Lu Chao a deep fist-and-palm salute and said, ”Young Master Lu, this whole misunderstanding is my fault. I apologize to you. As for Xiaohuo kneeling and kowtowing...”

Xiaohuo was Third Junior Sister, Lu He.

After a brief pause, Master Tian took another deep breath. ”Consider it a favor I owe you, Young Master Lu. In the future, if you but say the word, I will do my utmost to help, regardless of the danger.”

To give Third Junior Sister, Lu He, a way to save face, Master Tian had no choice but to make Lu Chao a grand promise.

”Also, I was quite offensive earlier...”

As he spoke, Master Tian retrieved several weapons and treasures from his Storage Ring. ”Young Master Lu,” he said, ”please, take whatever you like.”

This was the generous gift he had promised to give Lu Chao.

Qian Ya stepped forward as well. ”Young Master Lu, if there is anything you require, I can agree to it on behalf of the Qianjian Sect. Our Sect Leader is my father, so I have the final say.”

Their words made Lu He feel even more embarrassed.

She couldn’t hold back and blurted out, ”Master Tian! Senior Sister! I’ll kneel and kowtow to him. You don’t need to make him any promises!”

As she spoke, Lu He was about to kneel before Lu Chao...

However, Lu Chao suddenly spoke, interrupting her...

”Since you have both put it that way, I am not one to drag things out. Let’s leave it at that.”

He didn’t make Lu He kneel; that wasn’t important.

What mattered was their attitude. From what Qian Ya and Master Tian had said, Lu Chao could already tell that the Qianjian Sect was a genuinely upstanding sect.

Securing a favor and a promise from them was far more important than making Third Junior Sister, Lu He, kneel and apologize.

He had just slapped them hard in the face with the facts. If he kept at it, he would make a real enemy of them.

”Thank you for being magnanimous, Young Master Lu. But an apology is still required. Third Junior Sister...”

As she spoke, Qian Ya turned to look at Lu He.

The latter finally had to admit her mistake to Lu Chao, her face flushed with shame.

With things having reached this point, the two Qianjian Sect disciples who had been defeated by Lu Chao could only obediently come over and apologize.

Then, the atmosphere became tense again. Qian Ya and Master Tian opened their mouths as if to speak but then hesitated.

Lu Chao, of course, knew what they wanted to say. He spoke frankly, ”Senior Sister Qian, let me try to treat your injury now.”

When he finished speaking, Qian Ya and Master Tian quietly sighed in relief before looking at Lu Chao with a hint of excitement. Their willingness to yield so quickly was largely because Lu Chao possessed the Fire Roaring and Water Chant Bones.

Their Senior Sister had to recover within half a month.

Taking a deep breath, Qian Ya replied, ”There’s no rush. Young Master Lu, please pick your compensation from Master Tian first. We should also discuss your payment. What sort of reward do you have in mind?”

She got straight to the point. Because of what had just happened, they already owed Lu Chao a favor and a promise.

That kind of debt couldn’t be measured in money. It was better to give him something tangible now, rather than incurring another massive favor.

In response, Lu Chao slowly raised his head and said, ”I want to participate in the Green Bone Palace’s entrance test.”

He also got straight to the point. There was no need to beat around the bush.

When he said this, Qian Ya and Master Tian were stunned. Lu He, still fuming, widened her eyes. She couldn’t help but blurt out, ”Impossible! You’re dreaming! With a Heavenly Destiny Bone of your rank, you want to...”

Before she could finish, Qian Ya immediately scolded, ”Third Junior Sister, watch your words.”

Lu He’s mouth twitched slightly. She could only bite her lip and soften her tone.

”The minimum requirement for the Green Bone Palace to accept a disciple is to have a Moon-level Heavenly Bone. There are almost no exceptions.”

”Among the younger generation of our Qianjian Sect, only Senior Sister has a Moon-level Heavenly Bone.”

Lu Chao’s head snapped up, a flicker of shock in his eyes, but he quickly composed himself.

As the preeminent sect for the old Azure Flame Sect, the Cyan Sword Great Empire, and even the entire Biyue Continent—an existence akin to a holy land—the Green Bone Palace’s standards for accepting disciples were naturally extremely high.

Otherwise, people wouldn’t say that there are almost no disciples from the Green Bone Palace in the entire Cyan Sword Great Empire.

Chi Xingxun has a Moon-level Earth Bone. He is also a genius in the Cyan Sword Great Empire, yet he doesn’t meet the Green Bone Palace’s standards.

”Besides, a Moon-level Heavenly Bone is just the threshold. The success rate is very low.”

Lu He continued her explanation, ”If I’m not mistaken, both your Fire Roaring and Water Chant Bones are just Moon-level Mortal Bones, right?”

This was why Lu He had just said Lu Chao was dreaming.

Beside them, Qian Ya gently added...

”Of course, there are exceptions. For instance, some particularly special Heavenly Destiny Bones, or high-potential, evolving Heavenly Destiny Bones that are projected to at least reach the Moon-level Heavenly Bone stage.”

”Or, those who have performed some great service for the Green Bone Palace can also be an exception.”

At this point, Qian Ya looked deeply at Lu Chao and said, ”If you still wish to try, Young Master Lu, then as long as our Qianjian Sect can secure its position as a Four Moon Sect, we can give you a spot.”

In other words, she was agreeing.

A glint flashed in Lu Chao’s eyes. He finally replied in a low voice, ”I’ll... consider it...”

”Alright. You have half a month to give me your answer, Young Master Lu.” Qian Ya nodded emphatically.

After the conditions were settled, the rest was simple. Lu Chao examined Qian Ya on the spot and discovered that she was actually a master Above the Creation. At her age, that was terrifying.

Without hesitation, the True Qi from his Fire Roaring and Water Chant Bones slowly flowed into Qian Ya...

A look of relief washed over Qian Ya’s face; it was clearly having an effect.

An hour later, Lu Chao withdrew his True Qi and said, ”I’m only at the Peak Realm. To fully restore Senior Sister Qian’s Heavenly Destiny Ice Flame Bone, it will take several more sessions. However, it should be no problem to finish within half a month.”

Because of the gap in their realms, Lu Chao couldn’t heal Qian Ya completely in one go.

Despite this, Qian Ya still expressed her gratitude.

Then, she suddenly looked toward the Nether Spring Mountain Range and turned to Master Tian and the others.

”Regarding the fact that Young Master Lu can heal my injuries, you must keep it a secret. Don’t even tell Second Junior Brother and the others.”

”After the Maze Madman competition in the Nether Spring Mountain Range, there’s another competition among the sect disciples. We need to make the hidden mastermind underestimate us. We have to let them think I’m still injured.”

After Master Tian and the others gave their solemn promise, Qian Ya looked at Lu Chao again.

Lu Chao smiled faintly.

”Rest assured. My chance to even consider taking the Green Bone Palace’s test depends on your Qianjian Sect securing its position as a Four Moon Sect.”

This, of course, was his agreement to keep the secret.

Next, everyone returned to the camp. Master Tian, of course, arranged a private room for Lu Chao. In his hand, Lu Chao held a deep blue spear—the generous gift he had requested from Master Tian.
