Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 1944: Chapter 1944: We Do So Willingly

The problem is, this thing won’t give them any time to prepare—it hits them out of nowhere.

“So according to the Shop Assistant, if we travel by night, we should be able to reach the Eternal Night Sect in about seven or eight days,” An Jiuyue estimated. It was within this time frame that they could travel to the Eternal Night Sect, obtain the Qe Mingmu, and then move on to the next plane.

Of course, that was under the assumption that they didn’t encounter any other incidents that would delay their journey.

But reality was that they did indeed run into trouble.

…

After they resumed their journey, whether by chance or not, on the fourth day, they ran into a group of people who were also traveling at Eternal Night Time.

...
However, this group of people was much less fortunate.

They had been targeted by man-eating demonic beasts, and with a few roars, what had been a large group dwindled in the blink of an eye, losing a few, then another blink, and two or three more were gone.

The group quickly descended into panic; the more timid among them thought about running away.

“Protect the young masters, and form a circle around them as the center,”

A hoarse voice rang out, suggesting a plan to protect their young masters as best as they could.

But at that moment, everyone’s mind was seized with fear of the unknown demonic beasts. Thoughts of protecting the young masters went unheard, let alone considering the youth they had always been shielding.

“Don’t panic! Form a circle, our swords aren’t just for show. Fight with what you have. As the chief elder, I refuse to believe that so many of us can’t take down a single demonic beast. What does it matter if it eats people? We have numbers on our side.”

Seeing everyone’s panic, the elder roared in anger, which finally brought back their sense of reason.

Eventually, they heeded his words; they gradually calmed down. Those who were armed immediately drew their swords and formed a circle around a young man, all facing outward, vigilantly alert.

In the Eternal Night Plane, no one had ever seen those so-called man-eating demonic beasts, and even the lucky few who had escaped from the maw of these creatures had never seen what they actually looked like.

Because during Eternal Night Time, visibility was poor and no one could make out the state of their surroundings, let alone the demonic beasts within three meters of them.

“It’s all my fault; I’ve dragged everyone down,”

the young man said, his face full of dejection and self-blame.

If it weren’t for protecting him, everyone wouldn’t have needed to venture out during Eternal Night Time. It would’ve been fine to find a small town and settle down for the night.

But it was precisely because they needed to protect him that they were pursued, and in the end, they had no choice but to flee from the town in an attempt to save their lives, offering themselves to the man-eating demonic beasts in the wilderness under the cover of Eternal Night Time.

“Young master, don’t talk like that. Protecting you is our duty,” the elder disagreed with him. Among their group, there was no question of who had dragged whom down.

Even if the young master was no longer present, those who pursued them would not stop until every one of them was caught, as long as a single person from their group was alive, those chasing them would not rest.

Their aim was to wipe them all out in one go, ensuring the Old Sect Master would never see his young master again.

“Coming to the outskirts with the young master was our own choice; we all came prepared,”

a man wielding a sword said earnestly, his eyes fixed intently forward as if expecting a demonic beast to leap out at any moment and devour him.
