Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 397: Chapter 397 - Cleaning up the remnants

After the first carriage has been filled up, me and the guards that escorted me, returned to the community kitchen area to have a quick wash of our hands and arms as if nothing happened. We joined in the meal prep and by noon, we are eating another sumptuous lunch.

After the meal, two of the guards who were assigned on the first carriage, bid their goodbyes so they can take their leave back to the capital. I placed several spells on the carriages to make them lighter, faster and stealthier on their way back. With the enhancements, the usual three and a half hour travel to Hoffen City from our current location should be shortened to almost by half.

I plan to make my move tonight to deal with the remnants in the forest and the lake. I have so many things to do in the town for now so I won’t think about them for now. Since I feel full and the first carriage has been sent away as I planned, I went back to the clinic to continue the lessons with my apprentices. The lesson lasted for about 5 hours until it was time to cook dinner.

The dinner was again amazing and the community looked way livelier compared to when I first arrived here. When night fell and all the townspeople have retired back to their houses, it is finally my turn to visit their lair since the bandits kept on sending their people to mine. It was my turn to make a visit.

Just when I was about to make my way out of the gates, I saw a woman who should be at most in her 60s walking proudly towards the gates of Ersha as if she owns the place. When she reached the gates, she shrieked at the top of her lungs. saying ”Bert, you cowardly trash! Come out!” not caring whether the whole community was woken up.

The town chief, Bert, hurriedly came out of his house and walked to the gates to meet the obnoxious and noisy woman. The chief was about to ask what she needed, when the elderly woman walked towards him and gave him a resounding slap. She then started berating the chief, ”Who do you think you are to hostage my people? I know you have them so you better release them while I am being nice. Who gave you the audacity to take my husbands, sons and even my sons-in-law, huh?!”

From what I can hear, I guess banditry was a family business for these guys. It would have been amusing drama to watch, if not for the fact that Bert, a man who is surely weaker than a woman’s physique, fell to the ground with his lips bleeding and the right side of his face immediately swelling up. I walked out from the shadows and with a quick teleport, reappeared in front of Bert as I helped him up and checked on his injuries. I gave him a healing potion and then gave him a jar of ointment to put on his face.

The older woman, noticing that nobody even bothered to answer her questions, got even more irritated as she started shrieking again that we are rude to the elderly. She then started asking me, the ”whore” in her words, why I am helping Bert while she was punishing him. I turned around slowly with a smile on my face and simply said that I am the town’s doctor.

Hearing that I was nothing but another worker for the town, the elderly woman had a smug look in her face as she started to order me around to go back to the camp and treat her relatives for free and that I should serve them from now on. It was my turn to smirk and with a blink of an eye, I was one step in front of her and I slapped her face, way harder than she slapped the chief.

The old woman flew a bit off the ground even though she was heavy and round. She landed a few steps away from me and rolled a few times. She was immediately knocked out cold with her lip busted on the side and some of her teeth became loose and got spat out of her mouth. There was blood on her mouth and her face swelled even faster than how Bert’s did. She also had bruises, wounds and scratches from rolling on the ground.

Since she wants to be with her children, I can definitely send her with them. She is the last one I needed to complete the 17 people quota to fill up the second carriage. I pulled her with no care into the direction where the second carriage was. I did not care even if she bumped her head a few times or if I add more wounds on her in the process.

I walked back to my pit prison, threw some fainting medicine in it, much to the panic and loud complaints of the remaining 16 bandits inside. After confirming that they were all knocked out, I took them out and chained them in the second carriage as stealthily as I can. The second carriage then left Ersha in the dead of night to bring the prisoners to the capital.

Now that everything has settled down, I can finally go and complete the mission I was supposed to do. I waited a bit for the people to return to their homes and back to sleep so I had to wait roughly for an an hour or so. Once everything was quiet, I made my move.

I ran through the forest at top speed while sporting my favorite spell combination of strength, speed and stealth. It took me barely a few minutes to reach the bandits’ base camp. I observed for a while, checking on which ones were away from the group so I can start with those. Honestly, I was like picking them one by one like it was no big deal.

It only took one move to knock them out and another one to teleport them inside my pit. Only a few of them are outside on night duty while the rest were sleeping, drunk or busy fucking the night away. They might have thought that the missing members simply stayed inside the town torturing the villagers or went in other places to extort stuff. They might also be thinking that the town is already in the palm of their hands and nobody from our side would be brave enough to fight back, much less think of an attack.
