Taking a deep breath, Lin Feng put away the pill, walked to the window, and looked out at the sky. The sun had just risen not long ago.

He quickly checked out of his room and strode toward the Flying Transportation Company located at the center of the city.

The reason he had been staying in Black Rock City all this time was his concern that Rock Desert City, where Qing Lin was located, might not have the necessary ingredients for refining the Breaking Qi Pill.

Now that he had successfully refined it, there was no reason to remain here any longer.

Qing Lin was a genius with Dou Sheng potential. The sooner he met her, the better.

As long as he could secure an important place in Qing Lin’s heart, he would have a powerful backer in the future. With such a connection, would he ever lack cultivation resources again?

After all, he had no idea how far he could go in cultivation.

After passing through several streets, Lin Feng arrived at a vast square for the first time. Standing there was a massive establishment—the Flying Transportation Company.

Within the spacious square, more than a dozen large flying bird beasts were resting.

These bird beasts were called Thick Winged Birds. They did not belong to the category of Magic Beasts but were purely ordinary birds. They had an extremely gentle temperament and were the easiest creatures for humans to tame.

However, due to their limited numbers, only an empire had the resources to form a flying transport fleet with them.

Although the speed of these Thick Winged Birds could not compare to other flying Magic Beasts, their endurance was exceptional.

As long as they were well-fed, they could maintain a steady flight for four to five days. Additionally, their carrying capacity was outstanding.

A fully grown Thick Winged Bird could easily carry five to six times its own weight while maintaining long-distance flights.

However, during times of war, the empire would forcibly reclaim these birds for military use.

Only when the war ended would they be returned to the civilian transport company.

Thus, many of these birds had once experienced brutal battles.

After casually stopping a passerby to ask for directions, Lin Feng followed the instructions and arrived at the ticket counter beside the main hall. He purchased a flying ticket to Desert City.

Following a corridor, he entered an open area and gazed at the enormous Thick Winged Birds before him. He couldn’t help but think of airplanes and airports from his past life.

Lost in thought for a while, he was brought back to reality by the urging of the ticket inspector. After verifying his ticket, he entered the designated cabin.

Lin Feng cultivated for a short while in his room.

Then, with a loud and clear screech, the Thick Winged Bird soared into the sky under the guidance of the beast tamers.

Heading toward the eastern part of the empire—Rock Desert City—the journey began.

Perhaps due to its proximity to the desert, the weather here was extremely dry and hot.

The scorching sunlight poured down from the sky, baking the earth below and causing waves of heat to rise.

These heatwaves distorted the air, making the view appear somewhat blurry and warped.

”Whoosh~”

With the sound of strong gusts of wind hitting the blue-bricked ground, the Thick Winged Bird, after flying for several days, landed steadily in the designated open space of Desert City’s flying transport station.

Stepping down from the flying beast, Lin Feng took a deep breath and, for the first time, felt the Dou Qi within him surging actively.

Even the circulation of his cultivation technique was significantly faster than usual. After carefully sensing his surroundings, he suddenly realized:

”No wonder... nearly eighty percent of the energy in the air here belongs to earth and fire attributes.”

Walking through the streets of Desert City, Lin Feng curiously observed the pedestrians around him.

Most of the men were shirtless, their dark skin glistening with a rugged, sturdy look. At first glance, they seemed quite bold and forthright.

As for the women he occasionally passed by, their skin, though also slightly tanned, carried a rich bronze tone—one that exuded a sensual beauty.

The women here were nothing like the reserved and shy ladies from the inner regions of the empire.

Dressed in tight leather outfits, their attire barely covered their chests and just a little below.

Their slender waists were boldly exposed, and their long, toned legs were only wrapped in short skirts or shorts.

As they walked, their snake-like waists swayed, carrying a unique charm and allure.

Strolling through the streets, Lin Feng feasted his eyes on the exotic scenery.

Luckily, Xiao Yixian had gone to the Chu Yun Empire. Otherwise, if she had seen this, he probably wouldn’t have had a good time today.

After a while, Lin Feng shook his head to clear his thoughts. Grabbing a passerby at random, he asked, ”Old sir, how do I get to Rock Desert City?”

”Rock Desert City?”

The elderly man pondered for a moment before pointing his cane towards the west side of the city.

”Head that way. Near the western gate, there’s an open space with many merchant caravans heading to Rock Desert City. You can pay them a fee to travel with them, which will be much safer for you.”

”Thank you, old sir.”

After expressing his gratitude, Lin Feng strode quickly toward the western side of the city.

As he walked along the street, he noticed a shop named ’Ancient Map’ that specialized in maps.

Stopping for a moment in thought, he ultimately decided to keep moving forward.

At present, he was merely a third-tier alchemist and didn’t have the ability to lift Hai Bodong’s seal.

Let alone obtain the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame’s remnant map from him.

Since Desert City wasn’t very large, Lin Feng soon arrived at the open space the old man had mentioned.

Looking ahead, he saw a vast area filled with hundreds of camels.

Among them were numerous mercenaries and merchant caravans, loudly advertising their services and looking for traveling companions.

”The Leopard Mercenary Group is recruiting a four-star Dou Zhe or higher to join us in hunting Magic Beasts in the desert!”

”A mercenary team heading into the desert is looking for one more member! Interested? Come quickly!”

”This merchant caravan has a Dou Shi-level expert protecting it! Looking for a traveler heading to the imperial capital—guaranteed safety!”

From a distance, it was manageable, but as Lin Feng got closer, the countless shouts made his head ache slightly.

Taking a moment to adjust, he soon adapted to the noise and began wandering through the crowd, looking for a suitable caravan.

Before long, he heard a shout from a group looking for passengers heading to Rock Desert City.

Without hesitation, he turned and walked toward the source of the voice.

Approaching the burly man calling for passengers, Lin Feng asked, ”Uncle, how much to go to Rock Desert City?”

”One thousand gold coins.”

The man glanced at Lin Feng’s ordinary attire and decided against overcharging him excessively.

Hearing the price, Lin Feng immediately bargained, ”One thousand? That’s way too expensive, Uncle. How about five hundred?”

”Hey, kid, one thousand is already a fair price. You’re cutting it in half? That’s too low. Our caravan even has an eight-star Dou Zhe protecting it! Alright, I’ll give you a discount—eight hundred gold coins. How about that?”

”Uncle, even a caravan with a Dou Shi charges around that much. Five hundred is already reasonable.”

”…”

After a round of bargaining, Lin Feng successfully reduced the price to seven hundred gold coins.

Seeing the man agree, Lin Feng reluctantly pulled out half the amount as a deposit, pretending to feel the pinch, then followed him to the caravan.

Of course, it wasn’t that Lin Feng couldn’t afford the one thousand gold coins.

However, these merchant caravans might seem legitimate, but if they sniffed out a big fat sheep, they could turn into bandits at any moment—robbing and even killing their passengers.

Although Lin Feng could easily deal with these Dou Zhe, it was better to take a few minutes to bargain and avoid unnecessary trouble.

Besides, he had never entered the desert before—his experience was zero.

For safety’s sake, it was best to follow these seasoned travelers.

After all, even with camels and without getting lost, it would still take several days to reach Rock Desert City.
