BTTH : From Humble Beginnings to Dou Di

”Help you? But I don’t even know how to fight. Besides, are you sure you can handle Mu She? He’s a Two-Star Dou Shi, and from what I’ve heard recently, he even possesses a Black-Class dou technique.”

Xiao Yixian frowned, her expression equally serious.

Hearing her concern, Lin Feng reassured her, ”In the Magic Beast Mountain Range, I already killed Mu Li, He Meng, and their entire team. As for Mu She...”

He paused for a moment before continuing, ”You’ve had the Rainbow Poison Book for quite some time now, so I’m sure you’ve figured out a few things. If you can use poison to eliminate the other mercenaries and create an opportunity for me to fight Mu She one-on-one, I have an eighty percent chance of winning.”

”Oh? I didn’t expect you to be able to kill He Meng, an Eight-Star Dou Zhe... Well then, wait here for me.”

Xiao Yixian looked at Lin Feng in surprise, not expecting him to have grown so powerful already.

After hesitating for a brief moment, she clenched her teeth. She also wanted to settle this matter once and for all. Nodding in agreement, she turned around and began packing her things.

—Knock, knock—

Just as she was putting things away, a knock sounded at the door.

However, the person outside, despite making it seem like a polite inquiry, pushed the door open immediately after knocking.

A middle-aged man’s voice rang out, ”Xiao Yixian, have you thought it through? As long as you hand over the Black-Class cultivation technique and dou technique, I will take you as my wife. That way, not only will you have protection, but you can also focus entirely on your medical research here.”

Hearing this, Xiao Yixian felt nothing but mockery in her heart.

This ”Boss Yao” was already in his fifties, yet he wanted to marry her? Was he hoping to gain both wealth and beauty in one move?

Besides, having spent so many years at Thousand Medicine House, did he really think she wasn’t aware of the situation here?

The only reason Thousand Medicine House could stand on equal footing with the three major mercenary groups in Qingshan Town was because healers held a special status among mercenaries.

Boss Yao himself was originally a healer. He had never truly experienced any battles. Did he seriously think that after obtaining some treasure, he could protect himself?

If he got his hands on it in the morning, the three mercenary groups would probably wipe him out by the afternoon!

Boss Yao stepped into the room, sweeping his gaze around.

His expression suddenly shifted when he spotted the young man inside. His brows furrowed slightly.

With a wave of his hand, the four guards behind him quickly stepped forward, drawing their weapons and aiming them at the two people in the room.

”Xiao Yixian, who is this?”

His gaze landed on Xiao Yixian, who was still focused on packing her things. With a fake smile, he asked.

”Lin Feng.”

Hearing Boss Yao’s words, a trace of killing intent flashed through Lin Feng’s eyes, but his tone remained calm.

”Lin Feng? Weren’t you being hunted by the Wolf Head Mercenary Group in the Magic Beast Mountain Range?”

Boss Yao was momentarily stunned. Then, a gleam of delight flickered in his eyes as he chuckled politely, ”Heh, I didn’t expect young brother Lin Feng to be so capable. To actually survive the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s pursuit and walk out of the Magic Beast Mountain Range—that is truly admirable.”

”Just lucky.”

Lin Feng glanced at him indifferently and smiled, ”I need to leave with Xiao Yixian soon. Will you step aside?”

Boss Yao’s face twitched slightly before forcing a smile, ”It must be fate that brought us together. Since you’ve come to Thousand Medicine House, you should stay a little longer. I do enjoy befriending people like you, young brother Lin Feng.”

As he spoke, Boss Yao took a step back and waved his hand slightly.

His four guards immediately understood his signal, swiftly stepping forward to shut the door and standing firmly in place, blocking the exit completely.

Watching their smooth and practiced actions, Boss Yao nodded in satisfaction.

He had long heard rumors that Lin Feng possessed treasures from a hidden cave, and now that Lin Feng had delivered himself to his doorstep, there was no way he would let him leave so easily.

”Heh, a mere Nine-Star Dou Zhe and four Four-Star Dou Zhe think they can trap me? How laughable!”

Seeing their actions, Lin Feng sneered, giving Xiao Yixian a slight glance, signaling her to handle the four Four-Star Dou Zhe.

In the next instant, Lin Feng’s figure vanished, directly charging toward Boss Yao!

”Stop him!”

Boss Yao, having spent his life as a healer and having enjoyed years of peace, had terrible combat instincts.

Now, seeing Lin Feng approaching at high speed, he instinctively called out to his guards.

However, when he turned his head, he realized something horrifying—his guards had already collapsed without him even noticing!

With no time to activate a dou technique, Boss Yao crossed his arms in front of him, planning to take Lin Feng’s attack head-on.

After all, from the information he had gathered, Lin Feng was only a particularly strong Two-Star Dou Zhe.

If he could withstand this one attack and adjust himself, how could he possibly lose to Lin Feng?

—Puchi!—

The moment he made contact with Lin Feng, a scorching pain erupted in his arms, spreading like wildfire throughout his body.

In the next moment, his entire body felt weightless—his feet had lifted off the wooden floor!

The scenery around him blurred as he was sent flying backward at high speed.

With a loud crash, Boss Yao slammed heavily into the room’s door.

The impact was so forceful that the door was completely destroyed, sending both Boss Yao and wooden debris flying outside.

Ironically, since Lin Feng and Xiao Yixian were about to leave, Boss Yao had helpfully used his back to ”open” the door for them.

But at the same time, he was hurled several meters away, landing in a heap among the shattered wood.

Lin Feng calmly withdrew his hand and turned to Xiao Yixian.

”Problem solved. Let’s go.”

Xiao Yixian’s previous concerns had nearly vanished after witnessing Lin Feng’s sheer strength.

”To take down a Nine-Star Dou Zhe in one move… It seems you really do have what it takes to fight Mu She.”

Lin Feng tilted his head slightly and replied, ”Don’t get too confident. This Boss Yao might be a Nine-Star Dou Zhe, but his actual combat power was even weaker than He Meng, an Eight-Star Dou Zhe.”

With that, Lin Feng took the lead and stepped out.

”Hmph! I was trying to praise you, you know!” Xiao Yixian pouted before quickly following him.

”Cough… cough…”

As Lin Feng passed by, Boss Yao, lying on the ground, struggled to speak.

But the moment he opened his mouth, a rush of blood flooded his throat, drowning out his words and reducing them to nothing more than meaningless gurgles.

Lin Feng glanced at him, immediately recognizing his desperate attempt to beg for mercy.

However, he had no interest in entertaining the man.

With a swift and ruthless kick to Boss Yao’s throat, he ended his life.

After all, from the moment Boss Yao tried to force Xiao Yixian into marriage, Lin Feng had already decided where he would be buried.

Because—Xiao Yixian was his woman, and no one else was allowed to touch her!

Afterward, Lin Feng crouched down, removed Boss Yao’s storage ring, and discovered that it contained quite a few valuable medicinal herbs.

Satisfied, he stashed them away before heading off with Xiao Yixian toward the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s base.
