Chapter 118: Chapter 96: Teddiursa and the ”Hero

The hero can freely transform into other Pokemon.

The hero said it’s traveling around the world.

The hero is a very powerful Pokemon. Although Teddiursa has never seen its true form, it can make a dozen Meowth scatter with just one move.

Teddiursa has never seen such a Pokemon.

Under the hero’s protection, Teddiursa left the city and returned to the mountains according to the memories of its route.

Upon returning, Teddiursa brought with it a stone it casually picked up on the way to the ranch, hoping to trade it with Naoki for food.

However, Teddiursa explained for a long time, but Naoki didn’t understand a word.

Judging by Teddiursa’s expression, it seemed its experience must have been very exciting.

Teddiursa wore a satisfied expression.

Seeing this, Naoki took out several pieces of pudding and small bread to feed it.

Teddiursa was slightly stunned at this sight, its eyes full of confusion: ”Yum?”

Why are there so many today?

It clearly only brought back a stone!

”Just eat!” Naoki didn’t hide his concern: ”I haven’t seen you for such a long time, I thought you were captured by other trainers and put into a Poke Ball, and I would never see you again.”

”Yum...”

Teddiursa was moved to tears.

Naoki said with a laugh and tears in his eyes: ”Take your time eating. You enjoy first; I have some things to do.”

Teddiursa obediently nodded, showing genuine emotion rather than any facade.

Naoki is really kind! Teddiursa thought. This was the first time someone showed such concern for it.

Naoki got up and left the room, heading outside to continue combing the fur of three Gogoats.

Today is the day of the Spring Cow and Sheep Competition, so he has to groom the Gogoat’s wool cleanly and take them to participate.

The weather today was great. Alcremie and Smoliv also came outside to enjoy sunbathing.

Dragonite practiced Rain Dance beside the farmland.

Koraidon and Cyclizar sat by Naoki, watching him comb Gogoat’s fur.

In the wooden cabin, only Teddiursa was left.

As it happily licked honey, a figure suddenly appeared in the room.

If Naoki was here, he would instantly recognize the name of this Pokemon.

It was an Abra.

Abra floated in mid-air, watching Teddiursa eat pudding. There was a flash of light on its body, and suddenly, Abra disappeared, replaced by a ”Teddiursa” sitting opposite Teddiursa.

”Yum?”

At this moment, Teddiursa also noticed the figure opposite.

It’s the hero!

Its eyes lit up, recalling the hero’s life-saving grace, and it actively shared its pudding with the hero.

The ”hero” seemed very interested in these puddings and small bread.

It tilted its head to look for a while, then, in Teddiursa’s manner, picked up a pudding and took a bite.

Instantly, its eyes opened wide, and it sped up its eating of the pudding.

Seeing this scene, Teddiursa also felt very happy because it seemed the hero also found the pudding delicious.

After a while, footsteps suddenly sounded from outside the door.

The ”hero” seemed to sense something, quickly stuffing the last piece of small bread into its mouth, then disappeared from the room.

Naoki walked in from outside, standing at the door watching Teddiursa inside, surprised to see it had finished all the food.

He didn’t think much of it, though, and asked, ”Now I’m going to town for the event, do you want to come along?”

”Yum...”

Teddiursa thought carefully. If it were before, it might not have agreed.

But after recent events, it developed a curious feeling towards the world beyond the mountains, wanting to see this larger world, like the hero who saved it from Meowth’s claws.

So Teddiursa nodded and agreed.

”Then let’s go together!” Naoki said with a smile.

Time was running close; he retrieved the three Gogoats into Poke Balls, handed the ranch affairs to Dragonite and Cyclizar, and took Teddiursa, riding Koraidon to the event at Festival Plaza.

By the time he arrived, the plaza was already crowded with many townsfolk and nearby ranchers.

Ribbons and banners were hung at the plaza entrance, with the words ”Spring Cow and Sheep Competition” written on the banner.

Judges’ tables were set up in the plaza, looking very official.

On the nearby grass, there were various cow and sheep Pokemon, like Mareep, Wooloo, Miltank, Bouffalant, Dubwool, and more.

Their respective ranchers stood beside them, preparing to participate in the upcoming competition.

The townsfolk gathered on another side. Among the crowd, Naoki saw Mrs. Dantes, who ordered sheep’s milk from him, saw Zack, saw Keri, and saw Mayor Thomas.

Allen, the mailman, spotted him with sharp eyes, waving forcefully and shouting through the crowd: ”Hey! Naoki, over here!”

Naoki got up and walked forward.

Allen looked at his side and asked, ”Where’s the Gogoat? Without them, you can’t participate in the competition!”

”Here they are!” Naoki took out the Poke Balls: ”Everyone, come out!”

Along with flashes of white light, three Gogoats appeared on the grass.

”Baa~”

Mayor Thomas walked up, smiling and saying, ”The competition is about to start; bring the Gogoats to the waiting area over there first!”

Naoki nodded, and then turned with the three Gogoats to leave.

”Good luck! We’ll be supporting you together!”

Naoki turned back, seeing Allen shouting there.

Mrs. Dantes and her husband, Riot, also smiled and waved at him.

The tall Keri nodded in this direction, too.

Looking at these people he met after coming to this world, Naoki showed a hint of a smile.

This feeling... is pretty good.

He smiled and brought the Gogoats to the waiting area.

By this time, ranchers already gathered there cast their gazes.

Upon seeing the Teddiursa beside Naoki, Old Man Matsuda from Sanshui Ranch immediately widened his eyes.

”Is that Teddiursa the one?”

Teddiursa also recognized the other party; it had once deceived him.

Now being exposed, Teddiursa couldn’t help but feel fearful: ”Yum...”

Following Matsuda’s identification, other ranchers noticed Teddiursa too.

Watching the bewildered Teddiursa, Naoki said to it: ”Do you remember what I said to you before?”

Teddiursa was slightly shocked, then nodded.

”It’s alright,” Naoki gave it an encouraging look.

”Yum...” Thinking of Naoki’s words, Teddiursa mustered the courage to step forward and apologize for its actions: ”Yum, yum yum!”

The reason Naoki let Teddiursa do this is that he’s considering capturing it.

If he becomes Teddiursa’s trainer, he should take on the responsibility of teaching Teddiursa and be accountable for its mistakes.

Once they return, Naoki planned to give his honey to Teddiursa, allowing it to return the honey to those stolen ranches.

Teddiursa handing over what it collected to him, and him providing honey to Teddiursa for it to give back to the stolen ranches.

Rounding up, it sort of counts as Teddiursa working off its debt.

Seeing this, the ranchers blinked.

They weren’t angry, nor did they mind, but instead warmly shared Pokemon treats they carried with Teddiursa, seeing its courage.

”That’s right! Don’t go randomly stealing things from others anymore!”

”Admitting mistakes and correcting them is what good kids do; consider those honey as my gift to you!”

”Eat, eat! See if these snacks suit your taste.”

Teddiursa looked in surprise at the snacks in its hand.

It couldn’t believe it, looking up at Naoki: ”Yum?”

Naoki smiled: ”See? If you apologize, everyone won’t blame you.”

”Yum!” Teddiursa nodded its head, firmly remembering these words.

The Cow and Sheep Competition was about to start!

Naoki handed Teddiursa to Koraidon, and prepared to enter with the three Gogoats.

On a large tree beside the plaza, a small figure quietly surfaced, secretly observing the lively scene below.
