Immortality Begins with Breathing Exercises

Chapter 147: Chapter 83: Fusion Advancement, Unexpected Delight

...

After acquiring the silver taels, Lin Zheyu disguised himself before heading out.

This time, he was purchasing a large quantity of herbs, which might easily attract the attention of interested parties, so disguising himself was more secure.

Lin Zheyu didn’t know how to apply a disguise, so he changed into a large robe, added a full beard, and darkened his skin a bit.

With a simple disguise, he looked quite different from before. Unless someone was very familiar with him, it would be hard to recognize him.

Climbing over the wall to avoid prying eyes, Lin Zheyu arrived at Jihe Hall.

”Shopkeeper, I’ll take as much of each of the herbs listed here as you have,” Lin Zheyu said deeply with a thick voice.

He handed over a prescription that listed the herbs needed for the Blood-Nourishing and Bone-Strengthening Soup, with the quantity of each herb detailed.

He often came here to buy herbs, but each time he changed the prescription.

”Please wait, sir, I’ll prepare them for you right away.”

The shopkeeper smiled as he looked at the prescription.

These herbs were all top-grade, and each one was extremely expensive.

He gave Lin Zheyu an assessing look, feeling a sense of familiarity, but he couldn’t recall where he had seen him before.

”Hurry up, are you worried I won’t be able to pay?”

Lin Zheyu said coldly, pulling out twenty pieces of gold from his bosom and laying them out in a row.

”Yes, yes, please wait, sir,”

The shopkeeper said quickly, daring not to scrutinize Lin Zheyu further.

Regardless of who he was, as long as he was willing to pay, it didn’t matter.

Lately, more trading caravans had appeared in the city, and unfamiliar faces were common, so the shopkeeper was used to seeing them.

Just now, he had felt a sense of familiarity, which was why he couldn’t resist taking a few more glances.

Half an hour later, thirteen sets of herbs were laid out on the table.

”Sir, this is all we have in stock. These herbs you are purchasing are very rare and expensive, so we don’t keep much in stock.”

”If you need more, you can come back in three days,” the shopkeeper said.

”Alright, calculate how much in silver taels,”

Lin Zheyu said casually, collecting the herbs.

After settling the silver taels and placing the herbs in the secret room at his residence, he went to other herb stores again.

For three consecutive days, he visited all the major herb stores in Songyi City.

The herbs needed for the Blood-Nourishing and Bone-Strengthening Soup were precious, and not many were in stock at the stores. He scoured the whole city and only managed to buy 88 sets of herbs.

The rest would have to wait until the stores received new stock before he could purchase more.

”Money really flies; in a few days, I’ve spent over a thousand taels of silver,” Lin Zheyu remarked to himself.

Yesterday, Chen Xihong returned and heard that Lin Zheyu had found a leg skill able to cultivate to the Qi Blood Three Transformations, piquing his interest and prompting him to spend 800 taels of silver.

Now, after buying herbs, his savings were down to just over a thousand taels of silver.

”Let’s start upgrading; let’s elevate the strength to the Qi Blood Second Transformation in one go!” Lin Zheyu resolved.

Over the past few days, he had accumulated another unit of Source Power. He now had a total of 11 units of Source Power at his disposal.

The Golden Swan Skill, to break through the seventh level of Qi Blood Second Transformation, still required nine units of Source Power.

With more to spare after the upgrade.

After reaching Qi Blood First Transformation, using one unit of Source Power for enhancement required about the medicinal energy of six sets of Blood-Nourishing and Bone-Strengthening Soup.

Lin Zheyu took out 54 packets of powdered herbs and poured them all into a wooden basin.

It was his first time using so many herbs. If he concocted them into a soup, it would require quite some effort.

The volume of 54 packets of powdered herbs was considerable, almost occupying two-thirds of the basin.

Pouring in water, he began to stir it with his hand, and the powdered herbs turned into a paste.

”Ugh, it’s turned into a paste.”

Lin Zheyu looked at the paste-like herbs, slightly speechless.

After pondering for a moment, worried that this method might not fully absorb the medicinal power, he brought out another wooden basin from inside.

Pouring out half of the paste into the second basin, he added water again and stirred, now looking satisfactory.

With both hands immersed in the basins, he focused his mind.

’Use nine units of Source Power to enhance the Golden Swan Skill.’

For the first time, Lin Zheyu used such a substantial amount of Source Power for enhancement; the massive energy surge made him moan involuntarily.

As the energy surged, his spirit became dazed, entering the space of consciousness.

Lin Zheyu began his frenzied cultivation.

Every use of one unit of Source Power was equivalent to him, without using tonics, rigorously training for about two and a half hours daily, for around a year.

With so much Source Power, his Golden Swan Skill in the space of consciousness had been cultivated to an almost perfect degree.

In terms of cultivation technique level, further improvement was almost unattainable; continued cultivation of the Golden Swan Skill primarily refined the Qi Blood, leading to a transformation of Qi Blood.

This time, however, was different from before.

After acquiring the Ten Thousand Army Step Skill, Lin Zheyu had a new insight and direction for improvement regarding body techniques.

As he crazily cultivated the Golden Swan Skill in the space of consciousness, he found a new direction for improvement and began to gradually integrate the Ten Thousand Armies Step into the Golden Swan Skill.

In the courtyard.

Lin Zheyu’s body was undergoing tremendous changes.

The massive Source Power surged, activating the medicinal energy of the herbs in the basins, transforming into energy that flowed into Lin Zheyu’s body.

Continuous refined Qi Blood was extracted, purified by the mysterious energy, becoming increasingly pure, with the energy contained in each unit of Qi Blood growing stronger.

The stronger the Qi Blood, the more terrifying the nurtured physique becomes.
