Immortality Begins with Breathing Exercises

Chapter 139: Chapter 80: Demon God’s Phantom (Part 2)

The Nine Nether Sect has a history of over a thousand years, worshiping the Nine Nether Demon God, said to exist before the creation of heaven and earth.

Before the founding of the Great Wei, this land was filled with numerous sects, with the Nine Nether Sect being one of the three most powerful among them.

However, with the establishment of Great Wei, efforts began to reorganize the sects, expel others, and promote the divine system headed by the Supreme Emperor of the Yellow Heaven.

Since then, these sects have gradually disappeared, with some going underground, some hiding in deep mountains, and others vanishing completely in the river of history.

”Waging war, gathering refugees, accepting believers, spreading incense... Could this world’s extraordinary path be one of becoming a god through faith?”

Lin Zheyu murmured.

Based on the information he currently possessed, he thought it was possible that the belief system had triumphed over the immortal cultivation system, which had been banned.

Immortal cultivation for longevity was labeled as a Forbidden Technique.

However, all of this was just his speculation without any basis.

Lin Zheyu moved quietly forward.

The square was inside a forest in Lion Valley, where the trees had been cut down to form a huge square.

In the center of the square, a platform was set up, with a man in a black and red robe standing on it, and eight men in black and red robes on either side.

Behind them was a statue over four meters tall, carved from wood, depicting a Divine Demon with three heads and eight arms.

The priest stood under the Divine Demon statue, arms outstretched, with a face full of devotion.

He slowly recounted the teachings of the Nine Nether Sect in a gentle tone.

The priest’s voice was loud and echoed throughout the entire square.

Beside him, over a dozen burly men were cooking in giant iron pots.

A fragrant aroma of meat wafted from the pots, attracting people from all directions, who listened devoutly in silence.

The refugees listened intently.

Having suffered hardships, their faith in the Great Wei and the Yellow Heaven Emperor had collapsed, and now the Nine Nether Sect gave them hope to live on.

They began abandoning their previous beliefs and worshiped the Nine Nether Demon God.

Lin Zheyu quietly approached.

He fully utilized the Turtle Breath Skill, hiding his presence, and crouched in the nearby woods.

With burly men patrolling around, he couldn’t get too close, but it was enough to identify the strength of the seventeen people above.

All of these people were Qi Blood Realm experts!

The lead priest’s Qi Blood was several times thicker than his, suggesting he was a Qi Blood Three Transformations expert.

One Qi Blood Three Transformations, two Qi Blood Two Transformations, two Qi Blood First Transformation experts, while the rest hadn’t reached the Qi Blood Gauze Layer yet.

”How strong!”

Lin Zheyu was somewhat surprised; so many Qi Blood Realm experts were likely much stronger than the surface power of the three major families in Songyi City.

No wonder they could subdue all the bandits in Lion Valley.

As the priest described the teachings, the refugees began to worship and bow devoutly before the Divine Demon statue.

Lin Zheyu looked at the Divine Demon statue, and after staring for a long time, the statue seemed to come to life in his eyes, and a towering strong demon god’s phantom appeared in his vision.

”Hiss—”

Lin Zheyu used his strong willpower to avert his gaze, gasping for air, drenched in sweat.

”How terrifying, could it be that this demon god truly exists?”

Lin Zheyu’s eyes were filled with fear.

In that brief look, he felt an ancient and vast aura crushing towards him.

It pressed on him so much that he couldn’t breathe and almost knelt down to worship alongside the refugees.

”This statue is quite ominous, beyond what I can handle at my current level.”

Lin Zheyu suppressed the fear in his heart, not daring to look directly at the Divine Demon statue.

He covered his ears with his hands, not daring to listen too much to the priest’s preaching.

The priest stood beneath the Divine Demon statue, and his voice seemed to have a magical power, giving off the feeling that everything he said was correct and was the truth.

Listening too long, one couldn’t help but begin to feel a sense of reverence for the Nine Nether Demon God and want to worship.

Lin Zheyu lightly tapped his toes, quickly retreating over a hundred meters before stopping at a distance to observe.

This Nine Nether Sect was full of mystery, making him want to retreat.

”Should I leave directly?” Lin Zheyu pondered.

After some contemplation.

Lin Zheyu weighed the pros and cons and decided to observe a little longer.

The priest’s strength was only at the Qi Blood Three Transformations level; if he wasn’t proficient in Leg Skill, then with Lin Zheyu’s mastery of the Golden Swan Skill and Qi Blood Realm First Transformation, escaping wouldn’t be difficult.

However, the Nine Nether Sect was too mysterious, and their unknown abilities made him wary.

Lin Zheyu retreated another two hundred meters, watching from afar.

After about half an hour, the priest finished his speech.

The believers lined up under the guidance of the staff to receive bowls of fragrant meat soup.

After the priest finished spreading the teachings, the men in black and red robes entered a nearby shrine next to the square.

The shrine was built grand and majestic, and inside stood another Divine Demon statue.

Lin Zheyu saw them go inside and breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed he hadn’t been discovered.

”With so many refugees, it’s impossible for everyone to know each other; I could disguise myself as a refugee and mix in to see if I can find any useful information.”

Lin Zheyu thought to himself.

He found a wooden hut used by the refugees and changed into an outfit he found inside.

Then he grabbed some dirt and smeared it on himself, making his fair skin grubby, to blend in better as a refugee.
