Chapter 25: Chapter 25: The Duel (Part 1)

”Hehe.”

Jia Yanrong chuckled as he looked at Lin Zheyu, his eyes filled with malice.

Being ambushed by a scholar and almost blinded made him lose face in the gang.

In the past few days, those troublesome friends would often hang around him, making teasing remarks, making Jia Yanrong feel quite uncomfortable.

Although he was brave and combative, he wasn’t as cunning as his brother, Jia Yanming.

Jia Yanrong was straightforward to a fault; after being ambushed by Lin Zheyu, he straightforwardly didn’t badmouth him.

During gang skirmishes, he was the first to charge forward courageously.

He believed that in the underworld, loyalty was paramount, and one should be willing to sacrifice for a brother.

For this reason, he was slashed on the neck and almost lost his life, but Jia Yanrong didn’t think it was a big deal.

However, being ambushed by a scholar and then mocked by his friends made him very uncomfortable.

”Alright!”

Lin Zheyu looked at Jia Yanrong, who was eager and ready to beat him up, and said.

Since he planned to join the Feihong Gang, it was time to settle the grudge with Jia Yanrong. They didn’t have any life-and-death feud between them.

He was more than happy to resolve the animosity through a battle.

”Haha, finally, you’re in my hands.”

”This time, I’ll beat you up hard and regain my lost pride.”

Jia Yanrong grinned and looked at Lin Zheyu.

Anyone with sharp eyes could see the malice in Jia Yanrong’s gaze.

He twisted his neck and clenched his fists, making cracking sounds, which made Lin Zheyu feel sorry for his fists.

”Since you’ve agreed, Jia Yanrong, go ahead and have a few moves with Mr. Lin. Don’t be too harsh, make sure to hold back.”

Xu Jingwu said.

In his opinion, although Lin Zheyu had practiced martial arts for some time, he wouldn’t be a match for Jia Yanrong.

Jia Yanrong’s strength had reached the Early Stage of Bone Forging Realm. Coupled with his tall and burly frame, he was extremely powerful. In the Feihong Gang, he was considered a good fighter.

”Don’t worry, Gang Leader, I know my limits.”

Jia Yanrong chuckled, looking very pleased.

”The space here is narrow, we can’t move freely. Let’s go to the backyard.”

Lin Zheyu said.

He led Xu Jingwu and his group to the backyard of the Bidan Tea House.

From afar, Liang Song glanced at them and continued to drink and daydream by himself.

...

Upon reaching the backyard, Lin Zheyu rolled up his sleeves and looked at Jia Yanrong on the opposite side.

Jia Yanrong looked at Lin Zheyu with an unfriendly expression: ”This time you can’t cheat and ambush, let’s see what you’re capable of!”

”Damn it, you made me lose face in front of Xie Jiang and Ning Hui, let’s see if I don’t beat you so badly you can’t get out of bed for days!”

”Hah, take this punch!”

Jia Yanrong said, then shouted and charged at Lin Zheyu with his fists swinging.

He looked tall and burly, and this aggressive punch made others sweat for Lin Zheyu.

”Gang Leader, is this really okay?”

”If Mr. Lin gets seriously injured, we won’t have anyone to tell such thrilling stories in the future.”

A man beside Xu Jingwu said.

Many in the Feihong Gang were fans of Lin Zheyu’s stories, having recently become addicted to them.

”Rest assured, although Jia Yanrong is reckless, he knows how to control himself. At most, Mr. Lin will just be bedridden for a few days.” Xu Jingwu smiled.

He suggested letting Lin Zheyu and Jia Yanrong spar mainly to let Jia Yanrong vent his frustrations.

”Hmm!”

”Wow!”

”Ouch!”

Xu Jingwu heard the exclamations from the arena and couldn’t help but look at the two combatants.

He had been somewhat absent-minded, thinking about other things.

In Xu Jingwu’s view, Lin Zheyu was no match for Jia Yanrong, neither in terms of physique nor combat experience.

However, when he looked at the two fighters, his eyes couldn’t help but slightly pause.

...

Jia Yanrong’s punch came with irresistible force.

In his mind, Lin Zheyu was still that frail scholar.

Even if he had trained for a month and had grown significantly stronger, Jia Yanrong didn’t take him seriously.

Seeing Jia Yanrong’s formidable punch, Lin Zheyu’s lips curled into a slight smile.

After a night of Master’s guidance and being kicked around for an evening, Lin Zheyu had gained some insights into actual combat.

He used the Golden Swan Skill to nimbly dodge Jia Yanrong’s punch.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Lin Zheyu grabbed Jia Yanrong’s wrist and added force in the direction of Jia Yanrong’s forward charge, causing him to lose balance and stagger forward.

Bang——

Lin Zheyu bent his elbow and fiercely rammed towards Jia Yanrong’s back.

The immense force hit, and Jia Yanrong fell heavily to the ground, eating dirt.

The onlookers from the gang were shocked.

Mr. Wo was also surprised.

Could this possibly be the same frail young man he once knew, who was as skinny as a skeleton?

How is it that in such little time, he’s able to easily defeat someone as built as Jia Yanrong? Simply incredible.

”That doesn’t count, I wasn’t paying attention just now.”

”Again!”

Jia Yanrong got up from the ground, his face extremely grim.

Being easily defeated in front of so many people, without the opponent using any trickery or sneak attacks, made him feel humiliated.

”Okay.”

Lin Zheyu nodded.

He assumed the stance of the Wild Bull Fist, intending to use raw strength to overpower Jia Yanrong, while also showcasing his ability to Xu Jingwu.

”Hmph!”

Jia Yanrong grunted coldly, suppressing the pain in his back, and launched another attack.

He practiced the Black Death Fist; when mastered, his punches were incredibly fierce, grazing them would cause injury, a direct hit could be fatal.

Lin Zheyu employed the Breathing Skill, complementing the Wild Bull Fist as he executed his move.

Since learning the Breathing Skill, the power of his Fist Skill had more than doubled.

Once he mastered the Breathing Skill further, and strengthened his internal organs even more, his power might even triple or quadruple compared to before.

Bang

Their fists collided, a dull sound echoed.

Both Lin Zheyu and Jia Yanrong felt a slight numbness in their arms, their bones aching slightly.

Their strengths were evenly matched, both of them were knocked back two steps.

A hint of shock flashed in Jia Yanrong’s eyes: ”Such strong force, has this guy also reached the Bone Forging Realm?”

The Black Death Fist was powerful and formidable; few in the gang could withstand even a single punch from him.

Yet this seemingly frail opponent had withstood it head-on, even pushing him back several steps.

”Again!”

Jia Yanrong shouted, advancing aggressively.

His attacks were broad and intense, yet full of openings.

With Liang Song’s guidance, Lin Zheyu easily spotted Jia Yanrong’s flaws.

However, he chose not to exploit these weaknesses to defeat Jia Yanrong; he intended to use pure strength to thoroughly subdue the straightforward fellow.

From the recent clash, Lin Zheyu realized Jia Yanrong wasn’t much stronger than him.

Due to his larger build, Jia Yanrong’s strength was slightly greater, but just slightly.

In real combat, it’s not about strength or speed, but combat awareness and tactics.

In this aspect, Jia Yanrong was lacking, possessing only bravery, relying solely on brute force to overpower.

Bang

Bang bang bang

The sound of fists meeting flesh echoed in the courtyard, and the members of the Feihong Gang, Mr. Wo, and the waiters from the Bidan Tea House looked at Lin Zheyu with new eyes.

They never expected this refined, scholarly seeming person, who spoke passionately about martial exploits on the storytellers’ stage, to possess such formidable ability.

”Good, good, good!”

Xu Jingwu watched the fight between Jia Yanrong and Lin Zheyu intensely, unable to help saying ”good” three times.

This Lin Zheyu, in terms of the Martial Dao, seemed to have such talent.

From his Fist Skill routine, it was evident that he was practicing the widely known Wild Bull Fist.

To his knowledge, Lin Zheyu had been practicing martial arts for less than two months, yet he had mastered the Wild Bull Fist to such a proficient level; this kind of perception was truly astonishing.

”If this young man really had no prior exposure to the Martial Dao, then such innate talent is worth nurturing a bit.” Xu Jingwu thought to himself.

Bang—

Lin Zheyu raised his hand to block a direct punch to his face from Jia Yanrong, his arm felt slightly numb.

He stepped forward with his right foot, aiming a kick at Jia Yanrong’s knee.

Unprepared, Jia Yanrong stumbled from the kick, losing his balance.

Seizing the opportunity, Lin Zheyu quickly moved in.

Wild Bull Charge!

Executing a Wild Bull Charge, both fists struck out.

In a panic, Jia Yanrong prioritized defending his face from the punches.

Lin Zheyu’s mouth curled into a victorious smile.

Bang—

Another punch landed forcefully on Jia Yanrong’s abdomen.

”Hiss—”

Jia Yanrong felt his abdomen cramp, curling up like a shrimp, falling to the ground.
