Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Spirit Feedback to the Body

On the way home, a familiar figure emerged from the corner.

”Mr. Lin, what did you think of yesterday’s matter?”

The visitor’s name was Jia Yanming, the steward of Yixiang Tea House.

Unlike Mr. Wo, Jia Yanming had a standard stature, a serious expression, and extremely sharp eyes, looking very much like a successful person from the previous life.

”Sorry, Bidan Tea House has been kind to me.”

”I used to visit your tea house, but before I even entered, I was chased away by the staff, truly unfortunate.”

Lin Zheyu showed a regrettable expression.

At that time, Jia Yanming was also present, coldly glanced at him with a particularly indifferent expression, as if seeing a beggar at the door.

Impatiently, he waved to the attendant to drive Lin Zheyu away.

”Please reconsider, we can discuss better terms.”

”Our Yixiang Tea House can offer you three hundred wen per session, plus for every ten guests over the base number, we will increase your pay by ten wen, and so on.”

”Bidan Tea House is smaller, your prospects there cannot compare to those at our Yixiang Tea House.”

”As long as you come to our tea house, we...”

”Sorry, not considering it for now.”

Lin Zheyu interrupted Jia Yanming and walked past him.

”He’s still young, having read a few years of the Holy Books, not knowing the harshness of business.”

”There is some loyalty, understands gratitude, but, ha...”

Jia Yanming watched his back with an indescribable expression, softly murmuring, unsure of what he was thinking.

...

Back at the courtyard, Lin Zheyu took off his green robe.

This outfit was uncomfortable to wear; he preferred the martial arts attire.

He fetched the Qi Blood herbs purchased yesterday from inside and poured them into a medicine pot to start brewing.

”Phew, what a laborious task, how nice it would be to have a maid.”

Lin Zheyu wiped the sweat from his forehead and took deep breaths.

He had already worked out for hours in the morning, and now the wood chopping, water fetching, and heating made him even more exhausted.

Lin Zheyu slumped on the ground, breathing heavily.

Currently, he didn’t want to move at all; every movement was a test of will.

”No, can’t give up so easily!”

Lin Zheyu cheered himself on.

After a month of stance training, his determination had significantly grown.

Slowly rising from the ground, this simple action exhausted the will he had just accumulated.

”Regret pushing myself so hard during training with Mr. Liang.”

Lin Zheyu felt his body’s pain.

He rested for a while, gritted his teeth, and began to train again.

”When Heaven assigns a task to a great person, it first tests their resolve...”

Lin Zheyu recited famous passages from his past life to encourage himself, enduring the physical pain and the mental fatigue and disgust to start training.

If he couldn’t endure even this hardship, how could he achieve Great Success?

He got into position.

The strength was a bit lacking, but the posture was very precise.

Heh!

Ha!

Lin Zheyu shouted and started practicing fist techniques.

Wooden stakes for practicing fists were set up in the courtyard, wrapped in shabby clothes as cushioning, which Lin Zheyu had pre-arranged.

Bang bang

Bang bang bang

Fists landed on the stakes with banging sounds.

As time passed, Lin Zheyu became more engaged and the sound of hits grew louder.

The beginning is always hard, but once you force yourself to start training, gritting your teeth is enough to keep going.

Rustling

A gentle breeze blew, making the leaves rustle.

Under the moonlight, Lin Zheyu was already drenched in sweat, his face a bit pale, his lips trembling slightly.

His eyes were bloodshot, and every punch caused his arm muscles to tremble.

This was a sign that he was reaching his limit.

”Hold on!”

”Just a little more, it’s about to succeed!”

Clenching his teeth tightly, Lin Zheyu’s spirit was extremely tense, resisting the intense pain transmitted from his weary body with his strong willpower.

Another ten minutes passed.

The feeling of breaking through the physical limit and the instant elevation of spirit occurred, Essence, Qi, and Spirit suddenly coalesced into a single force.

He let out a long breath, exhausted and collapsed onto the ground.

His muscles twitched constantly due to extreme fatigue.

”I’ve done it.”

A smile appeared on Lin Zheyu’s pale face.

He acquired another unit of Source Power.

[Heavenly Dao rewards diligence]

Name: Lin Zheyu

Source Power: 3

Skill: Wild Bull Fist (Entry not achieved 5%)

”Wild Bull Fist progress is at 95% away from entry, roughly 20 days to achieve entry.”

”I wonder how much impact Source Power will have, how much improvement it can bring to Wild Bull Fist.”

Lin Zheyu was extremely excited.

He rested on the ground for half an hour before getting up.

Stretching his muscles and tendons, he stripped down and entered the already prepared bath barrel.

”Refreshing!”

Wrapped in warm water, Lin Zheyu shivered with pleasure, feeling some of the muscle fatigue fade away.

”Let’s test the power of Source Power.”

Unable to contain his expectations, Lin Zheyu decided to try it immediately.

’Use 1 unit of Source Power to enhance Wild Bull Fist.’

With this thought, 1 unit of Source Power vanished.

Then the progress of Wild Bull Fist started to rapidly increase, 6%...10%...20%...50%...80%...100%!

...

A mysterious energy surged from the depths of his cells, beginning to transform Lin Zheyu’s muscles and fascia.

At the same time, his spirit entered a peculiar state.

It was as if he was in a mysterious space, in this space, Lin Zheyu had only one thought, and that was to practice Wild Bull Fist!

He trained Wild Bull Fist madly, punching endlessly, tireless, like possessed.

In this magical state, it seemed to last an indeterminate amount of time, and Lin Zheyu’s understanding of Wild Bull Fist became deeper.

After a few breaths, he returned from the memory trance.

His eyes slowly widened, filled with amazement.

Unbelievable!

Lin Zheyu felt as if he had practiced Wild Bull Fist for a long time, without sleep or rest.

He now had a profound understanding of Wild Bull Fist.

Suddenly, a strange sensation came from his nose, as if something was flowing out.

His right hand touched, and under the moonlight, he saw a streak of blood.

”Is this... a nosebleed?”

Stunned, Lin Zheyu felt his head was dizzy, and his body incredibly weak.

His vision also became somewhat blurred.

”What’s going on?”

”Why does it feel as if the body is even more weakened.”

Lin Zheyu gripped the edge of the bath barrel with both hands, took a moment to recover.

There was a feeling of hunger and weakness from the cells all over his body, and the dark skin became slightly pale.

Lin Zheyu contemplated and understood.

”The effect of Source Power allows my spirit to enter a special state, and in that special state, time is greatly extended, and the spirit body madly trains inside.”

”The training results of the spirit body in that state can directly feed back to the flesh, allowing the body to also gain training strength.”

”But due to insufficient energy, it can only consume body energy reserves, leading to Qi Blood depletion.”

Lin Zheyu thought through the process.

He rested against the edge of the bath barrel for a moment until his vision regained clarity.

Rustling...

Lin Zheyu stepped out of the bath barrel, a blackness descended again, and his head produced a dizzying feeling.

He quickly gripped the edge of the bath barrel again to steady himself until he recovered.

Qi Blood depletion was quite severe.
