Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

Chapter 1149: Chapter 1149: Coming Right Over

After a shower and a change of clothes, Qin Yu felt refreshed and drove towards the First Hospital.

Just as he arrived at the entrance of the First Hospital, his phone started ringing. Qin Yu took out his phone and saw that it was his mom calling.

Qin Yu’s head instantly grew bigger. He hadn’t dared to go home these past few days because every time he talked to his mother on the phone, she would always urge him to have a child with Su Ziyan.

In the beginning, Qin Yu and Su Ziyan were only in a fake marriage, why would they need a kid?

So, Qin Yu hadn’t been home for over a month.

Qin Yu answered the call with a pained expression, “Mom, what can I do for you? Ziyan and I have already gone to bed, whatever it is, let’s talk about it tomorrow.”

“Gone to bed? Have you been making an effort? I’ve been dying to hold my grandchild!”

“Hehe, very hard, your daughter-in-law is so beautiful, how could I not be strenuous? Just wait for my good news!”

Qin Yu grinned, he never dared to make such a boast before, but now, his relationship with Su Ziyan was heating up rapidly, ready to have a baby any moment.

“Good! That’s the spirit! Best to have twins, a boy and a girl, and be done in one go,” Li Xiuyi said, beaming with joy.

“Mom, if there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.”

“You rascal, what’s the rush? Get up now and come to the First Hospital.”

“The First Hospital? Mom, are you not feeling well?” Qin Yu grew tense all of a sudden.

Hearing the worry in Qin Yu’s voice, Li Xiuyi nodded in satisfaction, feeling that the rascal finally had some filial piety. She quickly clarified, “Not me.”

“Not you? Could it be Dad? But Dad is so healthy, how could he be sick?” Qin Yu’s tone lightened a bit.

“It’s not your dad, it’s your second uncle.”

“Second uncle?”

Qin Yu’s tone turned cold. He remembered as a child, following his mother to the Houtu Sect to celebrate his grandfather’s seventieth birthday, where he and Li Xiuyi faced all sorts of humiliation!

Since then, Qin Yu had felt completely indifferent towards the people from the Houtu Sect!

“Mom, what does the life or death of the Houtu Sect’s second elder have to do with us? I’m not going!”

“You rascal, your second uncle is a good person. If it weren’t for his help, your father and I would never have escaped the Houtu Sect! Do you know why he insisted on getting treatment in Luo City? It’s because he was afraid he might not make it and wanted to see us one last time.”

Li Xiuyi’s voice choked up as she spoke.

What Qin Yu feared most was his mom being sad. Hearing Li Xiuyi cry, his heart instantly softened, “Mom, don’t cry, okay? I’ll go, isn’t that enough?”

“Come on, your second uncle will be done with the surgery soon, he’s in operating room number one right now.”

“Understood, I’ll be right there.”

Qin Yu deliberately loitered around the First Hospital for a good while, dawdling for about fifteen minutes before heading towards the observation room for operating room number one.

In the observation room, Qin Yu immediately caught sight of his mom, Dean Gao Pengfei, and a few other people he did not wish to see.

“Dr. Qin? What brings you here?” Gao Pengfei got up at once.

“That man inside is my second uncle,” Qin Yu muttered.

Ah? Gao Pengfei’s mouth fell open, finally understanding that Qin Yu came from a top-ranking Sect, no wonder he never cared for the position of dean!
