The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1647: Chapter 1647: Temporary Authorization

The two of them were lying on the wings of K-Q75 at this moment. As the spaceship shook, they both swayed and almost got thrown off, but through the transparent protective shield, they could clearly see the food on the few tables on the spaceship’s deck remained untouched.

Plates, utensils, chairs, stools... all were immobile.

What kind of power is this that could make the inside of the spaceship devoid of any sensation of vibration?

Ji You and Chu Jiaojiao exchanged a glance and saw the same puzzlement in each other’s eyes. After a moment of silence, Chu Jiaojiao couldn’t help but ask, ”Ji You, should we go down?”

Ji You thought for a moment and said, ”Let’s wait a bit more.”

A few seconds later, the sensation of vibration from the spaceship started up again, and this time it lasted longer than the last, approximately 3 seconds more.

Then, Ji You noticed that the position of K-Q75 had moved about 2.5 kilometers.

This movement speed seemed fast, but compared to the vast, boundless space rift, it was actually negligible. It was not even a thousandth of the ship’s own speed.

Ji You conveyed the data she calculated to Chu Jiaojiao.

Chu Jiaojiao listened, furrowed her brows slightly, and said, ”Ji You, what do you think is causing the spaceship to continue to move? Is some creature propelling it?”

”But—” Chu Jiaojiao paused, pointed at the spaceship beneath them, and said, ”we just conducted a thorough 360-degree investigation when we approached. We found no trace of any creatures on the outside of the spaceship.”

Ji You asked, ”What about the inside?”

Chu Jiaojiao was startled, her eyelids twitching: ”Are you saying there might be alien creatures inside the spaceship?”

Ji You did not answer; her spiritual network was currently spreading out around, probing the spaceship’s surroundings bit by bit. Cautious as always, Ji You did not dare to act recklessly, but carefully observed before advancing step by step.

Thus, Ji You’s probing was very slow, and at this rate, it would take half a day to reach a conclusion. But she wasn’t aiming for the final result; she believed she needed to expand her spiritual net, just in case there was indeed danger. Her six spiritual threads, driven by the instinct to survive at any cost, could provide her with an early warning.

Nothing.

Nothing.

...

Same as the result from the Mecha detectors, nothing was detected for now.

Ji You turned to Chu Jiaojiao and replied, ”Not necessarily. It might be inside the spaceship or outside, and the reason we can’t detect it is because neither our detectors nor our own eyesight, or spiritual threads... can capture its figure.”

”What you said makes me feel like I’m reading a ghost story.” Chu Jiaojiao blinked, with a hint of mockery in her tone, ”Is it possible that what’s shaking the spaceship is a ghost, so we can’t see it?”

Ji You: ”Shh—”

Chu Jiaojiao immediately stopped.

Ji You said, ”It’s about to begin again.”

Chu Jiaojiao was taken aback.

The next second.

The spaceship started producing a rhythmic shaking, and this shaking gradually intensified, suddenly transforming into a fierce storm.

Crash~

Ji You and Chu Jiaojiao extended their mechanical arms, tightly grasping onto the spaceship wings, barely avoiding falling off.

Soon.

The shaking stopped.

Then, the two of them realized they had moved approximately 3 kilometers once again.

”An increase of 0.5 kilometers compared to last time.” Chu Jiaojiao said, then turned to Ji You and asked, ”What do you think?”

Ji You squinted and said, ”Since we started observing its shaking, it has happened a total of seven times, and each time it moved within the 2-3 kilometer range. So, I conclude that this monster’s strength isn’t strong.”

”Hmm?” Chu Jiaojiao: ”!!!”

”Of course, my basis isn’t just from this little observation. It also comes from our spiritual thread detection results. Your spiritual threads and mine continuously probed the spaceship, and it hasn’t reacted.” Ji You continued, pointing at the spaceship, ”Look, we’ve been here so long, and we’ve been chatting idly, yet it hasn’t noticed us. It’s just focused on moving the spaceship, very dedicated, very focused.”

Chu Jiaojiao said, ”Maybe it’s too busy to deal with us?”

Ji You said, ”That only proves how weak it is. A powerful Star Beast wouldn’t need to do anything, it would just need to release a spiritual pressure to scare away all living things within hundreds of miles. We’ve already had idle chat in front of it, and it hasn’t reacted.”

Chu Jiaojiao said, ”Maybe it prefers peace and doesn’t like fighting and killing?”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You said speechlessly, ”Why do you have to argue?”

”No... no... I’m just saying it casually.” Chu Jiaojiao laughed, then asked, ”So what do we do now? Continue chatting here?”

”No.” Ji You shook her head, ”Anywhere is better for chatting than this godforsaken place, with not even a plate of peanuts.”

”If the unknown creature is indeed weak, it surely can’t multitask while working, then—” Ji You said, standing up gently and pointing at the spaceship’s boarding gate, ”Jiaojiao, when the spaceship starts shaking, we’ll act, unlock immediately, and storm into the spaceship at the first moment.”

Chu Jiaojiao had no objections to this, but she was somewhat worried, saying, ”If we suddenly storm in, might it trigger the spaceship’s self-destruct program?”

Ji You said, ”At the entrance, I had a brief exchange with Shen Sheng and received a temporary boarding code from her.”

”Hmm?” Chu Jiaojiao’s pupils enlarged in shock, ”You even considered this?”

Ji You was not humble at all, she said with a smile, ”This is called being prepared, nothing to lose, it was too dangerous at the time, who knew what would happen, maybe Senior He Bi and I couldn’t return to our own spaceship, might have to be guests on another ship? Always have to think of more self-rescue measures, right? Not only do I have K-Q75’s temporary boarding code, but I also gave Shen Sheng temporary boarding access for X-N3848.”

Chu Jiaojiao gaped.

Just then—

They felt a sudden movement beneath their feet, and both released their mechanical arms of the Mecha, leaping towards the boarding gate. The gate was tightly shut, Ji You pulled up the code provided by Shen Sheng, and immediately, they heard a ”ding—” sound.

The cabin door opened in response!

Chu Jiaojiao mouth agape: ”It’s really true? You really opened it with the code?”

Ji You rolled her eyes: ”How could it not be true?”

Chu Jiaojiao giggled, ”I thought you were bragging.”

Ji You: ”...”

Once confirmed there was no danger inside the cabin, the two quickly rushed in.

The next second, the cabin door closed again, and in a place where neither of them could see, a crooked figure also stepped into the spaceship.
